I came to David after 9 months or so of chronic low back/hip pain. In my visits, David's questioning helped me learn to describe the pain. I injured my neck in a work-related injury almost 6 years ago and have suffered with chronic neck pain every day since that injury. I tried many things to help the pain. David helped me heal a muscle strain/nerve strain in 3 sessions (over the course of just 2 weeks). I tweaked my neck/shoulder while doing shrugs and a few weeks later that soreness evolved into mysterious loss of strength in my right pec. Every shot I took in my basketball games would fall short. I couldn't do more than 6 pushups without tapping out. I couldn't surf/paddle into waves. Basically, I was unable to activate/fire my right pec muscle and it was atrophying. It feels amazing to have cut my intake of pain medicine in half compared to last year at this time; and this because of the skilled hands and knowledge of acupuncturist, David Blatt. My massage therapist of over 2 years, Beverlie Dunbar, strongly urged me to see David and work with him. It seemed that more pain medicine was ineffective against increasing pain and the side effects of them were troubling. Last year, Workmen's Comp. health professionals had referred me to this type treatment as I have had increasing chronic knee pain due to a work injury over 4 years ago- a large tear, left lateral meniscus. Even with deep massage, cortisone shot, 3 Synvis injections, and losing 40 lbs., the knee pain had gradually increased to a daily 6 to 7 level. David has given me weekly acupuncture treatments since the first part of February 2016. Over 2 1/2 months I gradually stopped 1 extended release pain medication and 1 other for inflammation, Celebrex. Now I use half the dose of medication for inflammation and half the dose for breakthrough pain. I am thrilled that David's focused and dedicated treatments have helped relieve a big part of a built-up blanket of pain that has saturated me for over 4 years. What a relief I feel after leaving the building. I have less pain now; the difference in the weight of it is a tremendous relief going from that heavy level 6 and 7, to of late daily pain level averages of 3-4s with some jumps to 6s.
