My son and I took a trip to Placerville. In looking for things to do, we found this spot and were happy to find out it has the same ownership as Gold Country Lanes in Sutter Creek! Knowing that, we had to try it out. So much fun! Just like at Gold Country, we had a blast! We bowled for an hour, had some beverages and played lots of video games and pinball (our favorite). Especially krisi, she is one of the most hardworking staff member I've seen at the bowling alley. We frequent Knotty Pine Lanes. It's def a local family favorite to go for bowling, games and even food!! I swear they are ALWAYS open. Recently they changed management and I have nothing but good things to say about the switch!! It's always been a great place to go but I have noticed that they have lots of new games and even new friendly faces. Krisi (the manager) is awesome! You can tell right away she really cares about this place and the people in it. She's friendly, attentive, and her and her staff keep everything running smoothly, even when it's busy. I have thrown my son's birthday party here the last two years and both times were a great experience. The only thing I needed to worry about providing was the cake and everything else was handled by the staff while remaining affordable. Attended 2 birthdays two weekends in a row at Knotty Pines. My granddaughter's birthdays are a week apart and both had their parties here. This is a great place to have a kid's birthday party. There are party packages that include bowling, laser tag, indoor bounce house, and indoor mini-golf. Nothing so cute as watching 5-year olds bowl. There are also Arcade games for the kids which dispense tickets for prizes. The first party went off without a hitch; the second party not so much. Unfortunately, they ran out of pizza. They were accommodating. They discounted the bill a bit and grabbed frozen pizzas from Safeway. As with most bowling alleys, there is a bar and snack area. This place was hopping. I am sure it was great to be open again. The servers, bartenders and staff were friendly and helpful. The glow-in-the-dark mini golf was fun even though in a small space. It was very well organized and decorated. Fantastic music in bowling alley controlled by the crowd "TouchTunes." The prickly pear margarita was to die for and you could order 24oz beers. The BLT wraps were delish and the French fries were yum. A very eclectic crowd. It was nice to bowl again after a year off and to experience some normalcy. read more

Really frustrating when on a Friday night I call to ask them specifically if there are any leagues tonight. I was expecting them to say yes, but the lady on the phone clearly said no, there are no leagues tonight. I then said, so there should be plenty of lanes tonight, again she answered yes! Then I pick up some of my sons 6 year old friends to drive 30 plus minutes expecting to go bowling to find out there are leagues and all of the lanes are reserved until 9pm. Unbelievable! I came here yesterday because my family out here is out of power so I figure I will do something nice for them but this is the worst bowling alley I ever been to. The service is horrible, it seems like it's a tweaker hang out and the employees look like tweakers all mess up teeth. The pizza was very greasy and only had one pepperoni per slice. Definitely did not have a great experience after having my daughters birthday party there last weekend. I showed up early to set up decorations and our table was t even reserved. The tables the lady said were ours were occupied and she said she didn't want to ask the people to move so she put us in the room outside of the arcade with no A/C and it was super hot. they were late on all the attractions and even the food. Our family has been spending quality time at Knotty Pines Lanes in Pollock Pines for many years. We live in the Placerville area so it's not too far of a drive for us. Since the kids were small enough to need the bumpers, until now when our granddaughter uses the bumpers, we all always really enjoy the bonding time we get while bowling. I love Knotty Pines Lanes! This is a small bowling alley and Rec center in Pollock Pines. The owners are really dedicated and cool. They seem to genuinely love the game. Prices are very reasonable. Food is, well, bowling alley food. They have a large arcade and billiards area in addition to a full bar. Leagues are fun and give you a discount on games. There are also the usual glow bowl sessions, parties, and fun activities you might expect at the alley. Kids love it and they support the local star students with some free games and fun. We came in with our two autistic boys. They talked all day about going bowling when dad got home. We came in 15 minutes after the cut off time for them to prepare for the bowling league.
