She is insensitive and nasty and she has twisted the truth. Addendum: My freedom to rate and review your lack of professionalism is NOT harassment nor is it bullying. You have violated guidelines in your response here, my privacy and that of the person I referenced to you, although you did not listen to what I said because you have the incorrect name. I am stating facts, and my extenuating circumstances had NOTHING to do with my age! Many people think I am much younger when I talk on the phone and many businesses offer senior citizen discounts. Another bone of contention with you! "Playing a Senior Citizen"??? Really? The offended feelings are mutual!!!! There were other factors that I specified that I do not wish to publicize. This was our first time working with Laura. Our dog is 12 years old and is loosing his sight. In December of last year, we called our regular groomer that Cooper has been going to since he was 10 weeks old, but she was on Maternity Leave and was unable to groom him. Although he was very, very much overgrown and overdue for a grooming we decided to wait until our groomer returned from maternity leave and then decided that we should probably look for a new groomer that could come to our home due to Cooper's age and blindness. We found Laura though Thumbtack and she was the only one that contacted us right away. We live in Middletown and she lives in Coventry. We assumed that she would not be able to come all the way to Middletown, but to our surprise she already has many clients in Middletown and happily agreed to come. Within a couple of days we had our appointment set, and this is during Memorial Day Weekend. Laura arrived at our home at 10:15 a.m. with all her necessary equipment and finished grooming Cooper at 2:15 p.m. She was extremely thorough and gentle with Cooper; talking to him the entire time and taking her time with him. She even checked out his ears and low and behold Cooper had an infection going on in his right ear that we were not aware of. She took pictures of his ear and explained to us how we can clean out his ear better. She was Extremely informative! There was not one mark or bump on him that she noticed that she did not point out to us. She is hands down the BEST groomer we have ever had. Cooper has been with us since he was 8 weeks old and he is only and inside dog and very attached to us, so we could not be happier that we found Laura. You can tell that Laura not only does this for a job, but has a great passion for what she does. We really feel like we hit the Jack Pot!!! Thank you Laura for taking such great care in grooming Cooper and we are already looking forward to our next appointment and I'm sure Cooper is too!!!!

We have a rather long history with Baywood Kennels. They have been GREAT! We had a male…read moreLeonberger who was intact. They wouldn't mix large intact dogs with the general population, but, fortunately, they have multiple play/training areas, so he could go out and play. That is pretty unusual in my experience. Baywood was a great find for us in that respect. They have a resident person at all times and are open , as far as I can tell, 24/7--at least their hours are long enough to accommodate almost anybody, which is handy. They take pains to feed and, when necessary, medicate according to the owner's wishes. Baywood doesn't accept bully dogs as I remember. That has engendered some negative reviews, which I understand, but I have to agree with the kennel on this one. Their policies require that any dog left there must be up to date on all their shots, etc. This protects every animal that comes through. We have had nothing but great service from them from the beginning. They even let me use their training yard at one point. It was a great help in working with a young, dominant dog. I can't recommend them highly enough.

My dogs also had an anal gland problem. My vet didn't see an issue. Because smelly dog and anal gland problems aren't serious health issues. But it was an annoyance in my life. Someone told me about Thomaston feed and how I might want to switch foods. So I went over to Cheshire one day and Nicci switched me to different brand of food called natures variety. She said because it's a richer food, I don't have to feed as much. My dog was overweight at the time so she told me to feed him a little less. Which is perfect because I have dachshunds and it is dangerous for them to be over weight because they are prone to back problems. Within a week of them being in the new food, they stopped smelling. I couldn't believe it. When we ran out of the Natures Variety, my father started feeding them pedigree without my knowledge and I noticed them smelling again!! And sure enough I found out they had been eating something different. There is no denying that there are good and bad foods out there for your dog. And Nicci is very passionate and will take the time to explain the difference between the different foods. And it turned out she was right! My dogs are older now. I have a 10 year old and a 14 year old and they are now extremely healthy and active!
