My girlfriends Wusthof knife set had not been sharpened in a longgg time and she mentioned it recently so I jumped on line and foud Eversharp, it was so highly recommended and only 15 minutes away. Once Kitchen Window closed, I was looking for a new place to take my knives to be sharpened. Came across this place on yelp and it has some great positive reviews. And they were not wrong. Friendly staff. Took less than 5 minutes to drop off my knives. One of which had chips in it. I didn't need them back the same day so opted to pick it up a different day. Pickup was just as smooth. They had it all wrapped up and ready to go. I had 8 knives, including two serrated and one with a chipped blade and a pair or kitchen shears. They did a great job on all of it fixed it all up. And it cost me $41 which I believe to be a resonable price for it. Until I figure out how to do this myself, I will be using them to get my knives sharpened and have found my new knife store in the cities. read more

Quick turn around for mail in sharpening. Overall did two batches totaling 7 wusthof classic knives. One was reasonably sharper (flexible boning knife, was dull out of the box and now ok). Unfortunately the other 6 were unquestionably duller than before being sent in. The paring knife now has grind marks all over the blade and the label nearly erased. Neither chef knife is able to cleanly cut a tomato. Was hoping for a factory edge from this only certified Wusthof sharpener in the US, but let down. My suspicion is someone in training did my knives and their work wasn't checked. read more

My cousin in law is dating a chef. He came over one night and took a look at our knives and frowned. He told us we needed to get our knives sharpened because they were super dull. We knew this, but our attempts at sharpening them ourselves seemed to go nowhere and who has time to take it to a farmer's market at the off chance there is knife sharpener. I took my block of knives ranging in quality to Eversharp. I thought I was being super clever by getting there right when they opened to beat the rush. Somehow there were already people coming and going. I totally thought that there was no way this was going to get done fast given the flow of traffic I saw. I handed over my block and they asked if I wanted it today or tomorrow. I said today and expected to hear a long wait time. I was told be ready in an hour. I was shocked! I ran some errands and less than one hour I was back with sharp knives in hand. The knives look great. I have definitely noticed that cutting and cooking are much easier with these knives now. The other nice part was that for our block of 8ish knives, it came to about $40. Happy to pay that price if it means not having to deal with dull knives or sharpening it myself. read more

I like to cook. I like good equipment. When I allowed one of my kids to use my Shun cooking knife, I didn't realize they thought it would be perfect to cut the foil off the top of a wine bottle! Result was a significant chip out of the blade... ugh. Took the knife to Williams Sonoma who said "no way were touching THAT!" Found Eversharp on Yelp and wow! Am I happy! Terrible result and permanent damage on three knives! Avoid this sharpening service at all costs. I brought in three knives, several wusthof and a powder steel folding knife. The sharpening was uneven and a disaster on all three. My utility paring knife has no sharp tip and can not open a sealed pack of chicken, the grind went into the bolster of my chef knife and tore massive rough cuts of material out of the knife. The paring knife was so unevenly sharpened that it is essentially a single grind blade and will need to be resharpened. My small pocket knife was terribly sharpened and completely uneven. I will be taking my knives to get repaired due to the damage caused by this god awful place. If you have quality knives you must not bring them here. read more

Joe is the nicest man! I brought in Doll's Santoku Wusthof knife and asked him why the handle had multiple cracks in it. Joe reminded me that Wusthof has a lifetime warrantee, and that he could replace it for me and take care of shipping it back. Joe could have easily told me to mail it in myself but he took care of that for me and handed me a brand new, in the box knife!!! Anyone that needs their knives sharpened, I highly recommend Joe at Eversharp, $4.00 per knife. He also does serrated blades, scissors and everything in between. Thanks Joe! read more

Customer service was friendly and positive at drop-off and pick-up for some knife sharpening. They were prepared for covid-19 with a well-demarcated service line, non-contact drop-off and pick-up, and masked and gloved employees. However, one of my knives had not been included in the package returned to me. I called and they offered to send it to me. I was only ten minutes away, so I went back to pick it up. In addition to the knife, they include a hand-written thank you note and apology for the inconvenience, as well as a set of dish towels. Holy crap, I was stunned. I really didn't have any expectations as it was an honest, easily rectified mistake. A sincere apology would have left me content. The extra steps they took has me sold on Eversharp. That was just really cool. I think it's a small, local business, so I'll sing their praises to anyone who'll listen. read more

