TK Maxx is one of those Marmite type stores. You either love it or hate it! I personally love it but even then I need to be in the mood for a good bargain hunt and have a couple of hours to spare. Of all the TK Maxx stores in the Glasgow area this is by far the best. It is huge and while the layout can seem a bit random and chaotic, it is still a lot more shopable than some of the other TK Maxx stores. My first ever job was when I was 16 and I used to do a wee Saturday shift in the TK Maxx store in Paisley. The store staff genuinely have no idea what kind of goods they are going to get in on the delivery trucks. The stuff just turns up and they put it out on the shop floor! This means that the staff can seem a little unhelpful but trust me, it's only because they are genuinely as clueless as you are sometimes! You can pick up something in TK Maxx and have no idea what it actually is, and the staff probably don't know either. Personally I think that just adds to the experience! TK Maxx will often get one delivery of an item and then will never get it in again so if you see something you like I recommend you buy it then and there because it is doubtful you will ever have the opportunity again if you don't! I love The Fort's TK Maxx for the great selection of good quality bags they sell. I am a self confessed bag snob however I am also paid peanuts so TK Maxx is a great compromise for me. I can buy excellent, genuine leather bags for a decent price. I have posted a photo of a bag I bought recently which I love. From other reviews I've written on TK Maxx, I explained how I have a love/hate relationship with this store. I need to be in the mood to browse and on the hunt for a bargain, so I tend to only go in when the mood suits me. When I am in the mood to bargain hunt, I like this TK Maxx. This store is HUGE! Seriously! Spread out over two floors, the downstairs covers clothing, bags, shoes and beauty accessories. Every time I am in TK Maxx, I need to have a look at the beauty section just to see if there are any hidden gems to be found. Yeah the items aren't displayed in the most attractive fashion and it's more of mish mash of similar types of products eg. nail polishes all thrown together and your mission - if you choose to accept it - is to find the one for you! Sometimes you're lucky and stumble upon a great find but don't get your hopes up. This was one of my more unsuccessful visits.. I don't generally have a look through the clothing rails here, just because there are so many (and although they are clearly marked) I don't really have the desire to hunt through them. Upstairs focuses on kids items and homeware. They have a dodgy selection of candles (I don't know why candles from TK Maxx always smell so unappealing), kitchen gadgets (was tempted to buy some cute Mary Berry cake forks reduced to £7.99) and garden furniture. There is also an aisle dedicated to stationery and craft supplies which is fun to rummage through. In a lot of TK Maxx, packaging has been opened, items are marked and there's just not care in presentation. This TK Maxx is one of the better stores and a lot of the items are in perfect condition as you would expect to find in any store. Nevertheless, there are many items (particularly notepads etc) that have been scratched/damaged/taken out their packaging which is a bit annoying, especially if it is something you want to buy. There's a lift taking you from the ground to first floor as well as stairs. Staff are always friendly enough and there's plenty of tills so you're never waiting too long in a queue. Two levels of TK Maxx awesomeness. Sure you might not find something every time you visit but when you do you'll get an amazing deal. Men's, women's and children's clothing, shoes, luggage, toys, baby, furnishings, cookware---they have it all. Much more organised and cleaner than city centre stores and open until 10pm during the week! read more

I can't pass a TK Maxx and not dream of treasures await me. I admit I have a week spot of deals and shopping so TK Maxx is perfect for me. This TK Maxx is HUGE and could have my wondering about searching for finds for hours. Luckily and unlikely I don't have tons of money so I have to decide which thin I REALLY want and which get put back. Its kind of like a fun game... o this sounds bad like I have a shopping problem! =o0 I have found great deals on some cute long sweaters,and jackets. Its nice to wear something you know not everyone else is wearing. There are some steals in the home section too. I'd say at least half of my flat is decorated in TK Maxx find. read more

My boyfriend absolutely hates this shop with a passion, due to its lack of organisation and hoards of shoppers rummaging for a bargain. I, however, absolutely adore it. TK Maxx is one of the best places to be to pick up rare and unique designer goods and interesting and unusual gifts - all for a snip of the original price. I particularly love this branch, as they have an entire upstairs section dedicated to homeware, where you will find the most beautiful hand painted teapots and luxury towels and bedding from all over the world. This place is great for picking up gifts that are little bit different from the usual soulless gift sets and instead offering thoughtful and lovely little things that will be treasured by the receiver. read more

This is my 2nd faveourite tk maxx store. Although they dont stock any Michael Kors bags or purses (boo) they do have a really well stocked beauty section. I have always managed to pick up some good beauty bargains here and i still kick myself at the day i saw some glamglow and didnt buy it! I love the homeware section in here. In other store's i have always found this section to be a bit of a mess but everything is lovely and tidy with a wonderful stationary collection. My top tip would be ... if you see something you really really want then buy it as it probably wont be there the next time you visit! read more

This TK Maxx store is even more chaotic than the usual, if that's possible. It has all the usual sections (i.e. footwear, womenswear and menswear) as well as a huge homeware section. I think that someone should write some kind of dissertation on TK Maxx stores, exploring the hypothesis that the more chaotic the store is, the better the stock available. Judging by how good the finds can be in this store (homeware especially) and how much it looks like it was very recently hit by a hurricane, then I think there may be something in this hypothesis. Probably the same size as the store in the centre of town but with far smaller queues - if you can get to this branch instead it's probably worth it. read more

TK MAXX is located at the Glasgow Fort. It seems on the ground floor at the back ie. The shoes and toys seem to be laid out a bit better than some of the other branches. I managed to get a pair of trainers in here for a really good price for the brand I got. The store is on two levels with house ware items including storage baskets, candle sticks some odd items here but I find there is not much structure and can appear quite messy. The clothes are on rails and can be tight to walk through the aisles if you meet another customer coming the other way one of you will need to retract your steps. It is not the most disabled friendly shop. You might pick up something good here but you will have to look for it unless it is trainers or toys. read more

If you have a spare hour to spend and fancy trying to bag yourself a great bargain then head to TKMAXX. Known for its designer off season goods at a fraction of the price it's very often that you'll stroll in and walk out with an armfull of gold jems from diesel jeans for £20 to calvin klein jackets for £30. Though be warned it's not for those who dont like scouring out for their clothes. It's a bargain hunters paradise but a hell on earth for those who like to view their potential new wardrobe all neat on hangers. read more
