Quaint little shop that's actually bigger than it appears from the outside. I personally found it really difficult to locate the issues you're looking for. It's not organized in an obviously clean way. But +1 to the worker who was there when I came in. Really helpful and knew where everything was. Tons of vintage comics, and some modern back issues (but not a whole lot). When I came in on a Saturday, this week's new releases were nearly gone already so I suspect they don't order a whole lot each week. But that wasn't why I visited the shop anyway. I thought the older issues were priced pretty fairly and they also tend to bundle whole series together, in case you're interested in buying the entire set / don't want to hunt down all the issues separately. Not so much in terms of collectibles. Random modern comic book movie memorabilia and old carded GI Joe figures. Some Funko Pop figures, but that's pretty much it. Overall it's a pretty good shop, but again, they get brownie points for knowledgeable staff!

This was my first time entering the store I saw it online and it was in the Rockland County area so I took a trip to be able to see it for myself. Walking into a store it's very casual and the employee and possibly the owner as well to is very nice and he's very helpful and he has no issues an answer any kind of questions which is why I like to see an appointment in the store. The collection that's on the wall is quite different from what I'm expecting but having a different varieties it's simple Farrakhan bookstore. The store reminded me a little bit of the old school days of common bookstores and being able to just watch and enjoy and series comics the way it was done in the past when I was growing up his kid. I like boys establish mean it's different from the high end stores that I've been to this is just a simple place that hopefully you can be able to find some comics that are not usually available in other stores. It looks like also a good place where you could be able to find some moderate priced comics then be over the expensive one.

They've got good value comics, a fun selection. Like it a lot better than some of the big chains out there

True Believers Gaming & Collectibles

Out front, they have life-size figures of both classic and modern characters from movies and games -- and the contrast is wild. E.T. is standing right next to Art the Clown, which pretty much tells you what kind of place this is. You'll definitely want to take pictures. Inside the store, there's a huge assortment of games, toys, plush, collectibles, and pop-culture items packed into every corner. You'll find everything from modern fandom pieces to classic toys from the '80s, which adds to the fun of browsing. Some of the more common items can feel a bit overpriced, but it's also clear that some of what they sell is harder to find, so pricing likely reflects rarity on certain pieces. It's the kind of store where you're as much there to look around as you are to buy something. I ended up walking out with a cute Wolfman plush, so mission accomplished. Definitely a fun stop if you're into collectibles, nostalgia, or just want to see something different while at the mall.

If Funkos are your thing, there's a very large selection of them here and the largest overall selection in the entire mall. Any staff I encountered were friendly. Located on the 3rd floor of the Palisades mall. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

3.5: The store name could be more accurate because it has mostly trading cards (Pokémon, magic,…read moresports), and then memorabilia, figurines and collectibles, and some interesting board games. Half of the store is devoted to gaming tables. Likely aren't getting any deals here but prices seem to be on par with other similar spots. Small parking lot.

However, Walmart had 1 suitcase left, sold through the third party, Toywiz. It looked like it was repackaged but I did not think that would be the case with something purchased through Walmart so I let my hunch go. Imagine how devastated my daughter was when she opened the dolls and one was missing her shoes and another was missing bracelets. I reached out to Walmart who said that they would reach out to the seller on my behalf. I also reached out to the seller. The seller stated that the pieces are not guaranteed but rather this is part of the "surprise." Now, that is LOL! I reached out to the manufacturer who said all pieces should be there and did not have replacement pieces in stock. I reached back out to Walmart and spoke with Rhea who told me I could keep the product AND receive a full refund. When I did not receive any notice, I called Walmart back and spoke with Louis who said he would escalate my issue. I am still waiting for a response and will update this review once I receive one. In the interim, two words for anyone reading this review - Buyer Beware!

Newbury Comics - May have to get this one of these days.

Fun store. Came upon…read morehere a few months ago and was happy this place is in the mall. Sadly there has been a little loss of variety in the Palisades in recent years, so Newbury Comics is a more than welcome addition. Inside is spacious with plenty to look at as well as a lot of shopping options. From movie/TV memorabilia to those Funko Pops that are still going strong. If you're a Funko fan, you'll find a good selection here. Books, vinyl, games - chances are you'll find something that strikes your interest. Things are organized fairly well and there is something for nearly everyone. I didn't have any employee interactions, but it was a little busy inside both times I came in thus far. Overall a fun place to stop by and worth checking out.

I literally can't believe how this place treats their customers. I was here yesterday--two days…read moreafter a cardiologist appointment where I was diagnosed with a slew of heart issues I'm now medicated for. I walked up to a shelf by the back, and a worker here (Filipino guy with glasses--I'm Filipino as well) thought it would be FUNNY to make a random startling loud screeching noise right behind me as a prank. They did this and snickered, and I can verify that my friend, whom I was with, watched their exchange as they planned to do this to me. Obviously if I was a 6'3" bearded dude (I'm not) this wouldn't have been a targeted prank against me. Now--I know I look very unintimidating and young, and the workers couldn't have known about my arrhythmic issues. But this is NOT what you do to a customer--EVER--and it is simply not funny. Loud sudden noises that trigger high heart rate and cortisol have the potential--literally--to kill me. This was beyond obnoxious. I made sure the dude with glasses knew this, as he continuously denied (gaslighting me) that this was an intentional prank--despite my friend confirming witnessing the two workers exchanging that this would be hilarious to do to a *no-longer-paying* customer. It's unfortunate bc the shop is great and has genuinely cool merch. But is clearly a culture here of unprofessional treatment of paying guests, and I do not think the worker who thought he could get away with this should be working here. Management needs to demonstrate accountability because this is was random bullying at best, and jeopardizes a customer's health at worst. No one who does this to a guest should be working here. I had to sit down and do my BP monitor, then double my dose of medication afterwards because the screeching noise heightened my blood pressure. Completely childish and not cool. We need to raise the standards of professionalism here.

From new issues to back log, everything has a neat and tidy place, making browsing quick and effortless. They place a variety of mid-level rare comics ranging in price from $15 to $40 near most of the comic shelves, which make for both excellent window shopping and dangerous impulse purchases. They have a nice selection of old and new comics, mostly from DC and Marvel, so Gotham might not be great if you're looking for more obscure or niche comic brands. Similarly, this is a comic shop first, and things like games have a small presence. I also have to mention the staff working at Gotham. The employee was super helpful, going above and beyond in looking for issues that I couldn't immediately find. He made my visit feel extra special. The only downside with this comic shop is that it isn't located closer to my home! Otherwise I'd go there every week!

But if you're looking for mainstream new releases, chances are you'll find them on release day (maybe the week after too). Not too much else to look at, especially collectibles, so your visit will probably be a whole lot shorter than other comic book shops (which is better for your wallet). But if you're in the area and you're in a pinch for that new Batman comic, this is your place. It was a hot day when I visited and they just had a couple floor fans running. Nothing gets me out of a comic book shop faster than sweaty hands on loose/unbagged books. And for parking, expect to circle around a couple times (plan to pay for a meter). But service is super friendly and they take card. And like I said, for what it is/does it's still a 5 star place
