I dropped my deceased parents' photo albums off at a location in VA on July 2. The man at the store told me EverPresent would pick them up in a few days, I'd get a quote, and they'd be back to me in 3 weeks. It's been a month, and I still haven't been called for a quote. I call the company every few days, talk to some operator, and they always promise me they'll expedite things and send me an update. Still no response. We are moving internationally, and I've expressed this, but there has been no quote or movement on my photo albums. So we've told them now to send them back so we can have the photo albums when we move. They apologize and say they follow up, but then get the generic response back over email every time. These are pretty much the greatest memories I have of my dead parents, and they're just sitting somewhere. This is infuriating, and I encourage everyone to stay away from this company if they want their photos digitized in a timely manner. I was very dubious about the claims this company made in their advertising. I had a 31-year-old VCR tape that had been played about 3 times before the cassette broke and over the years I knew that the video tape had deteriorated. So I sent this company the tape and they did live up to their claims. In reviewing the DVD, I found that it was exceptional! Now I plan to use them again for another old VCR tape. Paid a premium to get 125+ Mini DV tapes converted to digital files. Overall the results were satisfactory. However the process of having to individually download that many files was extremely inefficient. Most file sharing services have a much more streamlined interface for these types of things. My biggest issue was the lack of care when sending my tapes back. I meticulously packaged the tapes when I sent them to Everpresent. All in rows, no dead space, box within a box, etc. As anyone would when trusting the USPS with 1 of 1 items. When they returned them to me, they were thrown into a box twice as big as needed, one small sheet of thin bubble wrap. A lot of the cases were cracked as I'm sure the box was thrown around in the 2 weeks it took for them to show up. Sure I have it all digitally now - but when you pay a premium for a service, the hope is that they will treat your items with care and respect. Bad way to end a transaction. read more

It's been 7 weeks and I have not gotten any "progress updates." When I call, I'm told they can't give me any idea of when my job will be done. Then I got a form letter "Thanks for your patience". I am not saying that they don't do a good job (no results yet), but they should know the length of the queue and not be saying 3-4 weeks (website and order taker) when it's not. read more

No I chose EverPresent to digitize my family photos after my mother passed away. The initial estimated price was upheld. After agreeing to the initial quote, I was later told it would cost an additional $600 to improve image quality. At no point before committing was I told that enhancements cost extra, after speaking to the owner it will be something in the future they will include for images that are severely damaged. organization was not attempted, I had put the photos in folders to protect them and I believe it was assumed that was organized. In the future I believe the customer should be asked if they intend to organize the photos themselves. I later received marketing for their "Digital Photo Organizing" service, which promises duplicate removal and organization, but this is a separate, service that was never clearly distinguished upfront. When using the service ask specifically if the photos will be returned to your home or a drop off location. These photos were irreplaceable memories tied to my late mother, and that context was clearly communicated. The photos came out nice, they did a good job with them, the packaging they sent back with them was done with love and they do a great packaging job to ensure nothing happens to your photos during return or storage. read more

Everpresent digitized 3 of my childhood VHS tapes and everything came out exactly as I had hoped. Luckily my tapes were all legible, and were carefully taken care of before bringing to them. The process took about 5 weeks which is right around the timeline they give for a project my size. Overall, the process can be nerve racking, since these are special one-of-a-kind tapes, but everything came out great. I recommend Everpresent to anyone trying to digitize their old media. Sent a 2LP vinyl to converted to CD. The first CD keeps fading in and out. Not a very good quality. The second CD was a little better. They charge an outrageous price for poor quality! Horrible to deal with. First they quoted one price, then said it will take a month to get the job done. Only way around it is to pay a rush fee. I said forget it. Send my pictures back. Total runaround and empty promises to return my photos to me. Still waiting after two weeks of promises from different staff. No one knows anything. The receptionists seem to be in a different country and you can't call anyone directly in the local office. I am over 80. My dad gave me a camera when I was a kid, so the negatives and slides I sent in were old. Also I inherited my parents' negatives. (I didn't have the prints.) Much of my parents' stuff, from the 1930's, was jammed into tatty old envelopes with scribbled notes on them. The EverPresent guys went through all that, digitized and labeled it all. It was not cheap but it saved irreplaceable memories. I have video (film) taken in 1944 of a family event. I had sent it to a competitor service and I could not use what I got back. So I then sent it to EverPresent and got back something I feel I can put on Ancestry.com to preserve the history. read more

