I was contacted by Eric Niloff, CEO of EverPresent, about five days after posting my previous review. Eric was direct, forthcoming, and contrite. He did not dispute my experience but instead offered that it should never have happened and that the company has various safeguards in place to ensure that an experience like mine (e.g. significant delays in delivery of finished product, substandard scan quality, and lapses in communication) isn't the norm. Eric offered to reimburse the full amount of my service and to have the scans edited. I took him up on this offer. Eric also assured me that this extra service was not a "quid pro quo" for revisions of my previous review. Nonetheless, I told him that I'd likely revise or update the review pending the outcome of EverPresent's second effort. I was later contacted by a company representative and advised that it would be necessary for the photographs to be re-scanned. Rather than have me drop the photographs off again, they arranged for the photos to be picked up from my home at my convenience. This was helpful and also appreciated. The revised scans (and original photos) were left at my home on July 29, 2022. The scan quality is much improved and I appreciate both having higher quality scans and the company's efforts to make things right. read more

Everpresent (EP) claimed to be able to restore an audio file, and failed in the end to produce anything of value. A WW2 vintage audio letter on 33 rpm vinyl was entrusted to EP for A2D conversion and audio restoration. The end result were two failed attempts at audio restoration and totally unacceptable digital recordings. At a loss, they claimed that the only option to get better results was for me to invest in physical reatoration of the vinyl disc. Insensed by such incompetence, they knew nothing about audio restoration using FFT software, and the audicity to claim that they did have such software and knew how to use it, i collected my vinyl and demanded a refund. I did get the refund and vinyl. However, the vinyl disc, which had no visible defects when it was given to them, was returned to me with a very obvious crack running crossways through 80% of the grooves. When I noted that the vinyl was cracked and that they were responsible, they expressed their sympathy and said that it was a shame without offering any compensation. I did find a professional lab that remastered the recording, despite the crack, and using the best wave form restoration software available, in very capable hands, the lab turned out a masterpiece of exceptional quality, at exactly the same cost as the incompetent, inexperienced and lying Everpresent. read more

if there was a no star rating, I would've given it that... This company is founded on the premise of " over promise and under deliver"... I've rarely experienced this level of inept service and poor communication... And at the end of the day when they were a month and a half later than anticipated return of my tape transferred to a thumb drive... They claimed the audio was very poor and the video had some degradation... And they thumb drive to me with absolutely nothing on it... After a phone call, I received an email from Kate... she was supposed to call me at a specific time and didn't... I wrote her a very detailed explanation of what the problem was... And she never responded to it. Find someone else... There are plenty of other companies... This one sounds good... Makes lots of promises... Looks like a great company... All of that's just not the case... This company is "all show and no go"... Customer Service is handled by people who barely speak English... And my experience was when it finally got to the point where somebody here in the United States Responded... They simply ignored me. read more

We had about 45 VCR tapes that we retrieved from our parent's basement after they died. Precious memories. I also found a 8mm video from 1954 of my Mom's graduation from college. Everpresent was with me all the way, keeping communication lines open, and very clear about the pricing (which I thought was very fair). They wouldn't add anything that wasn't included in the initial quote unless I approved it (which was cleaning some mold off the 1954 tape). The resulting flashdrive was awesome; each one of us kids now have our priceless memories, and we don't have to worry anymore about tapes rotting in a box somewhere. I found Everpresent when I wanted to take our old family photos and digitize them as I was working on a memoir with my father. The salesperson on the initial call said that once we dropped our 101 photos off it'd be about 1-2 weeks for them to scan them in and then about a week to get them back. They charge by bundle so I could have had 150 photos, but I had 101 which is the worst amount to have since I paid for 150 photos. What I found was that every step of the way for everything you could imagine possibly they charged you a upcharge - and they kept your photos hostage while doing so, not returning them until you paid for each next upcharge. You had a piece of tape on a corner or a staple? Charge. Your photos are discolored? Charge. oh you want them back? charge. Oh you want them back faster (because I was told a week I said no, and they arrived a month later). Then after all the torture you login and try to get a link to download your photos? request entered, you cant actually directly download them, they received your request and then eventually send you a link. They automatically charge you for storage as a yearly subscription on going unless you get in there to cancel. Here I am thinking that in 3 weeks for less than $100 Id have my photos scanned 3 months later for more than $500 I finally received my 101 photos. Please do not ever use them and try somewhere else. read more

