They definitely pay attention to details when I'm in class, and make sure I'm doing correct moves to avoid injury. Even if you have a injury they give you alternatives. To summarize, I received a mediocre service (as you'd expect at any average franchise spa) at 4 times the price. Here is a bullet point description of my experience: -Arrived for our appointment. Lady at the front was on the phone. No eye contact, no acknowledgement of our presence; after waiting for about 5 minutes her phone call was over, again no smile, no proper greeting. We got checked in and showed to the lounge. -The atmosphere doesn't make you feel to be at a high end spa. Facility is relatively worn out; there's an underwhelming tea station. Even the last coat of paint on the walls seems very lousy. All fixture corners are covered with paint. -The massage therapist, Hans, was welcoming and showed me to the room. He had it written on a sheet that I'm there for 90 min deep tissue massage. Asked me what areas to focus on and which areas to avoid. Started with the massage, absolutely did not spend more time on the areas I asked him to focus on, treated the injured area I asked him to avoid the same as anywhere else, and absolutely did not do a deep tissue, more like a Swedish massage. Several times throughout the session I could feel his breathe on my face. I thought to myself, at least he's wearing a mask thanks to COVID. Once I opened my eyes at the end, he wasn't wearing a mask! Also No water to drink in the massage room. -Went to the concierge to check out, I was determined not to tip due to the lackluster service I got. My wife was done with her massage a bit sooner and had handed the credit card to another lady at the front. She ran the card and asked "is 20% gratuity okay?" Rather than handing you the machine to tip at your discretion. I guess this is an effective technique for pressuring customers into their desired amount of tip. Staying at Ritz Carlton, we booked this massage expecting a level of care and customer service equal to the hotel! It was day and night unfortunately and we left the spa longing for way more and feeling extremely underwhelmed and unhappy about our experience. The three stars was for the 5 star services themselves. The Spa itself is no where near the quality I have come to expect a Ritz Carlton and would get 1 star. The massage and body scrub services are excellent. I recommend you do both services. They are wonderful. The facial was great. Both therapists were excellent, friendly and knowledgable. If you are just wanting services and want to leave right away you will love it! Also, parking is not included, but for $10 it is reasonable. The spa itself is the issue. They hand you a bottle of water when you arrive. I finished that after the first 2 services. No additional water can be found unless you go to the front desk or your service is about to start or over. No one walks through to see if everything is ok. I was so thirsty before the start of facial, but by then, I did not want to drink anything for obvious reasons. The "locker room", front desk escorted me back and showed me how to use the locker, but they do not assign you a locker. The problem, gym/excercise class people also use the lockers and some do not work. As such, everyone is trying every locker. Next, there were almost no towels when I got there. After my first 2 services, there were no towels left. As to flip flops, they are in garbage like bags and they were all lefts. I found rights and made matches for myself and one other person. I overhead a couple say the mens room had no flip flops. There are no facilities. The sauna was not hot or anywhere close to a sauna temperature. The steam room, to be it frankly, was disgusting and without a towel to sit on I certainly was not going to sit in. Mold/Mildew everywhere and rust coming down the wall by the emergency button. Disgusting! Deep clean and spruce both rooms up. Also, they are both tiny. The waiting areas are also ratty and need a spruce up. Also, I found out as I was leaving I could have attended a class. If I had known ahead of time, I would have brought appropriate clothes. One plus I can return and take the class. read more

Oh boy, seldom do I write negative reviews. I would give 0 stars, but the front staff and ambiance bumped up the review. With that being said, I have never, and I mean never had such an awful experience at a spa on a consecutive basis. In 2015 my friends and I went for my birthday, to which I enjoyed my masseuse. My friend on the other hand had an awful experience with her masseuse. If you're not catching my drift of what happened , think of the 'me too' movement. Corporate got involved, and she still couldn't get a refund... just a free massage LOL. The man was promptly let go from his position, but only after our manager told my friend "I get massages with him, all the time... it never happened to me." Honestly, I don't even know where to begin with that statement ... how dare you? So 3 years later, my friends and I decided to give it another shot by taking a yoga class at their studio. First of all, they gave us the wrong time for the class and (the same manager) wouldn't refund us when we obviously arrived late. No surprise. So we decided to go the next day, and HOLY smokes was this yoga class SUCH a joke. Our instructor not only snapped at the class in the beginning by saying "it's yoga time. Not nap time. Wake up, pay attention!!" But she didn't guide the class at all. She forced people into a tree pose and didn't correct those who placed the sole of their foot near their knee--- this could cause some serious damage. She then went on to say to another student "I said left, not right. Welcome to yoga class, where you'll learn something new today- your lefts from your rights" I can't make this up!!! What a fraud of a "peaceful" yoga teacher, contradicting the practice as a whole. With all of that being said, I will never return. Good riddance read more

I've been attending their yoga classes (my favorite chill yoga) for the past 2 years. I've enjoyed every single one. Morgan is an excellent yoga instructor. Everyone is professional, always smiling. I started doing my mani/pedi Ellen is lovely, she pays attention to details and listens to you. There's always little activities for members and new members. There's always some sort of discount on the board. You'll have to go to the facility to see the discount of the day. The facility is beautiful and relaxing. read more

