When we first got there, since we have an American membership all we needed to do was present our membership card and the gentleman at the door wrote our information down on a clipboard. This location seems like any other until you take a closer look at the products - many of which are quintessentially British or Scottish: Victoria Sandwich Cake, Haggis Pakora, Clotted Cream, Nando's Peri Peri Sauce, local beer and candy, and much more! I loved everything about it! And while the food court looks very similar to those in the U.S. (a hot dog and soda for £1.50, slices of pizza, etc.), they have a few different items, too (jacket potatoes, cottage pie, gelato). We were able to get a bunch of things to set up our son in his flat and that was the main purpose for our visit. Also- we found the staff very friendly and welcoming!

Just walking in, the smell of tires and bulk goods makes me think of all the times my family and I went in to Sam's Club (like Costco, but owned by Walmart in the states) and the massive amounts of goods purchased! There really is everything you could ever imagine here from TVs to tires to booze, frozen goods and ready to eat foods. There is a bakery and a butcher and loads of basic staples for your cupboards. The isles are huge and so are the bulk items! The prices are great and totally worth the membership. Their hot dogs are also delicious and for £1.50 you can get a hot dog and a refillable drink. Yum! Each "street" (quaintly signposted, including Del Boy Way) is filled with stalls and shops, selling the weird and wonderful, from toys and tat, to piercings and portraits. The Forge Market is a little time warp of a place, untouched and unspoiled by the modern day, and I very much hope it stays that way.

The one on the half a head dummy looked beautiful, ok my description of the display may not be selling it to you but it was a really pretty and unusual looking piece of jewellery. This shop is probably more mother of the bride by looking at the outfits on display. They do have a good range of accessories, from fasinators, handbags, scarfs and jewellery. The ladies were very helpful and the lady who initially served me got the necklace from the shop window for me. It was a little more than I would have liked to have spent but it really was pretty and would go perfectly with my outfit. So next time you're in Hamilton ladies have a wee look.
