I didn't even realise Vero Moda had its own shops until this one appeared in Silverburn! I had seen…read morethe concessions in other stores but never a free standing store before. I don't think the way this store is furnished represents the stock well. Everything is very dark and basic and you could be forgiven for thinking that the stock is going to be like that as well. Even the Vero Moda logo is kind of boring. However if you venture inside you'll find some very cute and feminine dresses as well as some great casual tops for layering. The prices are fair for the quality of clothing you are getting and I think Vero Moda, like H&M and Zara is a great reminder that it isn't only the British that do high street retailing incredibly well!

I had never paid much attention to Vero Moda stores in other locations such as Sauchiehall Street…read moreand even Dublin as they always seemed a little unwelcoming somehow but this one, located in Silverburn shopping centre, seems much more appealing with it's wide arch doorway and inviting window display. Black and classy, it remains open and breezy. The layout is ideal for top and dress-spotting - I always see more and more as I wander down the shop until I reach the back which always seems to have something on special offer neatly stacked on a table just before the airy changing rooms (and so it would be rude not to try something on). Despite never having bought something in the city centre branch, I have picked up several things from this one and it is one of my favourite stores in Silverburn. The staff are lovely too always admiring your purchase so you feel tip-top as you leave the store. Good shopping experience all round :)

Leaving the experience of shopping at Silverburn aside, this is a pretty decent shop if you're in…read morethe mood for shopping. Was I in the mood for shopping? No, I don't really like clothes shopping. I mean, I love shopping if it involves buying things online and having them delivered to my house. But going out clothes shopping is one of my least favourite activities (the looking, the trying on, the looking, the trying on - I hate all that changing), and it's why I rarely review clothes shops. Anyway, I found myself in need of a new dress for an event on Tuesday night (Yelp's Gallery of Glasgow, ahem). I'd scoured all my usual spots - H&M, Zara, Oasis ... there wasn't much going around that really took my fancy. My last hope was River Island and I was pretty impressed with the range and prices. The change rooms were tidy, clean and had a couch for your shopping partner to wait. There wasn't much of a wait at the checkout and staff were friendly. River Island had definitely gone up a few positions in my favourite shops list after this outing.

This new River Island store is excellent. It's split into two levels downstairs for Womenswear and…read moreupstairs for Menswear, each floor is absolutely huge and has practically every item of stock that River Island have, which means if you see anything online you wont have the problem of going into the store and not being able to find what your looking for. They also seem to ge alot of items that are new out before the Braehead store. For example I bought a dress from here that wasn't in the Braehead store for another two weeks. The shoe department is really good and has all of the shoe range on display.Staff are very friendly and helpful.

Silverburn is my favourite shopping centre in Glasgow.. So what makes it so good.. I like the fact…read morethat it is big and spacious even on a Saturday you still have room to move about without bumping into folk. Parking is also great.. Loads of it.. The multi storey car park has a great lighting set up to let you know where a free space is.. If you look at the roof you'll see lots of red and green lights.. If you see a green light underneath it will be a free parking space.. There are lots of different shops all the kids you want even a small version of debenhams.. And the food on offer is great. wagamama, nandos, you sushi, the list goes on.. There are lots of lovely little stalls dotted about where you can buy some original not in the high street type things. There is also a big tesco attached and a newly opened cineworld..

I have mixed feelings about Silverburn hence the 3 stars…read more Things that are good about it: - It's indoors - handy for shopping in the rain (which is most of the time) - Good selection of shops including clothes, food, homewares - Some pretty ok places to eat, I normally go to Yo Sushi when I'm here but don't mind the odd Nando's/Wagamama. There's a few new eating places too - Giraffe, Zizzi and Carluccio's is opening later this year. Things that aren't so good about it: - It's a bit of a strange shape so it means you'll walk from one end to the other, and then remember something you need at M&S or Tesco, and have to walk all the way back again - The car park is a bit of a nightmare. I try to avoid visiting on the weekend as even then it's hard to park. At Christmas you'd be better off getting public transport if you're really desperate to shop here. - The toilets seem like they're really far apart I go here when I need to, but I rarely visit just for a wander around the shops anymore.
