Thieves! Do not use this agency!! My boyfriend and I were searching for a spot. We found a place on Facebook marketplace. It was a listing from one of the agents of evergreen. Her name was Mindy. I scheduled a listing to which she canceled short notice then put me on to another agent the next day. He was very unprofessional cursing and barely explained anything in the apartment his name was Justin.The room was alright so I decided to just go with it. This was in The 2nd week in December and I had limited time. Long story short, I applied for the spot, putting down a 500 deposit and 2 applications using a guarantor which totaled to $200. One hundred each. I'm used to $75 or no fee so this was odd to me. Mindy asked for a 3rd application for my boyfriend. I told her he didn't want to be on the lease and he would barely be there. I didn't have to tell them he was going to be with me. Which a lot of people do. I only told them to avoid problems. They demanded and I refused. Mindy had an extreme attitude and was very rude.I know they just wanted extra money from me because those fees are non refundable. After a while I remembered once I put in my deposit I was told to put a random name down stating that was my agent. Which is very odd because I hadn't met this person. But I decided to contact her being that they claimed she was my real agent. The persons name was Alexis. So I got in contact with Alexis and asked her about my application and if I had to do an extra one for my boyfriend. She told me no that all I had too do was give her his ID and proof of income. I provided that ASAP. Here's when things get crazy. ALEXIS SPENT UNTIL THE END OF DECEMBER TO TELL ME I HAD TO DO ANOTHER APPLICATION. She said the landlord wanted it which I'm sure is a lie. I kept asking her before then about the status of my application and if it's approved. She kept telling me I will get approved and she's waiting on the other applicants. If she wanted an extra application she could of told me earlier.something told me these people will decline my application and take my money. I asked her if she was sure I would get accepted. I was extremely mad that she wouldn't tell me all this ahead of time when she knew my lease ended December 31st. It was about December 26th by now. She told me she wasn't sure. I tried to scare her and say I have another room lined up and I will take my deposit because they were wasting my time. She told me I can get my 500 back by requesting it. I contacted her later that night and told her I'll do another application and she told me THE LANDLORD GAVE MY ROOM THAT I PUT A DEPOSIT DOWN ON TO ANOTHER PERSON WITH A "BETTER DEAL". How can a room be shown and given to another person when a deposit is on it and applications are put on it without being declined??? After I was mad and asked why this was done and that I hadn't even taken my deposit back she didn't care. She said she didn't get the email where I said I wouldn't take the deposit. Which is a humongous lie.I said even if I said that I hadn't taken it back. It was only a few hours when I told her I would do the application and she told me the next day my room was given to another person. So there goes 200 I was planning on using for my move and I became extremely stressed and was almost put on the streets because my current place at the time had a new person moving in on the 1st! I asked Alexis if she had any other rooms available because I was desperate and needed a place ASAP. Till this day I never got a response! I was given the grace at my apartment to move out jan 2nd latest and I had to move out on that day after a 9 hour shift to a random apartment I put my last penny into because I had no choice, time or options. Till now I'm still recovering from this stress and recovering financially. EVERYONE MUST KNOW HOW CROOKED THESE PEOPLE ARE! THEY ARE THIEVES AND HEARTLESS! read more

First off I would like to say, my two roommates and I have never been happier with the apartment we shall be soon leasing. We partnered with Debbie and Leah after communicating to them about a brooklyn apartment we saw online and we were in love with. Debbie showed us the apartment first via FaceTime (how amazing) and then showed it to me the same day. Mind you we had contacted that same exact day so they were extremely responsive and efficient. We viewed the apartment, fell in love and started the application. It was my first time dealing with all this paper work and Leah was with me via text the entire way. Leah even was texting and answering my phone calls till midnight (yes way). We got in the deposit and patiently waited. A slight bump in the road occurred via landlord of the location which resulted in us having to wait a bit to move in. Knowing we had a time restraint the entire Evergreen team including a gentlemen by the name Max assured us they would look for a backup apartment incase it became time sensitive. Turns