Also if you spend under £50 they add on a fee and if you pay by card they add on something else. Only any good if you want to buy alot. They sell toys, household items, stationary etc, but alot of it is junk. They don't sell food. The staff are rather abrasive. Parking is a laugh - there is about 20 spaces; and it is usually chaos with every man for himself - likewise trying to get a trolley.

The staff are always friendly and helpful, and in fact, I've only ever seen the one guy working there, and let me tell you, he knows just about everyone in the neighbourhood! It's the independant 'Mom and Pop' business that is championed in a market economy; the 'little guy' we've been trying to protect from the big bad chain stores. They own a little flower shop next door, so while you're out buying the produce for the gourmet meal you're making your significant other for your anniversary, pick up some fresh cut flowers as well! They will not allow you to buy anything which is un-ripe or unhealthy. And with service like this, you'll never want to get your veg from Tescos ever again.

For competitive prices that you can only really beat at superstores like tesco you get top-quality pleasant service and top-quality fruit and veg, along with the feel-good factor of knowing you helped a small local business. I've yet to come across anything that has tasted slightly off, or even gone off before use, from Anderson's and I will still be shopping here for my fruit and veg even if Tesco's were to open right next door to my flat - it would be well worth the short walk.

Everything from cleaning materials to paper plates, cups napkins etc and food. Most of the products are excellent value for money, and various deals can also be picked up. There is also a sizeable freezer section and fresh food section. The only thing is that it can be fairly cool to walk around and there aren't always staff on hand for help and advice.

Every corner you turn, there are greasy grub vendors and the waft of chips and curry sauce from the surrounding scoffers. The whole place has a kind of carnival day out feel to it, with its market vibe and kids' amusement rides in the centre. Each "street" (quaintly signposted, including Del Boy Way) is filled with stalls and shops, selling the weird and wonderful, from toys and tat, to piercings and portraits. The Forge Market is a little time warp of a place, untouched and unspoiled by the modern day, and I very much hope it stays that way.

Their range of fabrics is huge, and a few definitely caught my eye - especially the red and black fur. They have buttons and wool; patches and ribbons; and a seasonal Hallowe'en section. The Hallowe'en section has small accessories such as wigs, hats and masks. It's made me want to start making my own clothes, but this will probably go the same way as my jewellery-making, hat-knitting and my "eBay business empire".

They have a fantastic selection of fabrics, sewing accessories and buttons (I had to once try and find 100 of the same buttons and this was the only place in the city that seemed to be able to meet my demands!). It's huge and light and airy. The staff are keen, and you won't leave empty handed. Promise.
