Can you imagine half your face drooping and not being able to smile or close one of your eyes? After a traumatic head injury left me in that exact situation, with a neurologist saying "the paralysis might subside and it might not," I began acupuncture and healing with David. Evolution Wellness is a safe and trusting place for whole body care; be it acupuncture, cupping or massage, David so gently taps into the areas in need. He is warmhearted, compassionate and first-class all the way. My face smiles again, and that is a powerful feeling indeed! Thank you for sharing your gift with us. read more

I came to David following a foot injury that had mostly healed, but every morning I was getting weird tingling in my injured foot. Seriously after 1 treatment, the tingling went away and hasn't come back years later. Phenomenal professional! read more

I've now become "that guy." The guy in the Bay Area who's into alternative medicine, and telling all of their friends they should try it. Which is saying something... I was skeptical. I tried chiropractic... I tried pharmacotherapy... I tried yoga... I tried physical therapy... nothing really made a dent. Came here, three days later my pain went down about 20%. I can't explain it, I don't really understand it, but I'm indebted to David, who's apparently not only one hell of a nice guy, but quite good at what he does; which it turns out, is effective for lower back pain. Five stars, indeed. I'm going to keep coming and keep improving until Blue Cross shuts down the gravy train. read more

David is a gifted and attentive practioner. I have been keeping my stress in my jaw & grinding my teeth at night, which is causing dental issues, headaches and continued discomfort. David's treatments have been a lifesaver, allowing the muscles in my jaw and face to relax, as well as my traps and other referring muscle groups. I could feel a difference after the first treatment, and it's continuing to improve with each additional visit. So grateful for him and his fantastic skills! read more

I came to David this past summer to support me with fertility and within six weeks of treatment I was pregnant! If you are seeking help getting pregnant, I can't say enough about David's practice. He is incredibly knowledgeable and makes adjustments each visit based on how your body is responding. He also takes insurance, too, which was a deal-breaker for me. read more

I had been suffering the dreaded "wake up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep" for several months. I am 65 and didn't have expectations to sleep uninterrupted like a young person but I knew there must be a better way than drugs to get a decent night's sleep. I am so glad I went to see David at Evolution Wellness. My daughter and son-in-law had recommended him as he had helped them both with other issues. David listened carefully to me and asked a lot of questions. It wasn't immediate relief and I hadn't expected it would be. Over a few visits, he tweaked his methods and it really worked. I am sleeping well now and know that it that changes, I can go back in for a tuneup. Thanks, David! read more

I have been regularly going to acupuncture and massage sessions with David for about 5 months now. The best word to describe him is, Wow! First of all, I was really impressed that he goes the extra mile and will tell you if your insurance covers acupuncture and massage therapy. His website was really easy to use and you can make appointments from there, too. I originally went to David with concerns about TMJ disorder pain. His combination of acupuncture and massage work with my jaw has helped me to be pain free! I have found that attending bi-monthly visits with David helps to keep the pain from coming back. I also enjoy my regular sessions with David for general "tune up" work. Based on my concerns for the past couple of weeks, he will tailor our session to include a mix of acupuncture and massage to help my body get rid of all the stress placed on it from work and life. I always look forward to my appointments with David, and I always feel much better after I leave them. David is one of the kindest, most nurturing, friendliest, and smartest people you will have the pleasure of meeting! read more

One of the most nurturing, attentive, and both physically and emotionally in tune people that I have the pleasure of knowing... Initially, I began seeing David on the recommendation of my previous acupuncturist, who was planning an extended break from his practice, and wanted to leave me in good hands, so to speak. Seeking treatment for (what seems like) a laundry list of injuries and chronic issues, I met with David to discuss goals and concerns, and with a clear understanding of both, developed a manageable treatment plan that considers over-all, long term wellness with a focus on immediate relief. During sessions, he's incredibly comforting; and if you're anything like me (a wee bit antsy and sensitive), he makes sure to check in during lengthier treatments. He is also admirably passionate about his work, and takes a true holistic approach to healing. (I still need to commit to that detox plan :) soon, I swear!) Practicing with intention, intuition and integrity... David really does heal from the heart! read more

I went to David after having chronic, excruciating sciatica pain for over a year and a half. I could not sit or ride in a car for more than 10 minutes without experiencing unbearable pain. After just a handful of sessions, I was completely pain-free! I had never had acupuncture done before, and David made the process super comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable. I've recommended his services to almost anyone I talk to that has any level of pain - I swear by acupuncture now! read more

David opened a whole new world for me wellness-wise! I decided to try acupuncture for a chronic issue with my lymph and vascular system that causes swelling and discomfort in my extremities--one of those things that modern medicine doesn't really recognize or address--and ended up discovering so much more. David really tuned into everything that's going on with me in a super holistic way--physical, mental, and emotional--and thoughtfully explored different treatments: acupuncture, an herbal concoction, cupping... And I've been so surprised at how much better I feel, not just in my legs and ankles, but progressively better in every way, after every session with him. More energy, less anxiety, better focus--and less swelling. In one session, I practically had an out-of-body experience from the release I felt from the acupuncture. It was so moving, I left wanting to paint and write poetry. *ha* I'm now such a believer in acupuncture and its healing capabilities. And in David. He's just one of those wonderful, nurturing people who doesn't just want to fix the problem on the surface but really wants to get to the cause and get into a real conversation with you and your body. If you are even thinking about the possibility of trying acupuncture, David is THE person to go to. read more

