At first I was only a passive customer but I found myself going more and more regularly. Its a great store run by a wonderful father and son team. Customer service is A+. They do everything they can to help you if you need it. They have a huge back issue section. Most of it is super hard to dig thru as its in heavy wooden boxes. Its a double edge sword. It is exhausting digging, but it also means a few hidden gems might still be waiting to be plucked as most are too lazy to put in the sweat work. There are tons of toys as well. I like that if you go on new comic day, the new books are spread out in the back. It lets you know exactly what came out that week. Lastly they have a reward card program. Get $10 back for every hundy you drop. It never expires so you can continue to bank until you have enough saved up for a nice wall book. A&S you are def on my pull list. In! read more

Tony & Alex are so great! Love stepping inside this shop every time because they're always helpful and kind. Doesn't matter if you're a regular, a newbie, or a seasoned collector. In fact, the store even has something for all kinds of collectors too. They have an incredible collection of backissues and sometimes even more in the back, so be sure to ask if you're looking for something specific. Even if they don't have the issue you're looking for, sometimes they'll have it elsewhere - either stored away or in their other location. As soon as you walk in, you can see all the recent releases on the wall. It's easy to spot and not overwhelming to look at. They also carry some rare issues behind the counter so be sure to look at those if you're looking for a valuable one. There's also a section for collectibles like action figures. Nothing old, mostly modern, but you never know. I've bought a couple figures here too. And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the comic book storage boxes. I love getting my supplies here because everything is priced fairly without having to buy online or drive a great distance. They have short boxes, graphic boxes, you name it! read more

Back in the '80s, when I was a teen, I had a great local comic book store, where the owner would put aside my titles each month and offer recommendations for new titles. Then, I went off to college, moved away, started a family, and mostly left comics aside. Until the past year, as I decided to read vintage cosmic titles from Marvel before the "Guardians" movie launched. I found myself wanting to recover this part of my past. I decided to take my 3-year-old son to Free Comic Day. I searched online for local comic shops that cater to family needs, keeping violent and sexual titles behind the counter or off the stands, so inappropriately young kids aren't exposed to such content. I found a listing for A&S and decided to visit. The owner and his staff were friendly and helpful, and I was impressed by the selection of new titles (not just Marvel and DC), the availability of back issues and old titles, and the toys and collectibles. Since then, I've had a pull list set up, and I'm enjoying getting back into contemporary comics. I look forward to bringing my son and my daughter-on-the-way to A&S for many years to come. read more

I grew up with A&S as one of my nearby shops and decades later, I rediscovered it as a distant go-to location for specific items. This is the best comic book store in the area. Many comic book stores are intimidating and pretentious, but here you can ask anything, and they're always willing to help. I've been meaning to review this place for a while. I don't go there often but I do get in this area a bit since my wife works close by. It's a great little comic shop. The biggest draw for me at this place is there back issue inventory and ability to get you back issue they don't have. I explicitly went there once to look for 2 issues from 2003 that weren't in a popular enough series to warrant a trade paperback. Alex helped me search the stacks but when it wasn't there he offered to try to order it for me. I looked at him perplexed and asked how. He informed me that they are a part of a program with other comics shops across the country that will search their inventories for other shops and "trade" comics for the benefit of the customers. I was pleasantly shocked. Following Monday I get a call and they had the 2 issues waiting for me. I would classify the shop in the vein of traditional comic shops. They don't keep it simple to comic books for the most part. They do carry trades but it's not the focus like many modern shops do. They have all the new comics toys in the back. I think they have some gaming cards for sale and sports cards. But again these are not the focus for me and from I can tell the store. Technically the parking is street parking. Don't let that deter you. There is a parking lot at the end of the block to use. There is also a parking lot across the street for the local chain pharmacy, though I don't know how legal it is to park there. read more

A hole-in-the-wall gem of a comic store. It's so great to see a shop like the ones I used to frequent as a kid/teen. Independently owned, cluttered, but organized, and run by two friendly fellas who were super helpful suggesting books for my 8-year old daughter. They cautioned me that the copy of Brubaker's 'Kill or be Killed" trade I was holding probably wasn't child appropriate. I probably won't let her read it until at least 11, sheesh. (J/K!). I'm happy I found A&S, and plan to return. read more

Great shop. Friendly staff that will not only help you find a book, but if they don't have it they will try to get it for you. They have a large backstock of older comics and usually get a decent amount of new copies each release date. They also have some toys and sell cards as well. The main reason I put this shop ahead of some other ones by my job and home is the fact the staff is very nice and usually as soon as I walk in the door, they literally have my comics in hand. I started reading comics in September 2014. Many people read comics digitally now and I preferred to read them in physical form. There aren't that many comic shops left and it's especially hard to find a local shop. I remembered this store from when I used to buy Magic The Gathering cards years ago so I visited the store once again. When I first went there, I wasn't even sure what I was looking for. The staff was helpful and pointed me in the direction of some books based on the types of heroes and villains I expressed interest in. Since then, I've been inclined to go to this store quite a bit. The staff answers many questions, they always greet you as you enter and remember who you are. Plenty of stores treat people as just customers, but the people at A & S treat customers as friends. I had a pull list there and whenever I walked in, they would already have my books lined up waiting for me. It's a great place to shop and comic fans should definitely check it out. They also go out of their way to help you track down books. That's a plus. read more

The staff is very kind and polite they know you by name and greet you with a smile and handshake everytime.They'll also help you to find that one comic your looking for through the wall of shelves.The deals are amazing mostly with the 50 cent bind where i've found a few gems, and we also can't forget their 10% off that they give all the time. Best Comic store around! Friendly staff and very personalized service. They are always looking to help out their regular customers and welcome new ones. Amazing deals throughout the store especially the 50 cent bins.
