Tom is not so present. But the store has some great deals. I like the store. Usually find what I need. easy in and out parking.

For years they have price gouged our small town. Coolers are usually off...in Thawing Mode per employees. The employees are amazing...I wish they had a better management. The store is kept really, really cold. It used to be a really reasonably priced store and busy. Once Grocery Outlet came into town...I heard prices are going down. It's a 30 minute drive to Olympia. Most of us went there to get groceries. Again...the employees are fantastic. They deserve better. read more

I'm going to give it 3 stars for trying! Outrageous prices because they can do that since they are the only place in town for now. It really good use some updating. They did become thriftway but didn't do much. If you want good product you need to go the mornings they restock. It seems they have a lot of issues with the fridge and freezer to be careful. read more

Always check the expiration dates on canned goods. I bought the newest can of chopped tomatoes I could find and even THAT one was one month past expiration. The rest expired 15 months ago. What the hell? It's always hit and miss. Bought some cinnamon rolls in the bakery and they were inedible. Tasted of flour and dough, no cinnamon taste, under baked and over frosted. And they charge plenty for all of the above too. The store in Montesano is MUCH better. Worth the extra 10 minutes to drive there and not be sorely disappointed. read more

The name of this place has been changed to Thriftway it's so expensive,and it is at least twice the price as a regular store

Beer selection was ok. But checking out was a hassle. One employee insisted that they had to bag my beer, despite declining bags. When I stated that it's not a Washington code, another employee ; not properly wearing a mask, said something like: "you got to follow the rules". Not sure why the employee thought it was ok to ignore pandemic regulations and insist on bagging a six pack? Washington liquor and cannabis state: "Are grocery stores required to bag alcohol products? This store is way over priced. Consider this. This is a small town with the majority of the income coming from outside of it. Those that work shop outside the town. Those that don't wait until the list is of good size and then go outside Elma. Then there is a group that is elderly and may have difficulty driving any real distance. And they need food so Everybody's is it. Veggies from Mexico and very poor quality meats. I live here and can say that unless it is really necessary the most shopping I will do is for what I can not do without at that moment. So this is what I would tell the owners/managers. You have a store in a great location. What you are missing is a reason for shoppers to stop going outside Elma and supporting your bottom line. It is up to you. read more

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly Review The GOOD ~~ Most of the employees are great! The BAD ~~ The owner (Jake) really likes all the money he makes off the little grocery monopoly he has going on, I know all the locals really appreciate it (not), and I wish he treated his employees better, much, much better (no I never worked for him, nor would I ever, but I have known and do know several people who do) The UGLY ~~ The prices, the prices are just UGLY so unless you have a food emergency it's worth the drive to Aberdeen, Oly, Shelton or Chehalis plain and simple. read more

Had to get some odds and ends of food and came here. As is usual with small town food stores, they are expensive. They do have a good selection like a regular supermarket. . The prices reflect what is called a "place utility." In other words, yes it is expensive and the WalMart in Olympia is cheaper and you are free to drive the 30+ miles to Olympia for your groceries. . They had $5 bags of groceries. A cash register receipt of what is in the bag was stapled to it and added up to $25. Apparently it was closeouts and dented cans and such, but a good bargain. . The address says South 5th Street, but according to Google maps it is on South 7th street. Hmm. I see that 5th Street curves to the west and although now going west is still called South 5th Street. It goes right up to the front door which is on 7th. Strange. read more

I'm a regular at this store. Always feel comfortable when going in store . Always see the employees with smiles and are very helpful when needing help. Recently had went into the store and witnessed a particular employee that I have never seen up until the last couple months. I do believe her name is dani or dina a cashier. Very unprofessional when you over hear the employee bad mouthing other workers at the store.. that is unacceptable in my eyes and made me feel like I should write a complaint about this employee. Never have I heard things like this from other workers their . My overall experience with this grocery store is positive this day was not so good and made me question if other people have over heard this person doing these things. . Other then that the store is a happy friendly community grocery store and I enjoy shopping their . Okay prices for a small town store. Shopped at this local IGA grocer while staying at the local RV campground. Great selection of all grocery needs, although at a bit of a mark up from our regular shopping. Clean store, good customer service, nice option locally. read more

I wouldn't do any major shopping here but it's good for a quick run to pick up a non-specialty item. They do have good specials on meat products and will often have cuts that are hard to find elsewhere but the selection isn't set in stone. read more

We left the Seattle area for the 4th of July to go to Long Beach. We stopped for fuel and bathroom and decided to look up the closest grocery store for supplies. All this store did was make all the stores I go to in the North Seattle area look horrible in comparison. The store was pleasant, produce and meat looked great. Actually impressive. The shelves were stocked, faced and clean. Hear's the topper - 3 different employees in 3 different areas greeted and chatted with us. I have never thought of or left a review for a grocery store, but when my wife and I came out we felt compelled to do so. Looks like they are remodeling a section for booze right now that looks like it will be nice. read more

This was a horrible store I was treated like a punk my girlfriend and I were soaked from the rain the girls of the deli counter were super rude it said something to the manager the manager actually pulled me aside and asked me what the hell my problem was I was in no way shape or form in the wrong or disrespectful to their employees I'll never go to the store again read more

My husband went there to get milk early in the morning and they weren't happy at 730 in the morning. maybe they were tired but keep working on those customer service skills please manager have another meeting I'm trying to help your supermarket. This store is the only supermarket in town. Because it is the only supermarket in town, it has no competitors which means it's prices are high0. I almost always go to Olympia for my shopping (more selection, lower prices), but I go in here *only* if I absolutely positively really need something and cannot get it anywhere else in town. The employees are friendly, but the prices are outrageous. Like I said, I have to desperately be out of something to go here. You're better off doing your shopping in Olympia or Lacey, like WinCo or Top Foods, if you want to save money. read more

In so much that there is truth to the previous review let me give you another take on this store. I have lived in this town for 10 years and will only shop there because there is no other choice other than driving for 30 miles for the better deal. The produce is old and the prices are at times double on an item that can be purchased outside the city limits. What is good is that I am saving money because when I consider buying something, I question waiting for when I am closer to Olympia. I am in total support of buying local but then if you want my business you need to support my wallet. Also, they are not in support of veterans and do not offer a discount, I have spoken to other members of the community in regards to this and they also agree with my rating. read more

Are you kidding? I LOVE this store. I shop there regularly and have had my grocery needs met every time. They run great sales, and I think most of their prices are competitive with other stores their size. What I really like is they carry items I can't get at the bigger stores in Olympia and Aberdeen. And the employees are EXCELLENT! Their policies are geared toward community responsibility. I haven't met the owner, but I respect and appreciate everyone I've met who works there. read more
