Slime is currently our daughter's thing so I knew we had to visit on this trip before departing. Located in a shopping center, there were plenty of parking options. It is located next door to the popular coffee house bookstore. When you enter, it can be a bit overwhelming. The interior is spacious and deep. To the left is a window seat next to hanging aprons which begin the detailed step by step process. This process is displayed and explained on the wall by each station (step). To the right (of entering) is the cash register followed by mixing stations on the same counter. The middle of Slime Kitchen has white tables with matching chairs for little ones to sit. A part of the table top, on one side of the table, is removed to place their basket to develop and massage their slime in. The table is revisited after each station to continue to develop the slime and extend the slime making experience. Options to build and develop the slime included slime texture (fluffy, slimy, cloud...), color or colors to make your slime, and scent or scents to incorporate. At this point, our daughter was directed to a mixing bowl to incorporate her slime selection, color (blue) and scent (pop rocks) into one by using a mixing bowl to do so. Our daughter got to personally add the amount of color and scent she desired with direction of Hailey (based on the outcome our daughter desired). From there, our daughter was given a bucket and a part of the table top was removed for her to play in the slime - ultimately to incorporate everything more. Following each time with her slime, she let Hailey know when she ready to move on (if Hailey had not already checked in with her). Following each selection from the next station, she returned to her table to incorporate the added step and play in her slime more. In the end, her slime was placed into a Slime Kitchen plastic container with screw on lid. There was one group of children ahead of us and a child who followed a little while behind us. Staff, there were two young ladies, were great at accommodating each child without periods of delayed absences. In the end, our daughter was extremely happy with the slime she created, with Hailey adding a little extra glitter to make it that much more beautiful and appealing to our daughter. On the wall, there are take and make kits along with premade slime. To choose this option eliminated the point and the experience of visiting Slime Kitchen. The prices are reasonable to build your own. I included our receipt in the photos of this review, I think $25. We would definitely return again if she asked. Our daughter had an exceptional time and experience. Thank Hailey for adding to that experience! She is such a sweetheart, truly

My kids have been at Wild Roots in Folsom since they first opened during COVID. Back then, my kids…read morehated wearing masks in regular classrooms. Wild Roots was just what we needed! The teachers here are amazing! My middle schooler even had a teacher from his old public school, which was super helpful since he planed to go back to public high school later. This kept him on track (and even ahead) with what he needed to know. Something that I love is that the kids are outside ALL THE TIME! They have class outside, eat lunch outside, and do pretty much everything outside unless the weather is really bad. In summer, they sit under shady trees with nice breezes. In winter, they bundle up with jackets and blankets near space heaters. It reminds me of how European kids spend way more time outdoors instead of being stuck inside all day. My kids have learned tons and made great friends here. If you've read the book "Wild and Free," this school follows that idea perfectly. Kids learn, play, and grow at their own speed. Even if your kids go to regular school, Wild Roots has awesome summer camps that cost less than a babysitter! The kids learn cool stuff while having fun outside. I tell everyone looking for homeschool help around Folsom to check out Wild Roots. It's been such a great place for my family!

They came home proud of their new projects, which were full of ideas I know I would never think of. I felt safe dropping them off and knew they were in good hands with the staff. We will definitely be back!
