    Review Highlights - Bravissimo

What they find in fitting is that most women wear a back size which is too large.

I first came across this boutique after the recent Yelp event (which was extremely fun and…read morefabulous!) and, after having a wee trial of their 'Hot Wax' waxing system, I decide to pay them another visit for a spot of pampering and de-fuzzing! I was extremely well looked after from the minute I arrived, and the salon room was clean, well decorated and very relaxing! Now, I will not go into details about the actual treatment (there are some aspects of girly grooming that really need to remain a secret!) but the hot wax felt strangely nice, and while it wasn't entirely pain-less, it was certainly nicer than my past waxing experiences! After my treatment I was given after-care advice, and they followed up with an e-mail to make sure I knew what I was doing. I liked it so much I booked my return visit on the spot! In addition to the pampering side, the Boutique also has a wonderful lingerie/swimwear shop, and carries a range of very beautifully designed 'toys' which would look more at home on a stylish coffee table, than in the bottom drawer of you bedside table! The lingerie, products and salon treatments are more expensive than I would normally pay, however, the warmth, friendliness and professionalism of the staff and general gorgeousness of the Boutique will keep me coming back again and again!

This is seriously gorgeous lingerie and they are high end labels: Pleasure State, Stella McCartney, Fauve, Mimi Holiday as well as Fantasie and more. It's the lingerie that lures me in and they cater for all sizes which is fab and not always found on the high street. You do pay more for these brands but the quality and service is excellent. If you are larger in the bust department, then this is the place to come for some seriously sexy undies. Sarah, the owner can provide fittings if required and if you don't see your size then just ask as it may be in the stock room. A good range of bra size swimwear, as well as beauty treatments is also available. The sale is great - a proper sale with fab discounts and after the weekend, my bank account is pretty depleted. What's not to love!?

Based on the Multrese Walk it does give it a certain exclusivity that I don't think it deserves as really it's just another high street chain but because the bigger the boobs the most luxurious your underwear gets (true fact) then it deserves its place catering for the masses, get it? The staff were helpful if not concerned about my emotional wellbeing and helped me out with some wonderful gift vouchers which my friend said didn't stretch very far (ungrateful cow) but then again, it's a pricey place and I'm a skinflint, luckily I don't have big boobs to support.

Soapbox time: In the US (and maybe elsewhere?), women are unfortunately not given the option to buy…read morebras in correct sizes in stores. The only sizes carried in "typical" stores start at a size 30 band and go up to like a DDD maybe. Most women think they are a 32-36 B, C, or D. In the majority of cases, this is wrong. We are also taught that a "DD cup" is like WHOA THAT'S SO HUGE when it is not. It depends on the band size. Someone can wear, say, a 28FF, and that person looks "normal". An FF is not some insanely huge size--although most women would never imagine they could be an FF--it doesn't even sound like a real size to us!! It sounds outrageous, because that's what we've been taught. Go to the site Brabandproject to see what real bra sizes look like. The earlier review from Eleanor is a *perfect* example of this. She doesn't believe she could be a 28FF and says she'll keep wearing a 32D since that's what she can find in stores. Then she insinuates that Bravissimo has a racket to make women think they need bras they can only find in Bravissimo. I really hope no one takes this to heart. It is very incorrect advice. Look, it's totally messed up that stores don't stock bras in the sizes we need. Unfortunately, women who wear these sizes have to order them online. Don't give up and keep wearing the wrong size because you will only buy a bra you can buy in person in a store. Order online. You'll get used to it. Visit the reddit subreddit "abrathatfits" if you want to read TONS of information about correct bra sizing. /end soapbox Anyway, if you are from the US and happen to be visiting the UK, I urge you to get a bra fitting at a Bravissimo. I went in the morning and was able to meet with someone after just a couple minutes. You go into a fitting room with your staffer and you take off your shirt and they start bringing you bras until you find one that fits. They are experts at knowing what makes for a perfectly fitting bra. The women I worked with was great. (The size I was already wearing wasn't too far off because I'd done my own measuring years ago after studying reddit's /r/abrathatfits.) After we determined the correct size, I shopped a little on my own and picked out another bra. They range in prices, but mine were around...40 pounds, I think. They carry Bravissimo brand and other brands too, like Panache. They also carry swimsuits. The bottom floor of the store has clothing that's made to fit curvy women. Such an amazing idea!! Definitely stop by if you've never had a proper bra fitting!!

No matter how classy they try to make themselves they are all essentially up market sex shops. Whenever I see the red silk slips and the lacy thongs with suspenders I just think of one of those cheesy old movies where the femme fatale announces that she is going to "slip into something a little more comfortable." Oh dear. I don't know why but these shops just make me cringe beyond belief. This one is right in the middle of Clarkston, right next to the ice-cream shop and the primary school it just sticks out like a sore thumb and seems really inappropriately placed. The last thing you want is to bump into your neighbour walking his dog while you step out with a pair of suspenders. I'm personally not into this kind of thing but I guess it does the job for people who are.

The changing rooms are a little small but they are tucked in so that no-one ever need see you trying on your bra. Some of the bras are very pricey but the others are the same as buying in Debenhams, with a much better service. If they don't have your size they will order in for you. Once being fitted (and they suggest a quick check before buying any bra) you are shown a selection of styles and prices, and never forced into buying the dear ones!! Highly recommend for a decent fitting- it makes all the difference.

That wasn't why I visited - I was after a trouser/PJ short type of thing, but this place was so damn gorgeous I found it hard to leave again. First things first - the decor of this shop is spot on. Classy, boudoir-esque and no sleazy. I love that it has a big curtain at the front window of the shop, so it's like a bedroom. It's got a bit of class and sophistication although the prices aren't too unreasonable (e.g. 3 knickers/pants for £12, bras for around £20 with free pants). It reminds me of Peter Alexander in Australia which does loads of cute-but-sexy nightwear. I had a bit of a look around but I couldn't really see what took my fancy. There was a couple of assistants on hand who were really helpful - maybe too helpful with the reeling off of the deals and telling me lots of things I might like, even if it wasn't what I said I was looking for. That was the only downer to this experience, if I'll be honest - I much prefer being left to my own devices and offered a couple of spot-on suggestions than the whole spiel about bra deals when I was looking for PJs. Anyway, that wouldn't put me off returning and now I know how nice this shop is, I'm sure I'll be back.

This is an upmarket shopping centre which has more expensive high street shops like Reiss, Ted Baker, Vivienne Westwood and Cos (which I'm still yet to check out!). The centre is certainly decorated to match the crowd it's looking to attract - glitzy, glam and always clean and tidy. I like the size of the centre as well - it's very dinky but still has lots of shops and is easy to navigate. There's also a host of restaurants, bars and cafés but I'll be honest - I've not visited many of them. I ate at Barca probably 4 years ago and also one of the places on the bottom floor but I think that's changed hands. One down side is that if you are dining at a restaurant on the lower level, parents will tend to let their kids run riot in the centre circle which can be a bit of a mood-killer. Princes Square doesn't have a car park due to its location but it is really close to train and subway. If you do really fancy driving, probably St Enoch or Mitchell Street are the closest car parks.
