They have a $200 fee for coming out that covers repairs if they do not need to install expensive equipment. I think that is very reasonable in today's world. Rick, who lead the team, strikes me as being honest as the day is long. It is so good to find intelligent, honest, and competitant craftsmen to fix stuff when it needs. When I asked him how long he anticipated such a job might take, he said between two and four hours. I suspect that his high end timeline was probably an overestimate, but even at four hours, that worked out to over 400.00/hr. At two hours, it was twice that. They called me to follow up as soon as he left and lowered it to $1100. I still insisted on a second opinion. After having another electrician come out, he said the wire did not need to be replaced.
