I spent days preparing my 1,000 sq ft front yard including spraying original Bermuda, hauling 4 loads of old sod and dirt to the landfill, and days of raking and watering to settle the ground as instructed only to end with one pallet of sod that looked green and healthy and the 2nd pallet looked weak and grey/green. Turned out they gave me a mixed batch of different Bermuda hybrids, so now I don't really know what I have. They assured us when we called after the installers laid it that some must have been cut at the end of the row. Three weeks later it is obvious one pallet was an overseeded Bermuda and the other pallet was likely the original hybrid (TifTuf) we ordered that we knew was not seeded. We leave in Arizona and we purchased TifGrand grass last year from this Evergreen Turf company. Half of the grass is already dead The grass was installed last year. We previously had grass purchased from Home Depot and that lasted for 12 years but this one can't go more than a year. The Order Confirmation is #18-165233, Transaction ID: 61043521988 and the Transaction Date: Apr 09, 2018. We called Evergreen Turf company for help in fixing the issues with the grass. They just provided some instructions saying that we overwatered the grass. We told them that we kept the same schedule we had on the grass purchased from Home Depot and that one was doing great this one is dead. They were trying to find anothe problem saying that it was not fertilized every 3 weeks. We told them that we fertilized once this year like we used to do with the grass purchased from Home Depot and that one was doing great but this one is dead even that we put 2 inch of manure mixed with fertile dirt under the sod purchase from this Evergreen Turf company. We told them that this manure should last for at least 2 years and provide enough food for the grass. It seems that this is not enough for this company to help. We changed the watering schedule to 25 minutes every other day like they instructed but the rest of the grass that was still alive is now dying too. Definately this schedule does not work for temperatures between 100-120 degrees we have in Arizona. Please do a favor to you and do not purchase from this company since there is no waranty and no customer support. read more

I had a great experience with this company. I can not comment on installation quality as I installed it myself, but the quality of service and product was A+. I ordered a pallet of sod online and their website was very nice and easy to use. I later realized that the weather was not ideal on my scheduled delivery date, so I called and asked to have the date moved out and that was no problem. The lady I spoke to on the phone was helpful and moved the date out for me. The sod was delivered at 6am and was still very fresh - it was all bright green and still wet. It took me about 3 hours to install and now, 2 weeks later, it is still looking very healthy and has taken root. read more

I ordered Tifway 419 overseeded in March. We installed and the grass looked great. Summer came and I had two different grasses growing in (Tifway 419 and Midiron). I contacted Evergreen Turf and they were very responsive and came out and verified the mix up. They replaced my entire lawn, including labor, within a month of verifying. They've got a great product and do the right thing to take care of their customers. Would definitely use them again. read more

I ordered the Tifway 419 online (saved 10%), it showed up just after 6pm so I had to quickly get home and get it installed. I had prepared the sod by tilling the soil and adding fertilizer according to their website. I also set the timer per the website recommendation. After a day I had a few yellow spots where it looked like it was getting burned by the sun. Granted, it was over 100° when I installed the sod. I emailed ET and they responded very quickly with a suggestion on changing the timer intervals. Since the change, and somewhat lower temps, the yellow areas are greening up nicely. Overall I'm pretty satisfied so far. read more

I'm revising this review from 2 to 4 stars for two reasons: First, the owner contacted me and offered to refund the installation costs. That would normally be worth bumping up a couple stars, but they made the process frustrating to the point that I gave up on seeing a refund. Weeks later the check showed up. Communication, conducting follow-up and keeping promises (multiple promised calls back, not one followed through on) are major issues for this company. One star bump for the refund. A HUGE peeve is when companies make a public show of damage control. I see it all the time and it's insulting and annoying. Evergreen didn't do this, kept it private, made things right in a reasonable way and asked nothing in return. Worth an additional star. Original review: I ordered 2000 square feet of sod, plus installation from Evergreen. Their website reads: "A representative will contact you to schedule your installation if this option is selected. The installation fee will also be added to your total cost." They never called. I had to call them to make sure I was on the schedule. I was told that I was and that I would get a call when the delivery/install date got closer. Again, they never called. Sod was dropped Monday night. Tuesday mid morning, I called them again as my wife was at home waiting for installers to show up. That prompted the install Foreman to call me with a time estimate. Disorganized and unprofessional. The sod was fine, mostly. The installation was half-assed and they didn't even follow their own guidelines posted on their website. Their guidelines indicate the sod should be watered in, piece by piece, as the installation progresses. They didn't do this. Normally I would oversee this type of project to make sure things are getting done correctly, but I had meetings that day that I could not miss. Attached is a screenshot of my text conversation with my wife regarding watering and the install. They did a horrible job of laying the sod. Attached are pictures showing the HUGE gaps they left in between the pieces. The gaps required 8 cubic yards of soil from Home Depot and hours of work on my part. I don't pay $500 for installation only to have to follow behind the supposed professionals and fix their work with my time and money. If I were to do this again, I'd hire my own install crew. Because Evergreen delivers good sod, but their install is a joke. read more

