No I chose EverPresent to digitize my family photos after my mother passed away. The initial estimated price was upheld. After agreeing to the initial quote, I was later told it would cost an additional $600 to improve image quality. At no point before committing was I told that enhancements cost extra, after speaking to the owner it will be something in the future they will include for images that are severely damaged. organization was not attempted, I had put the photos in folders to protect them and I believe it was assumed that was organized. In the future I believe the customer should be asked if they intend to organize the photos themselves. I later received marketing for their "Digital Photo Organizing" service, which promises duplicate removal and organization, but this is a separate, service that was never clearly distinguished upfront. When using the service ask specifically if the photos will be returned to your home or a drop off location. These photos were irreplaceable memories tied to my late mother, and that context was clearly communicated. The photos came out nice, they did a good job with them, the packaging they sent back with them was done with love and they do a great packaging job to ensure nothing happens to your photos during return or storage. read more

I was late to the game getting my videos off to be converted to digital. The woman who took my call ensured my I would have them in time as a gift for my young adult kids for Christmas. Being early 2000s kids we did not have cell phones to record their baby moments, just cassette recorders. So they were surprised and thrilled to see these moments and enjoyed hours of memories that would have otherwise be gone forever. Ever-present was fast and professional with a mix of feeling like family operated yet professional so I felt safe sending my prized memories to them. I couldn't even download the videos. So unheard of and so absurd to charge the amount I paid to view something for a limited amount of time. Everpresent digitized 3 of my childhood VHS tapes and everything came out exactly as I had hoped. Luckily my tapes were all legible, and were carefully taken care of before bringing to them. The process took about 5 weeks which is right around the timeline they give for a project my size. Overall, the process can be nerve racking, since these are special one-of-a-kind tapes, but everything came out great. I recommend Everpresent to anyone trying to digitize their old media. Price was slightly higher than I had expected, but I had nothing to reference. read more

Horrible to deal with. First they quoted one price, then said it will take a month to get the job done. Only way around it is to pay a rush fee. I said forget it. Send my pictures back. Total runaround and empty promises to return my photos to me. Still waiting after two weeks of promises from different staff. No one knows anything. The receptionists seem to be in a different country and you can't call anyone directly in the local office. No one follows through, and no one seems to know what the other staff person is saying or doing. Do not send anything important to them. You may not get it back. read more

I am over 80. My dad gave me a camera when I was a kid, so the negatives and slides I sent in were old. Also I inherited my parents' negatives. (I didn't have the prints.) Much of my parents' stuff, from the 1930's, was jammed into tatty old envelopes with scribbled notes on them. The EverPresent guys went through all that, digitized and labeled it all. It was not cheap but it saved irreplaceable memories. I have video (film) taken in 1944 of a family event. I had sent it to a competitor service and I could not use what I got back. So I then sent it to EverPresent and got back something I feel I can put on Ancestry.com to preserve the history. read more

WARNING: PREDATORY BUSINESS I sent in a single mini DV tape to be digitized. It took a week before I heard anything back, and when I did, they told me it would take a month to get the tape back. I couldn't wait a month. I told them this was a very sentimental tape that I needed sooner, so I asked them to send the tape back to me so I could go somewhere else. They asked if they could do it within one week, would that work? I said yes, thank you. Two days later I was called and told that they reviewed my tape and that, once again, it would take a month to process. I told them the previous person I spoke to said it could be done within a week, and that's when I was told that it could be done FOR TWICE THE ORIGINAL COST which was already $72. For a single tape. I could not justify spending nearly $150 for that. I told them ONCE AGAIN to send me my tape back. I already wasted so much time waiting. They overnighted it to me, charged me an additional $13, so I spent $85 for them to do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT EXPLOIT SOMEONE WHO JUST WANTED TO GET BACK THE TAPE OF THE BIRTH OF HER CHILDHOOD CAT WHO HAD JUST DIED. Absolutely do not go here. Find somewhere else. They don't care about their customers. They care about making money. read more