I had Everpresent digitize approximately 20 VHS tapes. Although two of the tapes that I sent showed significant visual drop out they were able to work through the problems and digitize my precious memories, I was very pleased with the results. I highly recommend that you have your old VHS tapes transferred as soon as possible and would recommend Everpresent for this service. read more

Was reluctant to trust anyone with my treasured pictures, CD's and VHS films but heard only good things about EverPresent. I went to a local location to drop off my items and within a short period of time, I received an email from the company taking me through all the steps and the cost to transfer to a stick drive. They were in email communication from the beginning, with an estimate, and then updates on the progress of the project. I could not have been happier with the communication and the final product. I had a floppy disk that had files I could not read from around 2003. They said they could figure out the program used and convert them to a format I could read. 1 month later I received an email saying the project was complete. I received a thumb drive with the same unreadable files on it. All they did was transfer the files from a floppy to a thumb drive, which I could have done. They charged me $75.00. Make sure you get in writing what service will be performed. read more

Update - 4 stars for the post-project completion customer service. I was contacted by customer service after sharing the feedback of my experience. I was told that the vast majority of VHS tapes they receive are 2 hours, so mine were an anomaly. As the length of the tapes is what led to the significant difference in price between the estimate and the final invoice, the customer service representative offered to refund the 'video tape over 2.5 hours' and the 'video tape over 4 hours' charges, which I thought was fair as this returned the final cost to what the estimate had been. Hopefully they will start to ask and confirm for each customer calling about VHS to DVD transfers what the length of their tapes is and then provide a min-max range (eg, it will be X dollars if all the tapes are 2.5 hours or less, and it will be Y dollars if all tapes are more than 4 hours) - this way, pricing transparency will let the customer know up front what the cost would be should they be in the minority that has the lengthier tapes. The multiple DVDs I have received for a single tape still mean that I have to get up and switch DVDs half-way through a movie. I was told the solution to that is to use digital files rather than DVDs - but I prefer DVDs. I would have thought it'd be easy to transfer the content from a single VHS tape to the multiple DVDs at the natural end of each movie/segment to prevent (or at least minimize) getting up to have to switch the DVD mid-way through watching. I would have asked whether this was possible if I had known a true 1:1 transfer was not possible and multiple DVDs for a single VHS tape were what I would be receiving. Jody, the customer service agent who contacted me about the negative feedback, was very polite, respectful, and patient. I imagine my initial project experience and expectation would have been very different if I had received the level of attention and customer service that she provided post-project completion. read more

I am a repeat customer and have been really happy with the results and care with the projects I submitted, and have given positive feedback as well. However, in 2023 I am really seeing a difference from previous years in that I used to be able to share for 90 days using a link they would provide, and it was awesome. Now there is an app instead- and it's terrible. I can't play any videos or voice clips from the app, let alone share them. Downloading is also not intuitive. And the customer service link only wants you to use it if you are a prospective customer. Super disappointing given how easy it was before. read more

Everpresent came through for me this Holiday season! I had nine 8mm tapes from the late 80's/early 90's that sat dormant for many years until my sisters and I decided to get them transferred to digital formats for my parents this Christmas. I submitted my request, and by the next day, received a phone call from a representative to go over mail-in, how the process works, and what to expect. Packaging the tapes up and sending via FedEx worked the best for both of us - the moment they received the box, I was notified, and had been continuously kept in the loop the entire time. I received my digital download link well before their estimated transfer time and was able to share these precious memories with many family members - and most importantly, our parents. With it being the holiday season and 2020 - my tapes and transferred USB have not yet returned as they are stuck in the USPS chaos, but I trust they will make their way back here at some point. Huge thank you to the Everpresent logistics, representatives, production, and quality check team - there was nothing more special than receiving the cloud link containing all the digitized tapes, the check list of what they ran into while converting the tapes, and the assurance that they did the best they can do. It was because of this team that we could approach the end of 2020 with such a warmth in our hearts. For anyone considering Everpresent - do it. Have a conversation with them, they are the friendliest service with real people working behind the scenes. You must also understand that the conditions of your tapes are what is being digitized - you cannot expect an ultra HD make over of your tapes - which is okay! My experience with this company was very disappointing. All I had was simple conversion up two VHS tapes, each 20 minutes long to digital. I was quoted a two week turnaround time. Which I could reduce to 10 days if I went to their headquarters and picked up my tapes. I thought the amount of time for turnaround was very excessive. I told him that I do not care about the tapes at all, and they could throw them out and simply send me an email with the links to the digital renderings. They simply refused, insisted that I had to go in. Reaching them by phone is almost impossible. You leave a message and within 2 to 3 hours they will call you back. Because, I was in a rush I drove in, due to traffic it took me over an hour. Going home was only 30 minutes. In total I wasted 90 minutes, some precious gas and polluted the environment. When I got there, being the only customer there it took about 10 minutes to be waited on. I was finally given my tapes, I asked where the trash bucket was, and then I threw them away. Handed them they're very pretty bag back and ask him to please use the bag again. I did asked to speak to the manager, who kindly listen to me for 10 minutes, I explain how customer unfriendly I felt their process was, what a waste to environment. She politely explain to me it was their policy. Currently a lot of people don't pick up their stuff, so they had to make them come down to pick up their stuff so they won't just leave it there before giving them their digital assets. I got that, but I didn't want my videos back. I think she got it, but I didn't get any impression they were going to change their policy. The quality of the digital recordings I got back was OK, one had some pretty bad crackling sound. But in fairness to them the videos were 19 years old. To summarize, I don't think they're very customer centric, they think about what matters to them and not their customer. But clearly business is very good. read more