Good sharp knives are essential to cooking. With a sharp, ergonomic knife and some basic knife skills a person can become an efficient home cook who can provide healthy, delicious and inexpensive meals quickly and without a lot of fuss. If you take care of a good knife will last you a lifetime. You can easily get by with three: a chefs knife, a paring knife, and a serrated bread knife (a bread knife is good for a lot more than bread - tomatoes for example). You also need to keep them sharp. Eversharp is a great place to buy knives and have them sharpened. They will put a razor edge on your knives and you will be amazed at the difference it makes. They have a tremendous selection of knives particularly Wusthoff which makes a large selection of reasonably priced knives (not cheap but they are going to last you a long, long time). They also have reconditioned knives which can be a real bargain. I love good knives so I am sorely tempted every time I go to Eversharp. I own a lot more than the basic three I mentioned above but I still use only three with any regularity. What can I say that hasn't already been said? This is the real deal. Outstanding sharpening. While you wait in my case meant 10 minutes! That is crazy-fast! And there's plenty of awesome merch to keep you busy while you wait: tremendous knife selection, solid Staub pieces, great kitchen gadgets, even candy. Mexican chocolate bars! Friendly? Heck yes! And 5 knives for under $20! Needless to say, my knives are wicked sharp. Just couldn't wait to come home and try out our newly sharpened knives. So after eating dinner out and not being remotely hungry, decided that I had to slice up an apple. Seriously it was like we were living in the dark ages and somebody gave us light. Sharp knives make all the difference in the world. The actual weight of the knife was all I needed to slice straight through. No effort at all. The one question I didn't get to ask is if it really is safer to have a sharp knife in the kitchen - I'm guessing yes since you aren't as likely to slip while forcing the knife into your food to chop? Dunno. What I do know is that I will be back. They do this while you wait. If you go over lunch, be prepared to wait. If you go at 2 or 3, you'll be the only person in the shop and will be out in under 10 minutes or so. read more

We drove all the way from Eagan for Eversharp and they didn't disappoint. Knife Sharpening- a chef knife is 3 dollars, when we walked in there was no waiting and the whole thing took about 2 minutes. While your knife won't have the mirror gloss of doing it by hand on a high grit stone it came back more than sufficiently sharp for general kitchen use. The knife we brought in was a Shun Classic that hadn't been sharpened in over a year and had gotten noticeably dull. When we returned home it was once again flying through onions with no noticeable resistance. Store- they have a huge selection of knives in the store and most of them seemed to be priced pretty reasonably so if you are looking to get an expensive Japanese knife and want to test the feel /handle etc this would be a good place to shop. They also have a large selection of Wustoff knives if you want a more classic French knife. read more

You walk in and are in great company - business cards from all the well-known area restaurants are displayed under the glass covered counter-top. Jo immediately recognized my Cutco knives and was kind when he spoke of them. Since I'd taken all my knives to be sharpened and because they had just ended their discount service promo, he discounted the usual price. They offer $1/knife sharpening promos 1-3 times a year and you can sign up by email for notifications. Joe Gamache is the knife sharpener and he was super friendly. Admired and tried some of the Wusthof knives they have. Ended up buying Wusthof kitchen shears that was discounted. Great store and great service. Am loving my super-sharp knives. read more

My first thought when I walked in here is that Edward Scissorhands would have a lot of fun in a place like this. Or maybe this place would have a lot of fun with Edward Scissorhands! This is a cool place. My love for food and cooking certainly carries over to having the best tools. We have had an excellent set of knives that have lasted over 20 years. Just like any tool that gets used, they need to be sharpened from time to time. I actually have too many knives. I have at least one knife for each finger and toe that I have with some to spare. I have been to some different locations around the cities for sharpening and I have no idea why I did not come here earlier. That is a mistake I will not repeat. We brought our knives in and were greeted right away. They were having a sale and were rather busy. The nice lady that helped us took an inventory of our knives and explained it would be 15 or 20 minutes. That's all?!?!?! Great I was going to look around at all the different knives and cooking gadgets as I love that stuff. Before you know it this nice gentleman picked up our knives and began sharpening them while we watched. Less than 10 minutes later we were ready to go. I was kind of shocked at how quick their work is and saddened at the same time because I wanted more time to peruse all the fun stuff in the store. The gentleman that did the sharpening took a few minutes to speak with us about our knives. He stated that he recommends sharpening every 6 months to year depending on your use and that professional chef's actually sharpen their knives on a monthly basis. Also the best tip he provided was to be sure to hone your knives before every use. I can tell you from experience that the sharper a knife the safer it is. This is true. Unless you drop it on your foot and you're wearing flip flops. In that case the Universe is sending you a message. Most accidents and cuts do happen with a dull knife because the individual is doing more of the work and not letting the knife do the work. I have already used our knives and notice a big difference. This is a great place and I will definitely be back within 6 months for some more sharpening. Bonus is they can sharpen scissors (Edward would be so proud) and serrated knives. My collection of knives and scissors cost less than $30.00 to sharpen. Very affordable! read more

The refurbished knives are an excellent value - I got a refurbished, less gorgeous-looking, but still excellent meat cleaver - new would be $100 or more - for $50, and it takes chickens apart just as effectively. In the neighborhood and decided to get my knives sharpened(yes, this happens to me all the time), as some of you know, I cook a lot(actually I eat more than I cook) and demand my knives to be sharp @ all times. In come this place! Wow, they have a huge collection. They pretty much have everything! They only charge only $2 sharpening per knife - what a great price. EVERYBODY was rediculiously nice and helpful in the store. I could have spent @ least 2-3 hours in there to look @ all the different knives they have there and probably cut myself in the process.