I was late to the game getting my videos off to be converted to digital. The woman who took my call ensured my I would have them in time as a gift for my young adult kids for Christmas. Being early 2000s kids we did not have cell phones to record their baby moments, just cassette recorders. I couldn't even download the videos. So unheard of and so absurd to charge the amount I paid to view something for a limited amount of time. WARNING: PREDATORY BUSINESS I sent in a single mini DV tape to be digitized. It took a week before I heard anything back, and when I did, they told me it would take a month to get the tape back. I couldn't wait a month. I told them this was a very sentimental tape that I needed sooner, so I asked them to send the tape back to me so I could go somewhere else. They asked if they could do it within one week, would that work? I said yes, thank you. Two days later I was called and told that they reviewed my tape and that, once again, it would take a month to process. I told them the previous person I spoke to said it could be done within a week, and that's when I was told that it could be done FOR TWICE THE ORIGINAL COST which was already $72. For a single tape. I could not justify spending nearly $150 for that. I told them ONCE AGAIN to send me my tape back. I already wasted so much time waiting. They overnighted it to me, charged me an additional $13, so I spent $85 for them to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT EXPLOIT SOMEONE WHO JUST WANTED TO GET BACK THE TAPE OF THE BIRTH OF HER CHILDHOOD CAT WHO HAD JUST DIED. Absolutely do not go here. Find somewhere else. They don't care about their customers. They care about making money. read more

I contacted EverPresent after seeing an ad. Was quoted $21.99 to digitize about 45 minutes of TOTAL video from 2 VHS tapes. Took it to the local "drop-off" location with a sticky note on each tape saying what I wanted copied, as well as filled out a form the clerk gave me. I then started receiving emails with charges of $75 (they said it was $21.99 PER TAPE even though I only wanted a few minutes off each tape, plus a $30 "service fee" that was never discussed before) They refunded the $30, but later tried to add more fees because they said there was over 4 hours of video on the tape! I again reiterated my instructions that I didn't want the whole tapes, just the small sections! New charges refunded. When I finally got the link to view my final project, 1 tape was done correctly, the other contained over 4hours of unwanted video in a file WAY too large to put on a flash drive or email to friends and family! Have gone in circles with "representatives" and even a call from a supervisor of customer service, but they refused to make this right, and tried to pressure me to remove an earlier bad review I gave them! I will now have to challenge the charges with my credit card company since the "finished" product I received was useless to me (Also never got a USB drive because they claim I chose the wrong package, again even though this was never discussed with me!!) The only thing they offered was for an additional $150, they would edit the section of the video I had requested! (Which would take all of 5 minutes!!) Absolute Garbage! Do not use this company. I sent them 4-video 8 tapes. They all play perfectly on my Video camcorder. What I got back from them was complete garbage! Totally unwatchable. While I am satisfied with the audio file transfer I paid for I am hugely disappointed that they sent me a follow up email asking for a TIP. Yep, you read that right. They asked for a tip for their workers on top of the fee. I paid about $170 for a 30 min audio tape to digital conversion. The email from the owners expressly notes that they are part of the service industry and that is why they are asking for a tip. But your wage laws are not the same as restaurants. This was such a sour note to end the relationship on - and something they easily could have avoided. read more

I had an old VHS tape I wanted digitized and found them online. I dropped the tape off at a local shop and was told it needed to be transported to their headquarters out of state. I should have left at that point but I said fine instead. A few days later I got notification that the tape was received and being processed. Then I got a call from some type of salesman who wanted permission to fix the tape IF something was wrong for a fee. I should have hung up and asked for the tape back but again I didn't. A few days later they said my tape had mold or something and could not be repaired. They charged me $45 dollars and gave me nothing. Save yourself some time and money and find a local place to inspect your tape or film instead of being charged for nonsense. read more

I gave them a 40 year old cassette to convert to a digital flash drive of music I composed. The tape still plays well on a cheap cassette player without any sound loss. The version they gave me had a huge amount of technical issues they said was the result of an old tape. Not buying any of their excuses. Sounds like they transferred it with a 40 year old Walkman with mechanical issues at very low volume.