The representatives rarely reached out, refused to show updates outside of a screenshot of a bunch of computer files. I sent in an LP to be transferred to digital last year. The process was exorbitantly expensive (close to $100 for a single LP transferred to a USB drive). The audio quality of what I got back was pretty poor - EQ was too low and there was clipping in many places. The original LP was mastered at a professional recording studio in Britain and sounded great so what they received was not poor quality. They called to follow up a few weeks later, which I appreciated, and I mentioned the poor audio quality, and they just said "oh so sorry to hear that" but made no offer to fix it. Follow up, I'm STILL getting robocalls from them with solicitations for work. I reported the robocalls to the FTC. I want nothing more to do with this company. read more

I did three separate projects with Everpresent and they did a fantastic job on all of them. The first was 8mm and VHS home movies. I was very nervous turning over these treasures, but that's how they treated them. They explained the process, and later I received a call explaining my options. The results were great, and the originals were returned the same as when I dropped them. The second project was a number of photo albums from my wife's family from long ago, including parents, grandparents, etc. I was less nervous, but still concerned, since these are irreplaceable. Again, a great job. Finally, I had them digitize our wedding album. Still nervous, but confident, they did another great job. Seeing some of the other reviews, I don't dispute their experience, but mine in all three projects was very good. But more importantly, you can trust them to treat your very important personal items as if they were their own. read more

I worked with Everpresent to digitize some old 35mm tape along with a VCR tape or two. I found them to be very professional, easy to work with, and not only was my order completed ontime, but I got the output both on a weblink and a flashdrive. Whenever I had a question, they were right there to answer it. Great job Everypresent! If you need digital conversion done, you won't go wrong with Everpresent. I should say too that the 35mm was video from 50 years ago, and it really showed how much my father, Albert, was a great Dad, did lots of fun things with his sons, and was really the only one in two large families that has the presence of mind and a big heart to capture family video - no one else did, so great job Dad! read more

I am writing a review also based on customer service. 10 weeks ago I dropped off my VHS tapes a long with with some 8mm movies. After reviewing my project they contacted me to give me a cost to complete my transfer over to DVD. They (estimated) my project would take 5 to 6 weeks. After week 8 I tried to contact them to check on how things were going. I had to leave a message, for no one every answers the phone. The next day I received a email stating that someone would contact me in 1 to 2 business days. Well, 4 business days later I received another email saying the my project would be completed in 1 to 2 weeks later. Well it's been 16 days, and a total of 10 weeks and I'm still waiting. I called AGAIN and left a message AGAIN asking for someone to please CALL me back. You, guessed it, I'm still waiting. I like Jay J. I think I may have made a big mistake leaving my family memories with this company, and wondering if I'll ever see my DVD's. I would be happy just getting my VHS tapes and movies back. P S, They didn't waist anytime charging my credit card $1000.00 for a deposit!! Tell customers it will take 10 to 12 weeks, and then call after 8 weeks to say your project is ready!!! We would be so happy that we received our DVD's 2 weeks early. read more

Rep kept quoting $29.99 then correcting herself when I said you mean $25.99....also quoted me $150 for editing and when I told her it says $80 on your web site she said nothing on their website says $80....so I looked it up and told her exactly where it says it....she said well it would definitely be a couple if hours so you will pay the same.
