The store itself can be a bit intimidating. There is a really big security guy that greets you at the door. Under the surface he is a big teddy bear, but you don't know that as you walk in. The store is small and there most likely won't be too many people in there, so it can feel a bit awkward looking at all the sassy frilly stuff in front of a sales associate and the lingerie guard LOL! I must add my sales associate was very nice and I did not sense any unwarranted pressure to buy more. I was debating on which of my two favourite sets to buy and she told me the most practical solution, which I appreciated. I bought the 'classic' piece, because the colorful, less versatile, statement piece would probably go on sale at the end of the season. This is NOT where you go for your everyday nude t-shirt bra or your comfy whitey tighties. Agent Provocateur is where you find salacious undergarments. Inside, Boudoir is absolutely packed full of lingerie, hosiery and nightwear. Everywhere you turn you will be greeted by bulging racks and shelves. And you know what? They actually have some nice stuff. Plus, the owner was really friendly and helpful. Yes, the focus is definitely on the plainer undies, with all sorts of basic bras on sale from just £4.99. They also have a large selection of very big pants, if you're thinking about doing it Bridget Jones style! They do have a couple of really pretty pieces though, so it's definitely worth having a bit of a hunt round if you're after something a little fancier. They have lots of nightwear, including some really nice cosy dressing gowns (yes, I did fancy one myself). You'll also find stockings, socks and tights.

No matter how classy they try to make themselves they are all essentially up market sex shops. Whenever I see the red silk slips and the lacy thongs with suspenders I just think of one of those cheesy old movies where the femme fatale announces that she is going to "slip into something a little more comfortable." Oh dear. I don't know why but these shops just make me cringe beyond belief. This one is right in the middle of Clarkston, right next to the ice-cream shop and the primary school it just sticks out like a sore thumb and seems really inappropriately placed. The last thing you want is to bump into your neighbour walking his dog while you step out with a pair of suspenders. I'm personally not into this kind of thing but I guess it does the job for people who are.

The changing rooms are a little small but they are tucked in so that no-one ever need see you trying on your bra. Some of the bras are very pricey but the others are the same as buying in Debenhams, with a much better service. If they don't have your size they will order in for you. Once being fitted (and they suggest a quick check before buying any bra) you are shown a selection of styles and prices, and never forced into buying the dear ones!! Highly recommend for a decent fitting- it makes all the difference.

Upstairs, Wilkies hosts lingerie, bedwear and some designers. The clothing on this floor is more up market and more up to date than that of downstairs. A lot of the clothes up here struck me as being suitable for trendy dinner parties, and some items would certainly suit someone in the process of jazzing up their wardrobe. But with jackets coming in at a cool £150 each, it was hard to see past the price label. This store is undoubtedly handy for locals and is certainly good quality. But if you're looking for something a bit more up to date at a slightly cheaper price, you're probably better going to M&S.