I was inquiring about joining and I am a resident in BalHarbour on the beach . a friend of mine, went to the pool and asked a question and they were apparently very abrupt. The girl who signed me up was very very sweet and very nice and showed me around . I had to go back later to ask a question and fill out some more information. I was at the desk, and there were other guests there talking to the manager about a treatment and I believe they were hotel guests. I waiting to ask a question.she said "you don't need to stand here you can do that at home". ( filling out some information ) . The man looked at me like he couldn't believe it. Hi Just took the best chill yoga class at Exhale Bal Harbor on Fridays at 11:30 Am with the lovely Leilani. It truly is a mini stay-cation 1hour "event" set in a beautiful studio over liking the ocean. Today the ocean was unruly and dramatic which only served to intensify the warm stillness and calm feeling in our indoor setting. Exhale provides a community for yoga practice unlike any other. The instructor Maria was great, I felt like I had more flexibility in my legs from 60 minutes with her than any other class I've taken combined. My feet are transformed. It's been almost a week. Polish is still shiny without a single chip. She was very meticulous yet gentle. If you're staying at the hotel or live nearby, check it out. We did a spa day for my sister's bday and planned for the 3 of us to spend the day. Unfortunately this spa is better for the workout classes then for the Spa experience. We each had a massage which was fine, however the facilities are not up to Ritz Carlton standards and we found it extremely cramped and tiny. The entire ladies locker room has 2 toilets and 2 showers and a steam room and a sauna - both the size of a small closet. The steam room is literally a small bench that the 3 of us could sit tightly next to each other on, the sauna is not much larger. The locker area is also the size of a small closet and there were 6 of us all trying to get to our lockers at the same time so a bit of a wait for each person to get in ( room fit 1 at a time, maybe two if you are close friends). The staff were wonderful and accommodating and the zen room was comfortable. The "spa" did not have any jacuzzis or whirlpools or any other features beside the steam and sauna closets. You could use the beach, but not the pool area, and the restaurant closes at 3pm so we did not have time for a late spa lunch after our massages. We basically had massages and left. Not the fun day we had hoped. read more

Although the fitness classes are no joke (which is something anyone who is serious about fitness and well-being should appreciate), the relaxing atmosphere and great hospitality make you feel like you're on vacation in the middle of the week! They teach yoga, barre, cardio/core, and boot camp classes. The instructors are energetic, motivating, and respectful. Pauline, the Mind Body Manager, is great! It doesn't matter if you're a beginner or if you're a "frequent" at the class... She will help you reach your fitness goals and adjust the moves to your pace. The location is beautiful. The women's locker room is quite small and the steam shower has been out of commission for at least 3 weeks with at least another to go. I had a 90 minute flow massage which is supposed to be like a deep tissue without the pain and was greeted by a therapist who was hurried and rough. 90 minutes should not feel like that. I would recommend making sure you do not have same experience for a 209$ Massage, plus the 20% tip they automatically add on, you could change that. I did. read more

I went to Exhale on a Saturday afternoon for a 60 min fusion massage. Valet parking was efficient as was only $5 after spa validation. Upon entering the hotel, you are greeted by that wonderful and distinctive Ritz-Carlton smell. The spa is actually a level down from the lobby and relatively easy to find. While the spa is lovely and has beautiful views of the water (ignore the crowds at the park/beach across the waterway), seating was not very comfortable in their zen room. All they have are some uncomfortable chairs and a few sofas with tons of pillows. Unfortunately, the sofas are not deep enough to allow you to really lounge. I think they'd benefit from a few chaise type loungers. They do have an outside area, but given the heat and humidity, I chose to pass. The steam room and sauna, while small, are in good condition and kept very clean by the staff. Same goes for the rest of the changing room. I was lucky the spa wasn't crowded that day, but I can see that being a problem if there are more than 10 people there at a time. For example, there are only 2 showers and 2 sinks. Now to the massage, which was average. My masseuse was really friendly and asked about problem areas ahead of time. I found it weird that the therapy room remained brightly lit (by the sun outside) during the entire massage. I was never asked if I wanted the blinds shut (or maybe there weren't any). So if you are a bit shy, I'd take that into consideration when choosing a male or female masseuse. This really wasn't a problem for me until the massage was over and I needed to take off the mask in a sun-filled room. Ouch! Overall, the experience was good but not excellent. There weren't really any major mistakes, just a bunch of small details that I would've expected to be taken care of at a spa of this caliber. It is, after all, the Ritz-Carlton. read more

We had a really awful stay at the ritz carlton ( see my review there) that included changing rooms 4 times in one day with two small children due to a faulty pipe in the building. My husband was scheduled for a spa appt for 5:30 we went in at 5:20 explaining how we have to change rooms yet again, erin at the front desk told us shed call us with another appointment time. Next thing I hear is we are being charged for the massage bc we were a "no show". Had she told me at the moment, "use your massage youll be charged" i wouldve sent my huaband in. Instead she was chasig my three year old around the spa store and induced anxiety for us to immediately leave and hear back from her regarding an appt for a later time. The next day I spoke to her manager Laura who was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I of course didnt end up paying for the massage (we tracked down the general manager of the hotel who was appalled regarding this whole fiasco after our horrendous stay) but it wasnt without a fight. We ended up changing hotels bc we hated it at the ritz- save your money! Check out the espa acqualina SUPER high end with no sleathy business practices.