Absolute Garbage! Do not use this company. I sent them 4-video 8 tapes. They all play perfectly on my Video camcorder. What I got back from them was complete garbage! Totally unwatchable. Giant streak through the middle of every video. Blank spots and jumpy audio. I played the tapes when I got them back and they are just fine. The digital copies are JUNK!! While I am satisfied with the audio file transfer I paid for I am hugely disappointed that they sent me a follow up email asking for a TIP. Yep, you read that right. They asked for a tip for their workers on top of the fee. I paid about $170 for a 30 min audio tape to digital conversion. The email from the owners expressly notes that they are part of the service industry and that is why they are asking for a tip. But your wage laws are not the same as restaurants. This was such a sour note to end the relationship on - and something they easily could have avoided. read more

I had an old VHS tape I wanted digitized and found them online. I dropped the tape off at a local shop and was told it needed to be transported to their headquarters out of state. I should have left at that point but I said fine instead. A few days later I got notification that the tape was received and being processed. Then I got a call from some type of salesman who wanted permission to fix the tape IF something was wrong for a fee. I should have hung up and asked for the tape back but again I didn't. A few days later they said my tape had mold or something and could not be repaired. They charged me $45 dollars and gave me nothing. Save yourself some time and money and find a local place to inspect your tape or film instead of being charged for nonsense. read more

Best customer service I have experienced in my life. I used them a few years ago to digitize hundreds of family photos. The process took a long time but I told them I had no deadline. They emailed me lots of updates as things progressed and gave me lots of options for storage. I got a USB drive with my photos and I appreciated the condition in which they returned my photos. I gave them a 40 year old cassette to convert to a digital flash drive of music I composed. The tape still plays well on a cheap cassette player without any sound loss. The version they gave me had a huge amount of technical issues they said was the result of an old tape. Not buying any of their excuses. Sounds like they transferred it with a 40 year old Walkman with mechanical issues at very low volume. I've been recording on audio for over 50 years and their staff doesn't know what they're doing. read more

Everpresent digitized several boxes full of my mother's photo albums. They did a stunningly beautiful job scanning,organizing and touching up the photos. The pick-up and drop-off service was excellent. The service was expensive and took months, but it was worth it to me to preserve these family memories. The negative side is that it was difficult to get through the automated system to speak to a human, and the staff always seemed to call me back at the worst times (days after I reached out to them). This was particularly a problem when I discovered that Everpresent mixed in another family's home-movie DVDs with my photos. I couldn't get anyone at the company to address the problem. I finally hunted down the other family via the internet and returned the DVDs to them. read more

I have 4 cassette tapes of audio recordings from my first few years of life in Hong Kong. My father recorded my sister and I having conversations with him, other members of our family and friends, from the time we could speak. I've been holding onto this precious cargo since the early 2000's. I've even considered putting them into a safe deposit box at a bank because they are so valuable to me - they're the items I think about first when I think of what I would try to reach for if there was ever a fire. I knew I wanted to have these tapes digitized but I'd been wary of doing so over the last decade - just knowing I had no backups. When I moved to CT, I found the Everpresent website and decided to take a chance after reading the reviews and checking out what to expect in terms of timing and pricing. I was very impressed with the entire process. Over the course of several weeks, I was updated multiple times via email about the status of my order, the pricing was transparent, and I had the option to rush it if needed (which I didn't). I felt like my tapes were in very safe hands - which ultimately gave me much peace of mind. The digital files turned out great (crisp and clear) and I've shared them with my other family members since. I would absolutely work with Everpresent again. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!! They lie and take your money without even completing the project! We started converting some old tapes to digital on our own, but found a few tapes in a bag labelled "damaged". Decided not to risk trying to copy them so looked for a local place that could work with damaged tapes. We liked that we could drop them off in person and not have to worry about mailing them, but didn't realize the drop off areas are just that. The tapes are picked up from there and taken to Massachusetts. Then they called requesting 50% payment in order to start so we sent payment. Here's the first lie which is posted on their website: "...email technology to keep you updated every step of the way" About a week later, we received an email stating: "Your videos and/or audio material is now safely digitized and backed up on our secure servers. You can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the most important step in the process is complete. These important memories are preserved in a modern digital format that will last for generations!" We did just that - breathed a sigh of relief to hear that news. But then, 3 days later, they called to say they were UNABLE to back up ANY of the tapes because they had mold. So why did I receive an email saying they were successful? My guess is that "email technology" they refer to is just an automated system. So while it says to "Trust" them, don't be fooled into thinking you are receiving updates on YOUR order! THAT'S A BIG LIE! The tapes were sent back to the shop. I picked them up. A few days later, I got an email saying the tapes were ready to be picked up. (Another automated lie, since I had already picked them up) Then they proceeded to charge $45 for their pickup and delivery even though they were unable to backup a single tape and even though they drive to these shops weekly to pick up and drop off media for people. I have looked through the website, my email correspondence and the paper I received when I dropped off the tapes and have not been able to find that fee listed anywhere, but I saw another review mentioned it being in the fine print somewhere. I consider that another LIE. If you're not making it easily known to your customers and you need to hide it somewhere, that's some SHADY business! So that was a WASTE OF MONEY! I immediately researched companies that specialize in damaged tapes/moldy tapes and found several. I was pleased to find that every one of them stated they do not charge for anything they aren't successful in converting. To avoid getting scammed a second time, I chose 2 different companies. Both of these other companies were able to fix/clean the tapes and successfully back them up! AVOID USING EVERPRESENT unless you like being lied to and spending extra money for every step! Funny how all the reviews on their website are good ones. Not sure where they get them from since I didn't see a way to leave a review on their site, but I guess they just choose to copy the good reviews to cover up all the bad ones! MORE LIES! One last thing - before sending the tapes to another company, I decided to try playing one of them. Not only did it play, but I was able to play it and back it up on my own! So why did they say they couldn't? Another lie? DO YOUR RESEARCH! There are so many better companies out there that actually do what they say they're going to do! read more

