I went to Evolve with the intent to study and try it out since I have heard a lot of people raving about this place. The employees are nice and gave us plenty of time to look at the menu before we ordered. The space is bigger than I expected, with lots of seating areas, tables, and couches. There are also a lot of outlets anf the music is not too loud in my opinion, so I believe it is the perfect study spot. I ordered Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso with oat milk and I am not the biggest fan of it. There was a weird sour after taste to the coffee which I am unsure where it is coming from. I imagine if it was a little sweeter, it may have been more enjoyable. When I sat down to start on some work, I tried to connect to the cafe wifi, having seen the password posted on a sheet of paper near the counter. The wifi gave me and my friend a couple issues when trying to connect. After about 5-10 minutes of errors and no internet signals, we decided to use out hotspots. We were eventually able to use the wifi after maybe 30 minutes, so if you are able to find a connection, it is fine but if you are unable to, it can be frustrating. read more

I am that person that goes to a coffee shop and orders Tea or lemonade. Luckily this shop did not disappoint me. I ordered the Hibiscus Lemonade which was refreshing. It was a little too tart for my tastebuds but still good. The cashier was quick and very helpful all while keeping a smile. I was with 3 other people and all drinks were out fast. I've been here a few times. They seem to stay pretty busy. The first time I picked up a latte, the service was quick commensurate to how busy they were. The second time, they seemed to actually take quite a long time in the back storeroom before they even got to my latte. They even seemed to have some people's drinks ready that were behind me done first. BUT in all fairness maybe those people's orders were sent in prior to mine via an app. I would still come back by this location. The lattes are a delicious treat and it is in a good location. Having this new location of Evolve so close by might be dangerous for my wallet! However, it's super exciting because it's such a great place to be able to do work and it's a dedicated cafe to Matcha :) . Their hours are also super great (open early in the morning till the evening) and it's located in a pretty calm, safe neighborhood of Lakeview and parking wasn't an issue. I've always wanted to visit the original Metairie location, but haven't had the chance to, but I was excited to see that this new location opened up which is super close to me. I had the Iced White Chocolate Matcha and it was great. Additionally, I had a cinnamon roll which I really enjoyed. They also have seasonal Christmas flavors and I can't wait to make this a regular place to do work and explore all of the different Matcha teas on their menu. I've visited this café a few times, mainly to grab a matcha, and I have to say, the White Chocolate Matcha is my favorite! I haven't really explored their coffee options, though I did try the half matcha, half coffee drink once, and it wasn't the best. This location is notably more spacious compared to their Metairie spot, which is nice if you're looking for a place to sit and relax. I was excited to see a new coffee shop open in Lakeview. Especially after my favorite shop closed down recently, but I don't know that this is going to be my new spot. To start the building is very nice. They have a small parking lot in the back. The building is larger than I expected with tons of natural light, natural wood tones, and lots of seating. It would definitely be a nice place to study or read a book. I came around 4:30 on a Wednesday afternoon, so there weren't very many people inside. The gentleman at the counter was polite and helpful. We ordered a hot matcha latte and a hot lavender matcha latte. Since matcha is one of their specialties, I wanted to give it a try. The matcha is hand-whisked, which is a nice touch. The taste of the matcha latte was good, but not great. The lavender matcha was too strong on the lavender. Overall, decent drinks. I was a bit disappointed in the prices of their drinks. I was hoping for something closer to PJ's or Nola Beans, rather than Starbucks prices. This ends up being pretty close to Starbucks' cost, which is just excessive IMO for what you get. I may come back for Matcha every once in a while, but I doubt I will make this a regular visit. Interior was beautiful and customer service was good. The only and biggest complaint I have is that whoever made my drink did a very poor job. I was so excited to see Evolve in Lakeview, especially since I live in the area and it's super close to my house. I decided to visit today (11/18/2023) since I was running errands and I was craving an egg nog latte. To know me is to know that I love all things egg nog, so when I saw on their Instagram that they had it on their holiday menu, I didn't need any other reason to visit. Well, I walk in and I have to say the inside is beautiful. You can tell care and thought went into the design for this location, and that I appreciate. When I walked in, there was a young lady in the back was washing some things and there were two other young ladies manning the counter. One of them having brown shoulder length hair and was making two orders and the other with the very low haircut was refilling the syrups. The longer hair one saw me when I walked in and did not acknowledge me as I stood and waited at the counter for about 5 minutes. Yes, FIVE (if not more) minutes went by while she couldn't even find the decency to say "hey! Thanks for coming in, we'll be with you in a second." Nope, she proceeded to keep making Jim's order. Then at some point she told the short haired one something and she finally decided to stop refilling the syrups to very dryly say "what can I get you." I know I should have left, and if this was any other situation I would have, but I really wanted to give this location a chance. She made my iced egg nog latte and I left. I am currently sitting in my car writing this review because I cannot believe how poor the customer service was for me. This was a totally different experience from the W. Esplanades location. Although it is a bit out of my way, I will continue taking my business there until the staff at the Lakeview location learn what good customer service is for their patrons. And to top it off, my latte was not good, AT ALL! I know other people may not share my experience, and I am happy for them, but I really don't see myself coming back here. read more