I came to David after 9 months or so of chronic low back/hip pain. In my visits, David's questioning helped me learn to describe the pain. This was really important for me because I didn't realize how much it varied. Sometimes here, sometimes there. Sometimes an ache, sometimes a burning sensation. Sometimes general, sometimes specific. Because I was also seeing a physical therapist, massage therapist, and personal trainer, I was able to be clearer about what I needed and what was working and this accelerated and helped me focus on my recovery. David is willing to try a variety of techniques and isn't locked into one type of therapy. He'll refer you to other specialists if he thinks that might help. My back still feels a little vulnerable but with my exercises and stretching, I am stronger, more flexible and, thankfully, pain free. read more

I injured my neck in a work-related injury almost 6 years ago and have suffered with chronic neck pain every day since that injury. I tried many things to help the pain. I tried regular massages and neck stretches and they helped for a few hours, but the pain surely came back again. My sleep and quality of life suffered greatly. I found David Blatt through his impeccable reviews on Yelp and I am so thankful I did. He performed a thorough inquiry on our first session where he asked many questions but also listened. David is a great listener and his intuitive skills are amazing. We are now a handful of sessions into treatment with acupuncture and tailored massage and wow - the amount of relief I've experienced is great. I have greater flexibility and movement in my neck now. I sleep better. The pain sometimes comes back, but it's temporary. I understand this is a healing process and will take more sessions to really create some lasting progress. I'm really looking forward to my future sessions. In fact, it's my favorite part of the week! I walk out feeling like a million bucks. David is great! I highly recommend you see him if you are in need of relief or just to increase your sense of well-being. read more

David is awesome and offers an array of services from acupuncture to massage your personal training he also does cupping and even some weird electroshock thingy that he connects to the needles in your back. He does not seem to go through a routine with you either he seems to actually ask what's going on with you and alter his treatment accordingly highly reccomended. Accupunture is like legal drugs. read more

I am a first-time acupuncture patient, so I was a little apprehensive. David, however, makes it an enjoyable, spa-like experience that is truly relaxing. In addition to needles, he uses essential oils and light massage to create a soothing atmosphere. David's touch is so gentle I couldn't even feel the needles! Besides being incredible at making you feel comfortable and at-home, he takes very detailed notes about your condition each time you see him, so that it's easy to tell what kind of progress you're making. Although I had never done acupuncture before, I'm totally sold. I had serious pain in my neck and shoulders that had begun to interfere with my daily life. Acupuncture was a component of the treatment process that I believe did much to lessen my pain. After seeing him for about six weeks, my pain has so dramatically decreased that it's almost nonexistent. I highly recommend David and will be coming back. read more

David helped me heal a muscle strain/nerve strain in 3 sessions (over the course of just 2 weeks). I tweaked my neck/shoulder while doing shrugs and a few weeks later that soreness evolved into mysterious loss of strength in my right pec. Every shot I took in my basketball games would fall short. I couldn't do more than 6 pushups without tapping out. I couldn't surf/paddle into waves. Basically, I was unable to activate/fire my right pec muscle and it was atrophying. After taking a few weeks off with no improvement, I decided to try acupuncture for the first time. A friend recommended David, and after just 3 sessions, my pec muscle was working again. Sessions were relaxing, and enjoyable. The needles had a much lighter sensation that I expected, so there was no discomfort, and David makes sure to check in so that you're ok throughout the whole process. David is a very kind, genuine person, and I've quickly become a believer in acupuncture, in David's abilities as a practitioner, and I'll gladly see him again if other issues arise. read more

David is a true healer. My sessions with him were the pivotal element of my healing from chronic illness and relieving symptoms that included fatigue, brain fog, dizziness and neurological issues. I struggled with the after effects of toxic mold exposure and a cascade of associated immune system issues, and David's compassionate expertise was amazing. I felt better after just a session or two, but of course continued to reap more and more benefits as I saw him over the course of a year. All of that, and he's just a great guy. Very easy to chat with, open and professional. Can't recommend him highly enough! read more

