The teachers are warm, inviting, and truly care about the safety and well-being of each and every child. Communication with families is a strong suit of the teachers and owner. I always know what's going on in my child's class. Teachers truly care about the whole child - helping them learn but also encouraging and supporting their activities and interests in and outside the classroom. Our Busy Bees teacher even came to our girls' ballet recital and cheered on (and brought flowers for) all the Busy Bees students who performed. I have never questioned safety of my children while at Busy Bees. The curriculum is top-notch and has undoubtedly prepared my girls for TK and kindergarten. This preschool is phenomenal and I'm going to be sad when our littlest kiddo graduates and moves on to the next chapter. The way the school handled Covid protocols was very much supportive of the childrens' well-being and comfort level with face coverings, etc.

When I asked what happened to my daughter to the main teacher, the teacher had no idea and the teacher said to follow up but never got a response back. COVID-19 response The staff never wore masks and never required kids to wear masks but one Monday all staff were masked up, it was eerie. Later that day, the school notified me that my kids were exposed to COVID-19 with no details of exposure, and the school was closed for a week. The tuition was reimbursed. Discipline Policy There was a child who is disruptive and harmful to other students, the school had no procedure to correct the kid's behavior. The kid was aware of no consequences for his behavior and bullied kids who were playing alone or kids who doesn't retaliate. Teachers appeared not responsive until kids scream, cry, or tell teachers for help. Basic manners such as taking turns, sharing with others, and being kind to others were not important to teachers and were not disciplined. If these are not taught in a school, why should I even bother sending my kid here? My kid got chased, sand over her hair, and her sand castle was destroyed by one kid. The staff never tried to stop the bullying behavior, they didn't even know it was happening. Teacher-to-Student ratio The school advertises a 1:6 ratio. One teacher and two assistant teachers for 18 kids. However, that's only in the classroom. When kids are outside at the playground, the teacher stays inside the classroom and only assistant teachers are monitoring the kids.

Kid's Town has all the basics a parent would be searching for. They are organized, safe, knowledgeable and skilled in their field, provide daily reports on eating, sleeping, potty, etc. They're programs with music, art, reading and activities outside are phenomenal. The facility is clean and well maintained. But they are so much MORE than that! I could never possibly express my gratitude and peace of mind I feel when I leave my child with them during the day. They go above and beyond to provide individual attention to each and every child and my child just absolutely adores every staff member as do I. For example, when my son was learning to walk, he was quite fond of trying to climb up the small play structure in the infant room although he didn't quite have the hang of coordination yet. He bonked his head a couple times and before I could even ask a question, the staff literally reorganized the ENTIRE infant room and added some raised soft mats for him to climb on while blocking the play structure until he got the hang of his balance. In response to the other comment on the inspection/report history. EVERY SINGLE CHILDCARE CENTER has had at least one small violation at one time or another on their record. Kid's Town has not had ANY serious violations and they post the findings after every visit is conducted. The visits are unannounced and at the last one conducted in August of 2019, there were absolutely NO violations noted. There will come a day when we will have to say goodbye as we move on to Kindergarten and it will be so bittersweet. We love our second family at Kid's Town.

This is a disclaimer for people considering being employed here, my wife was hospitalized for a few…read moredays and despite us being very transparent with the owner Resa, she communicated with us terribly and kept my wife from working for 2 weeks so she could hire someone else as her replacement for less money. She also will force you to take your one hour lunch as early as possible so she can legally send you home early asap to save money. If you are looking for a full-time job this is not it as you will be told "full-time" yet be sent home early most days. Resa has said that the business is kept overstaffed to ensure the proper ratio of teachers to kids. However her first thought after my wife was in the hospital was to hire somebody and give her hours away. This employer cares nothing for her employees and only cares about money and how to save a dollar. I urge you to stay away and seek employment elsewhere.

They always let me know if my child has been good (or bad), who he plays with, whether he took a nap or not, et.; little glimpses into what his day is like. They always greet my child with such an upbeat and positive flair which makes it seem like they're really happy to see him. I like how I can drop in anytime to see him if I wanted to, and as possible future students, those parents can drop in any time too without an appointment. They've got nothing to hide and aren't trying to just conveniently be "on" when a parent is there. My kid learns. He comes home and sings new songs, uses words he's never said before, points out letters, numbers, and shapes that I've yet to teach him. He gets to be social and learns how to deal with all the different personalities of other children, and make friends. And he does all of that in a nice controlled happy environment. It feels welcoming, organized, positive, and like the staff truly care about the kids and families. A huge thank you also to Ms. Jamie, who was our sons teacher. She has been so wonderful with him, and knowing he was with someone who genuinely cared about him made such a difference for us. I completed my bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies while teaching here and I am now moving on to Elementary. Little Explorers Academy is not just a daycare, but it is a family. Students, their parents, and their teachers collaborate in the most caring way, and we hold each other to the highest standards. LEA is not a corporate daycare that sees a child as a number. Every child is a part of the family, and their teachers care for them in this manner. Staff turnover rates are extremely low at this daycare, as administration promotes the structure of a work-life balance. Students here grow in a Montessori- like- cohort from ages 0-5, and many establish life-long friendships. The infant teacher, preschool teacher, and Ms. K provide students with the best quality education, routine, and meals. LEA has won the best food program award in the Folsom area for the last 5 years in a row, thanks to Ms.K's spectacular cooking, and attention to nutritional value. Students become extremely well-rounded as a result of LEA's program. Graduates from Little Explorers Academy have no problem moving on to kindergarten, as we promote manners, politeness, provide adequate education, and give students a sense of security and trust in their teachers. Ms K was friendly and nice until we requested / asked more details of our daughter's day. Now our daughter started elsewhere and transitioned in just a week and loves it there and we find it a lot more comfortable with transparency. Update: Ms Kuntal, yes our primary reason for leaving was need for care on Friday, nowhere in my review I mentioned otherwise, we had issues with interaction and transparency which also added a reason to move. I would have given 1 star if I felt the care was that bad. I did thank for the service but didn't "praise" anywhere, it's my responsibility to thank for the service. WE DID NOT ask for minute to minute update. All we asked for was everyday menu and not sample menu, and picture of food if it's hard to type the food menu. (Also I didn't feel like half day K was enough for her inquisitive mind.) The school was flexible about our unusual attendance arrangement, though understandably, it didn't cost much less for a half day slot vs. full day. They always made her feel welcome when she came in mid-day. She really loved it there, despite being a kid who chafes at rules at home - she really thrived in that environment. Teacher Angela was fantastic and they quickly gave my child appropriate work for her level since she started already knowing how to read and being able to do basic addition and subtraction. Their written evals were detailed and helpful, and I felt like they really got to know my child in a short time. Their summer program was fantastic and their extended care option was flexible for the times we needed a little extra care. They also had a fantastic "Parents Night Out" where they also welcomed siblings, and we took advantage of that a few times. This is a true Montessori, where kids are expected to learn how to be self-directed. We came from less-rigid Montessori schools, so getting used to the strict dress code was hard for us as parents, but my daughter was fine with it. Our daughter entered a rigorous Mandarin immersion program the next year in 1st grade, and Madrone prepared her VERY well for it. I'd highly recommend it if you are open to a more academic environment for your pre-K/kindergartner and want to encourage independence.
