I give this review because I had one of the most horrific experiences in my life at this salon. They made me feel so unwelcome. I was charged $140 for just getting half a head highlights n left w wet hair! Nothing else! They refused to dry my hair complaining they were going home! I've never paid this much before to just have wet hair! I went here because it seemed like a nice place but it was a total waste of my time and money. To think they couldn't even dry my hair!! I have been using one of CoCo Bond's waxer's for over 30 years. During the holidays,I booked a waxing at the salon. I arrived at the salon for my 15 minute appointment late due to excessive traffic in the area and no parking in their parking lot. I had to pull into their lot and then leave their lot onto a very busy street to find parking elsewhere. When I got up to my appoointment my appointment was already filled with the next client. I offered to stay or go to another person, but no appointments were available. If my appointment was filled with the next client, and the following client arrived early and was taken early as well, then logically there should have been time at the end of the day to fit me in. Needless to say , I went down stairs and the front desk told me that I had to pay for the canceled appointment. This is not the way any business owner should treat a long standing customer especially knowing that there is excessive traffic and no parking in their parking lot, Not only did I not "blow off the appointment" and was willing to go to another waxer, but THEIR parking lot created half of the problem. A simple 'SORRY" we cantt fit you in and have a happy holiday would have been fine. I left the salon, rather than argue infront of their clients , and called back to discuss this with them and was told that "THIS IS OUR POLICY". "IF YOU WANT TO COME BACK EVER FOR YOUR HAIR OR OTHER SERVICES YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE" I am extremely disappointed in their customer service and feel tht the only person they are hurting is the waxer who just lost a long time client. I understand that they have a "POLICY" but a good service provider would know that they need to bend their policy in certain situations. I guess they are just so BUSY that they really dont care about customer service and only care about $$$$$$$$. read more

I have had good experiences in the past here but called yesterday for a last minute blowout appointment for today. They said they would put me in but never told me who it was with or said anything else. I got called into work for today and had to cancel my appointment. I was told I will have to pay the full service fee. First of all, if this is the policy I would think they'd say it to you upon booking and obtain a credit card. Would they just charge a card that I used there 3 years ago? Second of all, during a global pandemic - would I still be charged if I was showing symptoms and was reluctant to come in and put anyone at risk? Lastly, I go to salons every week- Kevin Kelly, The Concept and Salon Evolution- I've never had this issue elsewhere with rescheduling or canceling especially given what's going on in the world currently. Also, the receptionist yesterday and today left a lot to be desired in terms of customer service. Disappointed. read more

Sadly, I have experienced poor customer service with one of the receptionist on numerous occasions but no salon is perfect and i will not let it come in the way of being a client.. I've been getting my eyebrows done by Christine for about a year after a nightmare at another salon and she worked magic on them. I get so many compliments and inquires if i have them microbladed, shes incredible! and if you're looking for a stylist who is well rounded and can transform and control ALL hair types; Shauna is your girl. My Brazilian Blowout at Coco Bond was one of the single worst salon experiences I've ever had. First, my hair: The treatment was done hastily without care, taking only an hour to complete, instead of the typical 2-2.5 hrs. The stylist disregarded how I part my hair, leaving my bangs sticking up at a 90 degree angle like Alfalfa. She also pressured me to buy products and color my hair that same day, when it's known you must wait 2 weeks after keratin before getting color. I'm also skeptical I actually got the Brazilian Blowout formula. I've been doing the treatment for 10+ years and had it since going to Coco Bond, and theirs didn't smell, or perform the same. I only use sulfate-free/ sodium chloride-free shampoo, and the treatment was basically out in a few weeks. My mom had a different Coco Bond stylist do a Brazilian Blowout a week later and hers not only didn't last, the iron scorched and thinned a patch of her hair. Second, salon hospitality: My stylist made several inappropriate comments, including asking me if I was afraid someone would "rob" me for my LV tote. I never complained to management, and it may be that my friend cancelled her appointment after my ordeal, but the stylist left several messages on my answering machine and continued sending me friend and message requests on various social media platforms until I finally blocked her 3 weeks later. If there was a follow-up regarding the appointment, a salon manager should have been the one called. ONCE. I'm uncomfortable that they shared my number with this woman. Additionally ... during 2 of my previous Keratin appointments, the stylists, who I was told block off 2+ hrs of their schedule (thus the deposit), had an assistant do half the treatment while they fit in other customers. Cole passed me off to a hair washer while she cut an infant's hair. That's unacceptable when she charges $300+. With all of the salons in Red Bank, don't waist your time. read more

