In fact, I've passed it by many a time, put off by the Granny-style nighties in the window. However, in the interests of Yelp, today I took a deep breath and finally went in. Inside, Boudoir is absolutely packed full of lingerie, hosiery and nightwear. Everywhere you turn you will be greeted by bulging racks and shelves. And you know what? They actually have some nice stuff. Plus, the owner was really friendly and helpful. Yes, the focus is definitely on the plainer undies, with all sorts of basic bras on sale from just £4.99. They also have a large selection of very big pants, if you're thinking about doing it Bridget Jones style! They do have a couple of really pretty pieces though, so it's definitely worth having a bit of a hunt round if you're after something a little fancier. They have lots of nightwear, including some really nice cosy dressing gowns (yes, I did fancy one myself). You'll also find stockings, socks and tights.

Selling gorgeous, vampy corsets of the highest quality, Bourdoir were a company that originally started in Glasgow and have now come through to the capital. They sell themselves as "corset specialists", and by that it's not the kind of explicitly sexual lingerie that turns up in sex shops, or the gregarious Whiplash Trash. The corsets they sell in here are a bit more tasteful, and with their sexy but delicate lace up backs they are sizzling. They do free sizing sessions in here to see what corset would exactly suit your figure. Whether you go for bold reds and blacks to pastel colours suited for weddings and soft, girly outfits, they are a surefire winner. Prices start at around £90 which I would say is very reasonable for such quality garments.

The store is small and there most likely won't be too many people in there, so it can feel a bit awkward looking at all the sassy frilly stuff in front of a sales associate and the lingerie guard LOL! I must add my sales associate was very nice and I did not sense any unwarranted pressure to buy more. I was debating on which of my two favourite sets to buy and she told me the most practical solution, which I appreciated. I bought the 'classic' piece, because the colorful, less versatile, statement piece would probably go on sale at the end of the season. This is NOT where you go for your everyday nude t-shirt bra or your comfy whitey tighties. Agent Provocateur is where you find salacious undergarments. The changing rooms are a little small but they are tucked in so that no-one ever need see you trying on your bra. Some of the bras are very pricey but the others are the same as buying in Debenhams, with a much better service. If they don't have your size they will order in for you. Once being fitted (and they suggest a quick check before buying any bra) you are shown a selection of styles and prices, and never forced into buying the dear ones!! That wasn't why I visited - I was after a trouser/PJ short type of thing, but this place was so damn gorgeous I found it hard to leave again. First things first - the decor of this shop is spot on. Classy, boudoir-esque and no sleazy. I love that it has a big curtain at the front window of the shop, so it's like a bedroom. It's got a bit of class and sophistication although the prices aren't too unreasonable (e.g. 3 knickers/pants for £12, bras for around £20 with free pants). It reminds me of Peter Alexander in Australia which does loads of cute-but-sexy nightwear. I had a bit of a look around but I couldn't really see what took my fancy. There was a couple of assistants on hand who were really helpful - maybe too helpful with the reeling off of the deals and telling me lots of things I might like, even if it wasn't what I said I was looking for. That was the only downer to this experience, if I'll be honest - I much prefer being left to my own devices and offered a couple of spot-on suggestions than the whole spiel about bra deals when I was looking for PJs. Curves and Lace sell bras in a back size 28 to 48 and cup size D to K. K, wowza! They have bras from all the big name, big boobie brands such as Freya and Fantasie. The boutique itself is very fun and flirty and the window displays always show the most glamorous of lingerie and are styled with accessories such as feather boas. The bras are not cheap. You'd be lucky to get anything for under £50 but if you are large in the breast department then I think it is worth investing in a couple of bras made by companies which specialize in supporting bigger boobs. Curves and Lace do sell practical white t-shirt bras, but I say if you're spending over £50 on a bra, indulge in something that makes you look and feel gorgeous!

The bras were lovely; loads of nice colours, lacy, silky or cotton, with matching panties or thongs, but this wasn't my concern. As I picked up a particularly nice purple lace number, I realised that I could fit my head into each of the cups...twice, probably. Both of my friends who made these recommendations were of ample boobage, probably a D or E cup at least. I am a humble B cup, which was 2 sizes below what this boutique offered! Curves and Lace only caters for females with larger breasts, a voluptuous D to a back aching K. It is a godsend to my pals who just can't pick up a £4 bra from Primark because of their measurements. The bras are not cheap, not by a long shot, and you can expect to pay in excess of £35-50 for one. However, you get what you pay for, and these bras are high quality. Perfect for those of you blessed with an ample bosom!

I don't think the way this store is furnished represents the stock well. Everything is very dark and basic and you could be forgiven for thinking that the stock is going to be like that as well. Even the Vero Moda logo is kind of boring. However if you venture inside you'll find some very cute and feminine dresses as well as some great casual tops for layering. The prices are fair for the quality of clothing you are getting and I think Vero Moda, like H&M and Zara is a great reminder that it isn't only the British that do high street retailing incredibly well!

Black and classy, it remains open and breezy. The layout is ideal for top and dress-spotting - I always see more and more as I wander down the shop until I reach the back which always seems to have something on special offer neatly stacked on a table just before the airy changing rooms (and so it would be rude not to try something on). Despite never having bought something in the city centre branch, I have picked up several things from this one and it is one of my favourite stores in Silverburn. The staff are lovely too always admiring your purchase so you feel tip-top as you leave the store. Good shopping experience all round :)
