There's no cliques, there's no competition, I HATE THAT SHIT- it ain't high school. It's just all love and support. And honestly, I don't even wanna go work out because I did my time. I've been working out hella long for hella years. I have nothing to prove, but I work out because I don't wanna age and I love to eat! So yes, I complain and I gripe because I don't wanna do the workout, but I do it and it's encouraging during the time I'm working out and I end up leaving with a smile on my face. What I don't love is the fact of doing floor exercises on the ground, but that's just me. I call it my prison workout.

Personal story: I was definitely intimidated coming to my…read morefirst class of CORE. I knew before hand that they used weights and the workouts definitely looked intense to what I'm used to. Instead of giving into that intimidation I walked into the gym with a free mind, and was going to accept any workout that was thrown at me. My first day was amazing, I never knew that my little arms and my body could do half the movements that were listed for the day's workout. Let alone do movements with a weight heavier than I am. The Coaches here are wonderful! They are all friendly and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to fitness, weight lifting techniques , and how to not injure yourself in the process. They are extremely patient and work with you and your body's capabilities. Like i said. . weights are used. But don't let that scare you. I was not too fond of heavy weights before either . But with my first CORE class, I picked up that heavy weight and actually performed a movement with it (Hang Clean) .. I Felt awesome (HEHE)! Especially because I have always doubted myself and how strong my body can be. The workout atmosphere here is amazing. Everyone around you is basically working towards the same goal. So everyone is either helping/cheering each other on to help you get through the workout. The age group varies from teens - seniors. Yes , seniors. I've seen some older men and women front squat weights heavier than I am. To sum this long review up: -Fun and intense workouts -Excellent workout environment -Friendly/Motivational/knowledgeable Coaches -Age does not matter, everyone can join -Workouts can be modified to YOUR body's capabilities Show up to a class, & Core will take of you..You won't regret it =) *Come and get a free trial pass

Bar Athletics - Where Real Strength Lives…read more Okay y'all, let me tell you why EVERYONE needs to be working out at Bar Athletics in Hercules--not just for the gains, but for the good deeds! I had a NutriPro blender cup jammed shut for DAYS. All my baby's food was locked inside. I carried it up and down my neighborhood asking grown men to open it--nobody could. I went to Target, checked with Amazon, even filed a claim with the manufacturer. I literally gave up hope. Then on a random Monday afternoon, I thought: "Where can I find strong people?" So I googled local gyms and walked into Bar Athletics. Y'all... this kind, shredded man looked at it and opened it in two seconds flat. TWO. SECONDS. Then casually said, "Tell those other men to come work out here." Bonus: I tried working out here years ago and it absolutely whooped my ass--in the best way. Their programming is no joke, and clearly, it builds real strength. So if you're in the area and you're trying to: * Actually get stronger * Be able to open stubborn blender lids * Look good and be useful in society Bar Athletics is the spot.
