Sarah P at the Eatontown location of Evolution -The Salon has been doing my hair for a long while now. At first I came to her after years of finally not touching my hair because needless to say I was a box dyer and Supercuts girl and didn't know any different. Well I've added pictures to show the transformation and the fun I've went through with Sarah! She is absolutely perfect and I would recommend her to anyone! She has helped me with changing my appearance and as we know as women a hair change does us good sometimes. I always leave there happy and with healthier hair than the last time! I feel Sarah is knowledgeable and patient. She is also conscious of my budget when I'm in need which I thought was nice of her because she took the time to keep that in mind and saving me the awkwardness of having to ask her every second. She taught me how to blow dry my hair as well as allows me to bombard her with hair questions between appointments. I mean you can't get much better than than! As you can see I can't say enough good things about Sarah and I am happy to share these good experiences with all of you, I always tell he she's changed my life ;) read more

Kate at Evolution in Shrewsberry is fantastic! She is so pleasant and professional at every visit! My hair started dark brown and she is helping me reach my icy blonde hair goal! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a beautiful blonde style! Kate is also incredibly accommodating with her schedule and she is always adding new appointments to accommodate clients! She also helps me with products to keep my hair looking it's best. With color treated hair, especially blonde, I feel the color tends to turn brassy but she has recommended great shampoos and conditioners at the salon to keep my color as well as keep my hair looking and feeling healthy!! Anyone in the area looking for a great cut, color, blowout or style should absolutely call Evolution and book with Kate or reach out to her through social media! She's absolutely fantastic!! Thanks Kate!! read more

I began going to Evolution in August of 2018, have been there twice since, and can say with confidence that it is truly the best salon experience I have ever had. I have gotten my hair done at two other salons for years previous, and after visiting with Kate at Evolution, I will never go to anyone else! She is always so professional and has a set plan that she explains to you for everything you want done to your hair. She helped me get to the perfect caramel blend that I've always wanted and even gives me tips to help it to stay salon perfect between visits with her. I would highly recommend Evolution and Kate to anyone looking for any hair service. Whether it is a slight change or a complete transformation, Kate can do it all! read more

Kate has been doing my hair since October and I've been going to her since. Kate is so professional and always gives me what I want. I went from brown to blonde and she never disappoints. She always suggests products that go best with my hair so it can last long (especially with the blonde) and so my hair doesn't get damaged. I love how she is so flexible with scheduling as well. She will work around your schedule and not a lot of people will do that. She is amazing at her job and it shows in her work! I highly recommend if you need a new hair stylist and you live in the Shrewsbury area, book with Kate, she is the BEST! Her instagram is @kategaynorhair to see all of her talented work. read more

Started going to Ken 5 years ago at the recommendation of some friends (all of which go to him) and have not looked back! He is truly the best colorist and stylist in the area. If your looking for a New York cut and color without the New York price, Ken is your guy! No one in the area compares. His staff is top notch as well - very accommodating. Ken always steers me in the right direction in term of cut and color. The one time I insisted on going red against his recommendation, I called him the next day crying bc he was right and he immediately corrected it for me. I would be a mess without him! The team at Evolution is one of the best in NJ. Kenneth leads a team of talented stylists who are expert in creating modern, sophisticated styles. Kenneth and his team take the time to get to know you and understand your style needs. The atmosphere is relaxed, the team is professional, and Kenneth expertly handles all of his clients' needs. In over twenty years of searching NJ salons, I have never found someone who knows hair as well as Kenneth. He and his staff are the most skillfully trained and talented stylists I have encountered. Going to Evolution to get my hair done is always a wonderful experience. I went to Kenneth 8 years ago based on a friend's recommendation and will not let anyone else do my hair! I drive over 40 minutes to get my cut and color done by Ken, it is totally worth the time. For years, I had mediocre hair and now thanks to Ken, I have amazing hair!!! I get compliments all the time and people always ask where I go. I have had nothing but fabulous experiences at the salon with Ken and his staff. I have seen many of his interns go on to have their own list of clients and even had Hannah do my hair for my wedding. I recommend Ken and Evolution to everyone. read more