I'm very pleased with the digitized version of our family's home movies. They're now preserved in this form and safely stored both on hard drive and cloud. Video transfer was fine. But buyer beware! The info online re: price and the price that I paid was MUCH higher than stated. Plus, a visit to retrieve my tape was handled less than professionally, likewise the phone call from one of the companies higher-ups, who simply wasn't accepting my displeasure with the total price. I was contacted by Eric Niloff, CEO of EverPresent, about five days after posting my previous review. Eric was direct, forthcoming, and contrite. He did not dispute my experience but instead offered that it should never have happened and that the company has various safeguards in place to ensure that an experience like mine (e.g. significant delays in delivery of finished product, substandard scan quality, and lapses in communication) isn't the norm. Eric offered to reimburse the full amount of my service and to have the scans edited. I took him up on this offer. Eric also assured me that this extra service was not a "quid pro quo" for revisions of my previous review. Nonetheless, I told him that I'd likely revise or update the review pending the outcome of EverPresent's second effort. I was later contacted by a company representative and advised that it would be necessary for the photographs to be re-scanned. Rather than have me drop the photographs off again, they arranged for the photos to be picked up from my home at my convenience. This was helpful and also appreciated. The revised scans (and original photos) were left at my home on July 29, 2022. The scan quality is much improved and I appreciate both having higher quality scans and the company's efforts to make things right. read more

Everpresent (EP) claimed to be able to restore an audio file, and failed in the end to produce anything of value. A WW2 vintage audio letter on 33 rpm vinyl was entrusted to EP for A2D conversion and audio restoration. The end result were two failed attempts at audio restoration and totally unacceptable digital recordings. At a loss, they claimed that the only option to get better results was for me to invest in physical reatoration of the vinyl disc. Insensed by such incompetence, they knew nothing about audio restoration using FFT software, and the audicity to claim that they did have such software and knew how to use it, i collected my vinyl and demanded a refund. I did get the refund and vinyl. However, the vinyl disc, which had no visible defects when it was given to them, was returned to me with a very obvious crack running crossways through 80% of the grooves. When I noted that the vinyl was cracked and that they were responsible, they expressed their sympathy and said that it was a shame without offering any compensation. I did find a professional lab that remastered the recording, despite the crack, and using the best wave form restoration software available, in very capable hands, the lab turned out a masterpiece of exceptional quality, at exactly the same cost as the incompetent, inexperienced and lying Everpresent. read more
