I thought this cash and carry was great when I first went in, everything look very cheap, but by the time you add on VAT it isn't so cheap. Also if you spend under £50 they add on a fee and if you pay by card they add on something else. Only any good if you want to buy alot. They sell toys, household items, stationary etc, but alot of it is junk. They don't sell food. The staff are rather abrasive. Parking is a laugh - there is about 20 spaces; and it is usually chaos with every man for himself - likewise trying to get a trolley. read more

This cash and carry has an appalling customer service level. I had to make a return trip after several items I had were busted open and had pieces missing. I was told no returns, they have never had returns and I should take it up with the manufacturer as it was their fault and not the shops. I had a good ten minute argument with a rude older gentlemen who insisted i had brought my whole order back when I only brought 5 items backs out of 30 or 40. He yelled at me when I never raised my voice to him once. Trading standards is clear on the matter if an item is not as described or fit for purpose then its our right to ask for a refund. After ten minutes I got a credit note and told never to come back as they won't serve me here. Which I find quite shocking as I would imagine that's equal to theft of my money and a good £40 of my money at that. I have a credit note but I can no longer shop there. Aisles are crammed in and you can't your trolley down, everything has a layer of dust that I don't think Kim and Aggie would want to clean, its quite dirty. There are other more respectable places in Glasgow to spend your money and at cheaper prices. Needless to say I will march back in there and make a purchase with my credit note. Not because I want to but for the sheer principal of the matter. After all I have spent well over £1000 in the run up to the x-mas period and this is how i get treated. It was quite embarrassing and childish. IN front of at least 10 people, you may respect your elders in India but in Business and in Scotland respect goes both ways. Disappointing store, displays, staff and cleanliness. read more

Dear Reader, If you have read the reviews by "Barbara J" and "Ross K" their experience seems to conflict with my experience of Bonnypack over the Last 23 years. In Bonnypacks defence I would like to address a few of the points raised by their comments. Firstly It is a cash & carry "wholesaler" and Wholesalers generally sell in "Bulk" to make a profit. Therefore if you spend less than £50 pounds you are not buying in bulk and a small surcharge is made. Business's who are vat registered claim back the vat paid on purchases and it is deducted from their input Vat on their vat return. Lets take an example you can buy a 36wat 4ft tube in Bonnypack for around £2.00 plus vat = 2.40 at present or 40p vat or buy a 4ft tube in B&Q current price £14.00 link http://www.diy.com/departments/ge-2-pin-t8-36w-fluorescent-tube-bulb-l1200mm/66022_BQ.prd?_requestid=8078280# Now that's what I call a Bargain! I will say to those who read Barbara's review there are similar Bargains throughout Bonnypack with a few area's with particularly good saving's like the SD Cards phones and telephone accessories department, The Tools section is very comprehensive and very very good value. In finishing responding to Barbara J I would add there are spaces for 50 cars in the car park and it is busy at the weekend but the spaces turnaround is quite good and there is ample street parking available. As for the staff, Bonnypack have staff allocated to different sections of the store and if asked will get you the person who deals with the products you are looking for...Again it is not a retail store their main purpose is to maintain the stock on the shelves they are not customer advisor's and another great benifit they never pester you like retail stores asking if you need help they expect you to know to ask if would like help. Now on to Ross K, What you say does not stack up I'm afraid, you say several Items were "busted open and had pieces missing" I can only argue that you were the person putting the items in your basket did you not check them before doing so? did you not stand and watch at the checkout while they were taken from your basket and put into another basket. So if you put busted open products in your basket I have to ask why? If you did not put busted open products in your basket and you happily paid for them...When did they get busted open? As for the narrow aisles there are a few aisles where signs clearly state no trolleys that's because "sadly" (and I'm not saying you) some customers do not give a rat's backside if they damage goods that do not belong to them and I think that's fair comment. I am not going to comment on how you were dealt with since I was not there and cannot possibly know both sides of the argument to make any judgement on the issue. All I can say is in 23 years I have been a Bonnypack customer I have saved a small fortune on Tools, stationary, kitchenware, and electrical goods and have often bought a boatload of stocking filler toys at Christmas. I have been helped by the staff on many occasions and always with a pleasant manner. To anyone looking to save money by visiting Bonnypack Bargains are where you find them there are many cash and carry's in and around Glasgow for some things one will be better than the other but you will never know if you don't have a look around. It is not a department store it is a wholesalers and if you buy in bulk or own a shop you will be able to negotiate further discounts. Oh and by the way as far as food is concerned there is a fast food van always in the car park. And the toilets though basic have always been very clean with ample soap available. read more

I have used Bonnypack for over 20 years, mainly as a trade buyer and have never had any problems. The products are of a price and quality comparable to other, strictly trade only, warehouses in Glasgow. I have always found the staff courteous, helpful and honest. Re comments about not taking bags in, this is standard practice in wholesalers and, indeed, some retail shops in Glasgow. Also, while there is a charge for paying by credit card, there is none for using a debit card. Top marks to them. read more

I've been to Bonnypack quite a few times since I run a restaurant and they have lots of bits and pieces that are suited to my business at reasonable prices. However, since having a baby boy last year, I too, was slightly mortified that I could not take my 4 month old in his buggy. He was far too small to sit in a trolley and being told (quite rudely) that I could not enter with the buggy has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I left and will not return again. All in all I have probably spent over £500 over the years so they have lost a valued customer. PS. Always do a rough count of your total before and after tax as the man behind the till is known for deliberately adding on charges. I caught him at it once when i was buying lots of items and he just replied;'Oops" read more

I drove 20 miles to get to Bonnypack today, so that my little boy could spend his pocket money as he did last Saturday. I brought my newborn premature twins with me. I clipped both their car seats onto the frame of the pram and was about to go in when I was turned away for having a pram by a horrible man who made me cry. There was nowhere to conceal any goods I might have chosen to steal as I only had the frame with the seats clipped on. Needless to say, I won't be back (which is a shame as I've spent a fortune there over the years) and my friends wll be boycotting it too. This is discrimination and I am considering taking it further. read more

i reguarly go to bonnypack i agree with everything above you think you are saving but you arent and the staff are very ignorant although it is handy for some items if i could find the items i need in a shop id happily and prefer to buy it their . I have started to go to ABC cash&carry it is better and i think is cheaper with no surcharge add on that is biggest rip off that bonnypack charge you for the pleasure of you buying from them read more

very rude, unprofessional and racist staff. They are full of hate against Arabs. After cashier misbehave with me I went to complain to the manager who was even worse. When I threatened to complain to police of hate crime they said you cannot prove it. This is the only place in Scotland where i felt no justice no respect no humanity. I really hate this place and will never back read more

Was a little dubious about going here after reading the other 2 reviews, but went and glad I did!! Plenty of trolleys, lovely staff and great bargains to be had! Only downside was the car park a little on the small side and rather a lot of potholes! Plenty of spaces during the week but imagine the weekend would be a little hectic! Fab snack bar on site tho lol!!!! read more

I was greated by a lovely pakistani man who was very friendly. Although some of these comments are quite discouraging towards Bonnypack, I find it a wonderful place to go and buy things. They have pretty cheap prices too actually, on everything. I would highly recommend going to Bonnypack. read more
