I had a very bad experience here today. The massage was extremely painful, and despite repeatedly asking for less pressure, it never changed. There was a clear communication issue, and my requests were not understood or respected. The pressure was so intense that I had to ask the therapist to stop the massage early and leave. My back is now bruised. This was not relaxing or therapeutic at all, and I would not return or recommend this place. I don't recommend this place AT ALL. The guy who works here is amazing he gives a wonderful massage and is very pleasant! After recommending this place to SEVERAL people and coming here myself many times today will be my last. The massage was fine, she did more hitting than massaging but I can deal with that. At the end I tipped Wen %20 and she said it was not enough and was trying to make me tip her more. I work as a tipped employee tips are first of all not required second of all service based and third %20 is a good tip! I had an AMAZING massage here. The masseuse seemed to intuitively know where the pain in my back was, and really helped to work out the stress in my body. I got the 90 minute, and was given the full time in a single, private room that was quiet. So bad. I wouldn't recommend this place. It is cheap yes- but spend a little more somewhere else on a good massage. The first 10 minutes I felt like I being given CPR from my back. She was pressing so abruptly and I kept losing my breath. The rest of the time she was just rubbing me in the same circular motion with her forearm. She also left at least 4 times to tend to other customers including answering the phone and checking someone out. No hand washing during that time. I honestly didn't want to tip at all because of the terrible massage and customer service but I felt obligated so I tipped $10. She kept pointing at my tip clearly trying to get me to add to it. I had been here twice before this massage and had an okay massage. It's a sketchy place but it was a cheap massage and I'm only a 23 year old grad student. They had a routine and I wasn't mad about it because I mostly felt good afterwards. Today I went for the third time and it was the worst experience ever?!!! The lady left the room 6 times which they always do, but this time she was paying attention to her phone when she was massaging me and she also barely got my back for some reason. She also didn't get my feet at all. On my back she used her forearm the entire time which did not feel good and I let it be known by flinching but she continued. This lady also DEMANDED A $15 TIP after the massage and I proceeded to tell her that my back did not feel great, otherwise I would leave a tip because I always did before this time. She proceeded to look at me in a really disgusted way, took a picture of my venmo transaction, and shooed me out the door in disgust saying "no tip, no good, leave". Like lady???? I just told you in a nice way that I didn't feel like my back received a good massage. You do not demand a tip in that way!!! This was the most pleasant surprise ever. I actually called on a whim as I had been wanting a massage for days and Coco Massage were bragging 5 stars...but... they were booked so sadly I was going home. Quickly I get a text from the spa saying they have an opening. I call and she also offers me a $10 Groupon add on for stone and aromatherapy that she offered me over the phone. I snagged it. I turn around and drive to a strip mall with the most unassuming outside but am anxious and walk through the doors. They scoop me up ask what aromatherapy scent and off I go. The room was clean and very cosy. Within the first 10 minutes I realize how great my masseur is and ask if he can do 90 minutes. He obliges. So.... I will say hands down it was the BEST massage I have ever received. It was part Swedish, part Thai, even reflexology mixed in. Truly magnificent. I was married to a massage therapist and have had many massages, nothing has compared. He used his whole body, forearms, elbows hands and truly was able to relieve so much stress in all my body. I was so relaxed I almost would have fallen asleep. It was worth every second of the 90 minutes. My masseuse was named Peter. He was gracious and smiled when I told him how appreciative I was. I have had many many massages over the years and unfortunately my experience was just ok at Cocos. I had to ask repeatedly for her to apply less pressure (in odd spots like my ankle bones and the base of my skull-seemed inexperienced maybe). Then at the end she asked me to tip her $30!!! Went with a friend of mine to get a massage. We were presented two people, one male and one female. The male was generally pleasant. The female was being extremely rude and rushing us to take off our clothes. She kept leaving my friend during the massage to attend to other customers. She didn't allow us to feel very welcome. She treated us as if we weren't supposed to be there, as if she didn't want our KIND there. She was being racist and demanded a tip afterwards. This is by far the best value for any type of massage therapy. My preference is deep tissue and Coco did not disappoint me. The therapists are respectful and listen to your needs. My deep tissue massages from Coco are the best I've ever received. Coco does a very good job of finding the areas that are knotted and tight Her massages are wonderful and soooo effective.