Marci is a complete life saver! We met for the first time after a different salon turned my hair orange and broken. She not only salvaged my beyond damage hair but she made it a beautiful golden blonde. I cannot thank Jon and Morgan enough, I went to the location in Monmouth Beach today and they saved my hair! I was very distressed as my hair were a very innatural peach color, after going to another salon yesterday and asking for a lighter brown color, compared to my natural one, with touches of rose gold. I now have a nice dark blonde with a good cut and beautiful highlights, althought my hair were so bad we will get to the result I was looking for originally (meaning yesterday, when I went to the first salon), at next appointment. I've never had nice hair. That's changed since I started going to Sara Marie at the Eatontown location! About a week and a half ago Sara did balayage on my hair. She also took the time to give me a tutorial on how to best style my hair with my new color. I have never in my life received so many compliments on my hair! I have passed on styling tips to my friends. When Sara finished my hair she received a compliment from another stylist. He said, "Sara, you're killing it on the balayage!" I couldn't agree more. When I look at my hair, I can't believe that it's mine. Thank you so much SARA MARIE! You have a client for life. read more

Evolution is such a great salon company. They are very accommodating and will try their best to always make sure you are relaxed and enjoying your experience, no matter what location you are at. I was always a "plain Jane" haircut, but the stylists gave me their expert opinion and convinced me to try different layers and angles (which I love). I have had my hair cut and blown out in three of the four convenient locations, and even get my eyebrows waxed in the Monmouth Beach location. Since the salon was…read morespacious and was well staffed, they were able to handle our whole party and keep the salon open for regular business. I'm not sure if this was provided by the salon or the bride, but there was a table in the center of the salon which had bagels, muffins, juice, mimosas and water for us to enjoy while waiting. Since we couldn't all have appointments at once, it was nice to be able to have a little nosh. I believe there were two or three stylists working with our group. Cassie did my hair and did a great job. I knew I wanted some sort of flowy curls with half of my hair out of my face, but I left the rest up to Cassie's expertise. Cassie and a few other stylists strategized and then she got to work. It took a while to curl my hair but my hair is very thick and wavy so that's expected. She meticulously went through each section. I was very happy with the end result. I only wish a few more pins and spray had been used. I had to run back to the salon to pick up a friend a little after my appointment and another stylist was able to touch me up which helped the style last through most of the night. The whole party, especially the bride, looked gorgeous so I would certainly recommend Salon Concrete for your wedding or formal hair needs.

I…read morewas at first really happy with the results: A few days later, after leaving my hair straight and unstyled, I noticed that the face framing of my long bob was very much one sided. The left side of my hair was actually longer in the front than it was in the back, while the right side was significantly shorter in the front than in the back as it's supposed to be with face-framing. Backstory: I have been in Boston for a summer internship but came home to NJ for one weekend and decided to get my hair done here since my mom raves about Salon Concrete all the time. I noticed the unevenness when I got back to Boston and figured they wouldn't mind fixing it up a little for me when I got back...WRONG! I just called Salon Concrete, granted it's been a while since I figured it didn't matter when I call them because I won't be back until the end of August, to let them know about my hair and that I'd like to come back to get it fixed. The receptionist that I spoke to this time around was incredibly unpleasant and unfortunately I didn't get her name. I was informed that when I returned home from Boston they would not fix my hair but I could pay for another haircut since the grace period has ended. I understand that when I return from Boston a few weeks will have passed since my haircut, but the mistake will still be there! It would really only take them 5 minutes to fix it! I'm VERY disappointed with their customer service after my appointment. I will not be returning to pay another $70 for a quick fix that should not cost me anything because it should not have happened in the first place, I of course understand that people make mistakes and that is okay with me. I do not understand why Salon Concrete thinks it's okay to let there mistakes go unfixed. Aside from the fact that Salon Concrete will not fix their mistake, Kristen and Nina were both great. Nina did an awesome job with my color and aside from the one mistake, I'm loving my cut from Kristen. I simply cannot overlook the rude receptionist and the terrible customer service that followed my appointment.