I've been going here for an entire year and I'm super sad I'm moving out of the east coast, because it means cutting ties with the people that made my hair amazing. I get the works done here 1) Cut. Layers, movement, bouncy, it's pricey but I get it cut while I'm getting my.... 2) Highlights. They (Jenna is my girl) usually does a double process because my natural color is black. She dyes the base a brown and adds highlights. I go every six weeks religiously because I hate the the tri-color grow out that occurs 3) Brazilian Blowout (or Salon Tech if you're afraid of the cancer stuff) - I go every 3-4 months, and again, this salon is totally professional, friendly, competent and extremely trust worthy. The ambience is great, the staff is friendly, always offering coffee, tea, biscotti. Appointments are easy to make, they really work with their clients. So my stylist Barb recently moved here and so I decided to follow. This location is a new location. They are in Shrewsbury in Broad st. Not in little silver. It is a house style place. It has a Baltimore row home type of feel. The hair is on the main floor, manicures, facials & pedicures are on the second floor. The stairs are fairly decent but you should still be careful. It feels a little cramped upstairs in the wax/facial rooms. But the mani/pedi room is fairly spacious. I will be returning as my stylist is there. I have been looking for a salon that did top notch work for the longest time. I use to go to a small salon where I met Marci and she ultimately left to go work at Salon Coco Bond. I followed her there and now not only do I have a great place and person to do my hair, I have a place to do my nails without the fear of getting some weird infections. April did my Dazzle Dry Mani and it was amazing. They came out great and it was nice to finally be able to converse with a nail tech that does my nails. My husband and I have a spa day booked in 2 weeks so we can try the many other services they offer! Love love love! And the ambience is amazing. I was looking for somewhere in the area to do the Magic Sleek and my cousins friend said to go to this salon. I am happy that I did ! The salon itself is beautiful and the ladies when you walk in are so welcoming! I got my treatment done by Harleigh who was really friendly and did a great job. She spent time with a consult at the start of the appointment which was very helpful because my last experience with a straightening treatment was a botched treatment at different salon. She wasn't trying to push any specific treatment but instead gave me me the options and info on each ( Magic Sleek vs Brazilian) and let me decide. I decided to stick with the Magic Sleek. I'm still trying to decide if I like the treatment over Keratin but am so happy to have found a great salon in the area and I will definitely be back! read more

I have been going to Coco Bond for three years and am extremely satisfied with the service. I have thick, ginky and unruly hair that has been tamed by the many services available (Brazilian, cuts and color). Erin is my stylst and I think she is great. Everything she has recommended for me has worked. As a boss, I see her providing seminars and workshops so that her staff remains current and proficient. There is a level of teamwork and respect that is working among her staff that is sometimes lacking in salons locally. I have lived in Monmouth County my whole life and have seen most of the salon prices skyrocket. The prices at Coco Bond are competitive. Salon Coco Bond is a solid salon business, all the way around. I've been pampered, had my hair "fixed" from extensive damage I do to it with too much salt water & sun, flat irons, blow drying, taking brushes through it, etc. First, the management makes every effort to make it a physically beautiful environment. Politely offered beverage services, snacks, hair style lookbooks, a comfy waiting area and a full suite of products round out the amenities. ( As of this posting, ownership has installed full-spectrum, eco-responsible lighting that naturally illuminates- giving you and your stylist true color representation, resulting in effects that look great when you emerge into natural light.) As for the talent, I have my main guru Tracey, but have had to use the services of other team members when my schedule doesn't work with Tracey. Mary Jean, Nicole, and a host of others have stepped in to do wonderful updos, cuts and color, straightening, etc. When things get busy at the salon, the team help each other out. They support each other, making it a wonderful, smooth operation. It's just a solid team, working hard to make every guest feel welcome, cared for and beautiful. As for the errant negative reviews, we live in a world where, sadly, entitlement rules. People want to have *everything* delivered to them *immediately* for a cost next to nothing- and they want it done exactly like how they picture it in their minds- no matter how much it may defy all natural laws of physics. I'll stick with working as a research scientist, thank you- it's far easier than owning a salon. You can't please everyone as a business owner, but every three months or so, I get to see a group of talented professionals give it their all toward this end.
