Not that I'm cheap, I just can't routinely afford to drop £120-£150 on a handbag! Kris and I were greeted warmly by the 2 sales staff, and left to peruse the bags. After 5 mins, one of the ladies came over to offer help and advice on the 2 bags I was humming over. She wasn't pushy and offered honest input on my decision, which was very refreshing. I eventually settled on a navy leather and tartan satchel (I'm reliably informed this was exclusive to the Glasgow and Edinburgh stores.) and so I headed for the till. The 2nd sales lady was equally lovely, commenting on my choice and explaining that something was wrong with their POS system so they couldn't print a receipt. However they took my email and sent it to me instead! I feel more shops should do this - receipts do become a waste of paper and this seems a more eco-friendly way; and means you can print it only if you need to. I genuinely felt so special shopping in the Cambridge store, definitely pop in if you have a chance!

I went to my cart and starting the purchase process, just to see how much shipping was - in case I wanted to add on a key chain for the free shipping instead. The website charged me without ever giving me a total or shipping cost. I didn't confirm the order or the amount. The bags are awesome and great, but beware before you start the purchase process online. The shipping was about $23.

Domo is a luggage shop at Silverburn and caught my eye with the bright yellow bags. Inside there was a pretty decent range of bags - not just luggage - which were pretty nice but even heavily discounted I wasn't that excited. The shop overall reminds me of somewhere you'd see at an airport rather than a nice place to buy yourself something special. I didn't bother looking at the luggage part of the shop as I'm well stocked for that, and if I was going to go handbag shopping at Silverburn I can't say I'd think of coming back here, sadly.

Located in Princes Mall, next to Edinburgh Waverley Train Station, it stocks loads of cool bags. When I came through previously I was carrying my Asda bag for life plastic carrier. I was not looking cool at all and to be honest I hate carrying things in my hands as I'm always worried I will put down somewhere then leave it by accident. Here was like an "Ahhhhhh!" moment for me and they had great wee backpacks. They had ones ideal for what I needed. I was introduced to cool Prosport cartoon bags. I loved them all!!! I picked with one with a pirate lady theme. I loved it! The girl was lovely and helped me picked one where you could see my pirate lady clearly. Now my Asda plastic carrier bag now lives in my awesome sexy pirate lady mini backpack. It's affordable and they have a really good selection. They also stock travel sized bags and cases. In our case (excuse the pun) though we just head straight to our favourite Prosport bags.

A strange mixture, but interesting to have a browse around, and to be honest, the mall doesn't offer much else to browse. I don't really go in for bright colours, diamanté and big chunky buckle type bags, or anything with cartoon characters on, but if you did, I'm pretty sure you could find something here. They stock quite a lot of Betty Boop (inspiration for the name, perhaps?) and Spongebob Squarepants figurines and memorabilia, which is reasonably priced for that sort of thing.

And you wouldn't be entirely wrong. It's true, this shop does stock all outdoor equipment but especially shooting, fishing and walking. But if you're looking for any type of high-end outdoor wear then you should definitely give this place a visit. For example, it's the only place I've seen in the city centre that stocks any decent-sized range of Musto products, which we used a lot for sailing when I was little. The quality of the service is in line with the prices. Staff were polite, friendly and extremely efficient without being intrusive. Which is just as well, as their stock isn't exactly cheap.
