Not that I'm cheap, I just can't routinely afford to drop £120-£150 on a handbag! Kris and I were greeted warmly by the 2 sales staff, and left to peruse the bags. After 5 mins, one of the ladies came over to offer help and advice on the 2 bags I was humming over. She wasn't pushy and offered honest input on my decision, which was very refreshing. I eventually settled on a navy leather and tartan satchel (I'm reliably informed this was exclusive to the Glasgow and Edinburgh stores.) and so I headed for the till. The 2nd sales lady was equally lovely, commenting on my choice and explaining that something was wrong with their POS system so they couldn't print a receipt. However they took my email and sent it to me instead! I feel more shops should do this - receipts do become a waste of paper and this seems a more eco-friendly way; and means you can print it only if you need to. I genuinely felt so special shopping in the Cambridge store, definitely pop in if you have a chance!

The site said free shipping with $155 purchase, but my total came to around $150. I went to my cart and starting the purchase process, just to see how much shipping was - in case I wanted to add on a key chain for the free shipping instead. The website charged me without ever giving me a total or shipping cost. I didn't confirm the order or the amount. The bags are awesome and great, but beware before you start the purchase process online. The shipping was about $23.

The ladies in the shop are lovely and extremely helpful. My luggage self-destructed on my last trip and I have another trip in a few weeks. I hate buying luggage online because it is difficult to assess the quality, so while strolling along from the bus stop I spotted Reid's with tons of luggage in the front window. I walked in and told the nice ladies, I needed a sturdy, noticeable, but not ostentatious, large suitcase for international travel. They laboriously pulled out three great options, and all with very reasonable prices, granted I caught them during a sale, but new merchandise was well priced as well. The 27-30" sturdy, name brand, trolleys I was looking at were all £40-60, which is as good as, or better, than Internet prices. Not to mention I am a fan of instant gratification of shopping in a store! I realized, I didn't have my wallet since I was coming from work, and the sales associates held the bag in the back storage for me till the following day, even though the bag was at close-out price! Reid's also carries Harris Tweed merchandise, which is made in Scotland, so I may need to come back and get Scottish gifts for relatives before I head abroad (home). Anyway, great merchandise, good prices, fabulous customer service equals 5 stars.

I personally love it…read morebut even then I need to be in the mood for a good bargain hunt and have a couple of hours to spare. Of all the TK Maxx stores in the Glasgow area this is by far the best. It is huge and while the layout can seem a bit random and chaotic, it is still a lot more shopable than some of the other TK Maxx stores. My first ever job was when I was 16 and I used to do a wee Saturday shift in the TK Maxx store in Paisley. The store staff genuinely have no idea what kind of goods they are going to get in on the delivery trucks. The stuff just turns up and they put it out on the shop floor! This means that the staff can seem a little unhelpful but trust me, it's only because they are genuinely as clueless as you are sometimes! You can pick up something in TK Maxx and have no idea what it actually is, and the staff probably don't know either. Personally I think that just adds to the experience! TK Maxx will often get one delivery of an item and then will never get it in again so if you see something you like I recommend you buy it then and there because it is doubtful you will ever have the opportunity again if you don't! I love The Fort's TK Maxx for the great selection of good quality bags they sell. I am a self confessed bag snob however I am also paid peanuts so TK Maxx is a great compromise for me. I can buy excellent, genuine leather bags for a decent price. I have posted a photo of a bag I bought recently which I love. Check it out if you want to see the kind of gems you can find in this store. I have also bought a lot of household bits and pieces from this TK Maxx store. I live in a rented flat in Glasgow and wanted to buy some things to make the place feel like home and have a bit of character to it and you can always find something interesting in TK Maxx. Again I have posted some photos of household items I've bought recently if you're interested in having a look.

I need to be in the mood to browse and on the hunt for a bargain, so I tend to only go in when the mood suits me. When I am in the mood to bargain hunt, I like this TK Maxx. This store is HUGE! Seriously! Spread out over two floors, the downstairs covers clothing, bags, shoes and beauty accessories. Every time I am in TK Maxx, I need to have a look at the beauty section just to see if there are any hidden gems to be found. Yeah the items aren't displayed in the most attractive fashion and it's more of mish mash of similar types of products eg. nail polishes all thrown together and your mission - if you choose to accept it - is to find the one for you! Sometimes you're lucky and stumble upon a great find but don't get your hopes up. This was one of my more unsuccessful visits.. I don't generally have a look through the clothing rails here, just because there are so many (and although they are clearly marked) I don't really have the desire to hunt through them. Upstairs focuses on kids items and homeware. They have a dodgy selection of candles (I don't know why candles from TK Maxx always smell so unappealing), kitchen gadgets (was tempted to buy some cute Mary Berry cake forks reduced to £7.99) and garden furniture. There is also an aisle dedicated to stationery and craft supplies which is fun to rummage through. In a lot of TK Maxx, packaging has been opened, items are marked and there's just not care in presentation. This TK Maxx is one of the better stores and a lot of the items are in perfect condition as you would expect to find in any store. Nevertheless, there are many items (particularly notepads etc) that have been scratched/damaged/taken out their packaging which is a bit annoying, especially if it is something you want to buy. There's a lift taking you from the ground to first floor as well as stairs. Staff are always friendly enough and there's plenty of tills so you're never waiting too long in a queue. Overall, this is definitely my favourite TK Maxx.

The store may not be as modern as some of the newer John Lewis stores, but it makes up for it by having a nice selection of items you'd expect to find in a John Lewis from clothing to fragrances and technology. There is also an Optician and a Cafe inside. The store was still tidy and presented well. The store stretches over five floors, including a basement. There are toilets on two floors which is handy and I often find these both quieter and cleaner than the ones actually inside the shopping centre. There weren't too many staff members around the floor, although due to the size, it would be difficult to have someone everywhere. The staff seemed friendly when I did find someone. I do think it's a waste for such a big department store in a big city to be closing at 6 pm, other than on Thursdays, when they close at 7 pm. It just seems way too early, although it is in line with some smaller stores nearby, there are shops open later so I can't see why John Lewis can't either. One of my favourite stores in the city, I do prefer this to other department stores nearby. I do prefer the John Lewis in Edinburgh though, which after John Lewis in Aberdeen closed is their only other branch in Scotland. 4*
