Over the years and me growing in my spiritual journey, Nicholas has been providing me whatever I need. I also love that it's female and black owned. I'm so grateful for this store. However the workers there are very rude a lot of the time. It's kind of been like this ever since I've been there. Like they're either not that willing to be helpful or they are actually straight up rude. After years of going to this place I actually saw a figure I wanted for the first time in one of the glass cases, and decided to grab one. Unfortunately there was a little small sign on the OTHER case that said don't open. After I basically got my figure out one of the employees stopped me. I profusely apologized once I realized my mistake, and still the employee told me around five times not to open even after I stepped away and apologized many times. But still I stood there and apologized for the display (a bunch of boxes). Then he gave me what I wanted (after I already basically did it myself) and then I went to the register. I then said "sorry I've been going here for years but I never got something out of the case before so I didn't know." And then another employee (who by the way was facing the case the whole time) said "It's behind glass for a reason", as if I'm in a museum. I apologized and left. The staff has been rude and entitled before but this has been my worst experience yet. Fun to walk around in, but it's hassle actually going here.

Not only that, but they hooked up an on-the-spot customer recommended graphic novel based on the stack that I purchased. It was a great read on the trip and flight home. I've always liked their customer service and how they handle long lines. The value here is really good; there are a lot of cheap bargain-bin comic books alongside really nice collectibles. If you're not from New York, this would be a great spot to pick up a souvenir and experience a piece of the city's comic book culture.

Buying and Selling at Book Off What a cool store. So much to…read moresee. Unfortunately, it is lousy to sell at and expensive to buy at. First, Selling. I brought in three statue items unopened in the original packaging. I checked on ebay for what the items sold for (not asking price but sold price) and it added up to about $600, I lugged the items over there and had to leave them there because they wouldn't get to them right away. The people/kids working there were very nice. I went to have lunch and got the text to return, and they are offering $150. So I picked up the items and turned down the offer. Again, they were very nice, it's just I wasn't willing to accept 25% of the value. I figured at worst it would be 50%. But I am better off getting closer to the actual price on ebay. Now, Buying. Lots of very expensive and exiting things to get, and I didn't have time to price check things so much, but my son is into the Nintendo switch and i spotted a used Marvel VS Capcom game he might like. It was $34.95. But just in case, I pulled up Amazon and looked the game up. A brand new one costs $21.79. So it would have been a terrible idea for me to buy it there. I guess if you are leaving work and need a quick gift, you might stop in and pay too much for an item. If you are in real trouble and don't have time to wait for an Ebay sale, you might consider selling your collectables for 25% the value, this place might come in handy.

I shopped there for 7 years, in those 7 years I have had employees forget to ring up half my order where I had to make sure I paid afterwards because the staff was so incompetant, A covers for DC comics floppies (typically 3.99 at the time)were being charged to me as 1 in 25 incentive variant prices (like $24.99), I was charged for products i didn't purchase, and was treated like shit, either because it was me, because I expected people to take pride in their work, or because I was Albanian, or handicapped. If you must go to comicbook store, go anywhere but there. Anyone that tells you different has probably eaten boxes full of Lead Paint chips cereal.