Had my grass installed a few months ago and it was doing good. Then it started dying. Followed the instructions for care and even called Evergreen turf multiple times and they kept telling me I was over watering. How am I over watering when I'm following YOUR instructions??? Every time I would call they'd ask for my number and tell me they'll have someone else call me. Never happened! Then come to find out, they wanted me to call the grass installer instead. After trying to get a hold of the installer he tells us that he'll come out within the next 3 weeks. It's been 5 weeks and we still haven't heard a thing. My friend recently bought grass from Evergreen Turf and here's is all dying now too! I am very disappointed with how this company has handle this situation and I will continue to make sure friends, family, neighbors never use Evergreen Turf for grass!! read more

I've been trying to grow a lawn in Phoenix for about two years now. I've learned a lot in that time, and one of the things I learned was that, given how much shade my yard gets, I need something that is shade resistant. A ton of online research led me to the Palmetto variety of St. Augustine grass. The next trick was finding someone who had it available this late in the summer. I also had an issue because my lawn is quite small. It seemed overkill to get sod when I've got maybe 300 total square feet to cover. I wish I could remember the name of both of the folks I talked to. The first time I called, I got a bunch of great advice from the lady who took my order. I was looking for about 100 square feet. I decided that I wanted to completely sod my front yard (about 60 square feet) to make it look nice ASAP, but I was going to sod the back (about 200 square feet) in something of a checkerboard pattern to see if the grass would creep in to fill in the bare spots. At first, I figured I would borrow someone's truck to go pick up the sod, but the gal I spoke with mentioned it would be on a pallet. I placed my order, but after thinking on it a couple of days, I decided I really didn't want to move a pallet around. So I called them back to see if they could deliver instead. Now my experience with various companies tells me that making a change like that halfway through a transaction often leads to trouble, but they got the order spot on. The sod arrived exactly when they said it would, and it was in great shape. I did a ton of prep work so that everything would be ready to go when the sod arrived at 6:00 AM, so everything was completed within about two hours of delivery. It looks great. After about 3-4 days, there was some browning at the seems, but it has now been 3 weeks. Everything looks seemless up front, and as long as it stays that way, I will have considered this to be an outstanding investment. The backyard is a work in progress. Since I'm seeing no new shoots, I did some research on how to get the grass to spread as much as possible before dormancy sets in. Regardless of what happens in the back, though, this company deserves five stars. read more

We showed up to look at samples and a gentlemen explained how to lay and care for our sod. It was delivered on time nice and fresh. So I ordered 10,000 sq feet of Midiron sod from Evergreen with instructions that I needed delivery on the morning of 11/26/2019. I was told that the sod would be delivered between 6:00 to 6:30 AM on that day. I wake up at 4:00 AM to move some cars so that the yard guys will have plenty of room to get to the sod mix dirt that is being layed underneath the new sod. I go out, and what the hell ..... Evergreen delivered the sod in the middle of the night. Friggin Sod Santa dropped 10,000 square feet of sod in the middle of my 80 cubic yards of dirt. No phone call ..... no door bell ring .... just dump it and go. So I call Evergreen as soon as they open (8:00 AM), explain what happened, and I am informed by the snotty girl that answered the phone that delivery is between 6PM and 7AM. I informed her that was not what I was told, and asked why no phone contact or doorbell ring so I could instruct them where to put the sod, and she said "We don't do that!" This is the attitude you get from this company for spending over $7000.00. Be warned! Be Careful! And trust nothing that they tell you. read more

Bought Midiron sod and installed n April. The rye overseed was green and full. Once the rye started to dye it was a disaster. Now mid August and no amount of moving, fertilizer and water has helped. I have tuffs of Bermuda, weeds and areas of dead root bound rye. I will have to remove all the sod to even get seeds to grow. I have talked to Dwayne at the company multiple times and taken his advice which did not help. Do yourself a favor and use another company. read more

The sod came on time and in fact, a little early. Their pallets appear to be stacked in 500 sq ft increments. I ordered one and a half pallets worth. The full pallet was nice and green, laid nicely and kept it's color. The half pallet was the first to be laid and turned brown quickly. I suspect I may have received leftovers that had sat around for awhile. The main issue was the amount of insects that were crawling around. You could visibly see multiple in each piece. Also, the amount of crabgrass that has popped up is more than I would expect. read more

Came here to pick up sod we were told would be here in the morning. The gentleman that we spoke with said no problem it will be here. He never stated we needed to make a reservation in addition to us telling him that we would be there first thing in the morning. I drive an hour to get here. When I walked in this morning they said that that we never made a reservation and they sold the sod that they told us that they had for us because we did not make a reservation. We were never asked to make a reservation and we were specifically told that it would be here in the morning it would be "no problem". After speaking with the gentleman he now states we need to make a reservation two days in advance. Perhaps his own rules confused him. He also said since we only needed 200sqft he sold it. I understand it is a small quantity. That is why we called in advance. We made arrangements with no ambiguity telling him we would be here first thing in the morning when they opened. The implication of that statement implies a reservation made on my part. The definition of reservation is to keep back or set aside, esp for future use or contingency; withhold. I could not physically reserve the sod so that would require action on their part. Failing to understand that stating a time and quantity is in fact requesting a reservation. Telling me that said product would be her is an acknowledgment of a reservation. No customer service and they need to purchase a dictionary! I do not recommend doing business with these individuals. read more

This company is a fraud! They will ship you their old crappy stock and you will be left with ugly brown lawn for months! Company would not correct this and basically said, have you landscaper take care of it! Worst customer service by they manager Reece as he will not return phone calls and just points the finger to everyone other than the company...would never recommend to anyone!