out they not only found us an even better apartment with ASAP move in but it accommodated all of our picky needs. If you are a picky client, and have certain needs this agency is excellent . Debbie is phenomenal and drove us around everywhere until we found the place we wanted and she was comical and personable. Words can't describe . This is my public apology to Gary Frenkel. Let me start by saying, he's not your average realtor. He's a fair guy with integrity and a brilliant heart for people. Somewhere on the internet (I can't find it to correct it) there's a review saying how awful my experience was dealing with him and Evergreen. I wasn't just plain wrong about Gary. I was dead wrong. Shame on me! I admit I wrote the post in a fit of anger and utter frustration after losing the apartment I'd set my heart on--but that's no excuse. I had assumed Gary didn't fight for me to get the apartment I loved, but today I learned the truth. Gary DID push for me. I learned he went more than the extra mile, I learned he tried several times to use all his influence with the landlord to get me that apartment. I learned that when he sent me a text the next day saying: "I'm beyond words for you, I did everything I could do to get you the place, I hope you can feel that. If there's anything I can do to help you in anyway I am here." It wasn't just talk; Gary meant every word! While showing me apartments he also gave me some brilliant advice; "If you see something you like don't wait, go for it!" So remember; the negative posts you read on yelp are most likely written by people like me, frustrated, stressed out, indecisive apartment hunters, with only half the story! read more

Being a NYC renter for a while now, I know how muddled and frustrating apartment hunting can be. The realtors are pushy, fickle and show falsified images with a bait and switch. My biggest qualm is when you express exactly what you want and are shown apartments that look nothing like your dream place and are pressured to move. I just moved to Brooklyn from Boston, which was my first ever out of state move. I had been apartment searching and driving down from Boston on every day off I had for a month straight with absolutely no luck prior to working with Alexis F. at Evergreen. Alexis was absolutely the best agent I've ever worked with throughout my search in New York AND in the almost 10 years I've been renting in Boston. My roommate and I had a FANTASTIC experience with Evergreen Realty. We were relocating to the city from out of town and had an appointment with Haley Sinopoli. Before we even got there she was quick to schedule a showing with us, prompt at the showing, and then was extremely attentive when listening to what we were looking for. She found options and showed us multiple apartments the next day completely short notice as we were only in town for the weekend. My roommates and I started looking for a new apartment last November and eventually found a couple of places we liked in early December. One was listed by Evergreen Realty and the agent was Tuli Green. We found the apartment on StreetEasy and contacted Tuli, who responded within a couple of hours... on a Sunday! He showed us the apartment that afternoon and was extremely attentive and able to answer all of our questions. Even after our time at the apartment, and unsure if we were going to apply, Tuli was still very accessible which my roommates and I really appreciated! Recently rented an apartment with Evergreen and everyone was very nice and helpful. Very friendly people that work there. The process was very easy. I was able to fill out the application form electronically. My roommates and I needed a 5 br apartment and we all had specific demands. The agent was very patient with us and he also had a lot of Knowledge about all the rentals properties that he showed us. I work late hours so I wasn't able to view apartments until about 8 or 9 at night and that was never a problem for him. Needless to say he found us the perfect apartment. Charles knows the BK area very well and is mindful of hi client's needs. He does his best to find out the information that you ask of him, and he will deliver. After a long time looking for apartments, Debby Rubin ended up showing us a wonderful apartment that met all of our needs, and she was extremely helpful in showing us other apartments just to make sure we were happy. From then on it was smooth sailing with our deposit, application, and guarantor application. We had a small issue with our app, and Debby even called to ask for supplemental information so that she could be sure to get us approved. Haley was so nice we used her twice, and will again. Haley is by far the best realty agent we've had. She doesn't hide any discrepancies in apartments, doesn't rush you to make a decision, is very accommodating with schedules and can cover quite a few apartment walkthroughs in a day.