It feels amazing to have cut my intake of pain medicine in half compared to last year at this time; and this because of the skilled hands and knowledge of acupuncturist, David Blatt. My massage therapist of over 2 years, Beverlie Dunbar, strongly urged me to see David and work with him. It seemed that more pain medicine was ineffective against increasing pain and the side effects of them were troubling. Last year, Workmen's Comp. health professionals had referred me to this type treatment as I have had increasing chronic knee pain due to a work injury over 4 years ago- a large tear, left lateral meniscus. Even with deep massage, cortisone shot, 3 Synvis injections, and losing 40 lbs., the knee pain had gradually increased to a daily 6 to 7 level. David has given me weekly acupuncture treatments since the first part of February 2016. Over 2 1/2 months I gradually stopped 1 extended release pain medication and 1 other for inflammation, Celebrex. Now I use half the dose of medication for inflammation and half the dose for breakthrough pain. I am thrilled that David's focused and dedicated treatments have helped relieve a big part of a built-up blanket of pain that has saturated me for over 4 years. What a relief I feel after leaving the building. I have less pain now; the difference in the weight of it is a tremendous relief going from that heavy level 6 and 7, to of late daily pain level averages of 3-4s with some jumps to 6s. It's a great time of year and a relief to enjoy it more... Thank you for your gift- this amazing healing gift you know and share David. read more

I started getting Accupuncture from David when I was about 3 months pregnant. I went to him every week until my son was born. Before seeing David i was having terrible anxiety, very claustrophobic, and couldn't sleep. I also had high BP and a lot of hip pain from the pregnancy. Right away David helped me with the anxiety so that I was able to function during the day and sleep at night. He was very skilled at giving Accupuncture and came up with some great Chinese Herbal remedies for me for the anxiety. David is very confident, caring and easy to talk to. Most importantly he took the time to listen to me and my needs. David truly saved my life. read more

David is an incredibly skilled acupuncturist. He has a calming presence and has really listened intently to my chronic symptoms and designed a protocol specific for addressing my key issues. I first went to see David during a really rough patch in my life. I was seeking relief from anxiety and insomnia among other things. My first treatment session was a massage with acupuncture. The reception area and treatment rooms are clean and comforting and David is professional and reassuring. I can't explain why or how, but what I have received is what I can best describe as something quietly profound. It's not so much a cure as it is a healing. I've had about 9 sessions (mostly just acupuncture, but his massages are awesome)and not only am I better at responding to stress, but also sleeping better and my meditation practice has improved. I haven't felt this "whole" in a very long time. read more

David practices the most important skill I think a healthcare provider can exhibit. The ability to listen. I saw David for a series of acupuncture visits and health counseling. David is a real gem. I've been to literally dozens of acupuncturists over the past 20 years and he is in my top 3 faves. He's super attentive, and the needles don't hurt for some reason with him. I had chronic pain on the bottom of my foot and it was 90% better after just one treatment with him. He also helped with insomnia, and also helped my 2 year old son recover from an ear infection. I have seen David multiple times for acupuncture- from meeting me at the door of his office to walking me out at the end, I felt very taken care of. He is thorough when asking you questions about your medical history and I really felt like he is working from a broad knowledge base. The whole time he was putting the needles in, he was checking for my comfort level while also being very confident, which really put me at ease. After the treatments, I feel like I just float off the table and feel more calm and balanced for the next few days. As well, my sleep greatly improves. I highly recommend David if you have sleep problems, trouble managing your stress, or just need a general tune-up. read more

David has been a splendid acupuncturist for me. I came to him with a strange malaise and coughing that had gone on for about four months. He's warm, professional, and offers wonderful followup. I can't recommend him enough! read more

I can't stand needles! I feel that's very important to know given that David was so understanding of this. I'm still open to trying things (especially is I can't SEE the needles) so he worked slowly and patiently with me. I couldn't feel a thing! Well, I couldn't feel the needles - I felt wonderful afterwards. I had an car accident and could start to feel the warning from my injury and this is why I sought out David. He put me on the right path to recovery and I felt better instantly. This guy is good! Well worth it! read more

For anyone seeking a kind, compassionate, and skilled practitioner, I cannot recommend David any more highly. I received weekly acupuncture treatments from David for a course of approximately six months, and was consistently impressed. While acupuncture can be intimidating to new patients, I always felt very safe and comfortable with David. As a female, receiving health care from a male practitioner can be daunting; this was never a concern with David. David treated me, my body, and my boundaries with the utmost respect. David incorporated his knowledge of Chinese medicine (acupuncture, herbs, etc.) with his strong background in Western medicine. He was able to clearly and effectively explain to me what to expect in the treatment room and what steps I could take at home to support my body's healing process. David encouraged me to take an active role in my own health, without intimidating me. During the course of my six months working with David, he helped me balance my emotional life, improve my sleep habits, keep my seasonal allergies at bay, and heal from a minor foot injury. I will definitely seek health care from David in the future! read more

I started getting acupuncture from David after struggling with pain for several months resulting from hip dysplasia and a labral tear. When I first visited him, I was having trouble taking public transit and walking to work due to the pain I was in. I had about ten sessions with David and am doing much better afterwards (just survived an overseas work trip with minimal pain). David was very attentive to my symptoms, checked in with me in between visits to see how I was doing, and also did some acupressure to help with shoulder pain I had. After having really negative experiences with my traditional health care provider, it was a pleasure to visit David, who has a great sense of humor and kind bedside manner. He also was very helpful in figuring out what my insurance covered and arranged for really easy payments which I appreciated. read more
