Trout Concrete - Pea gravel patio with a timber edge.

I can't say enough good things about Trout Concrete. I initially hired them to remove a poorly…read moreinstalled concrete patio, but after speaking with Joshua (the owner), I decided to go a step further and have a new pea gravel patio installed along with a step under the door. I also had some brick repairs done on my retaining wall and had the driveway seal coated. Every part of the project was done with care and precision. The work was impeccable--they even worked through Memorial Day to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. Joshua takes immense pride in his work and it shows. He thoughtfully assessed what needed to be done and consistently went above and beyond to ensure the results not only met, but exceeded my expectations. After a previous bad experience and almost being scammed by another so-called "contractor," I was understandably cautious. I asked a lot of questions--so many that I even annoyed myself! But Joshua answered each one with patience, professionalism, and kindness. His passion for his work is obvious, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing I was in good hands. If you're looking for a contractor who delivers high-quality results, values your satisfaction, and truly takes pride in their craft, look no further than Trout Concrete. Don't hesitate--they are prompt, thorough, and genuinely committed to doing the job right. I absolutely plan to work with Joshua and Trout Concrete again. Next up: repointing my steps and possibly creating a new path in the yard!

It was supposed to take 2 weeks. It took him 3 months. I would not recommend him. I don't think he's ready to start his business yet. The one loyal worker that worked with him. Martise was very nice. Josh was rude to him at times mortise work very hard. Josh would go off for hours saying that he was getting supplies and would come back. Hours later, only to sit down to get on his phone. Some of the work he did. I was happy with at first but towards the end, he got sloppy things that I asked them to do. He wanted to do his way, and that's what the customer wanted. I paid him a lot of money, never late when he asked for money, he said in his contract. He wanted the money when jot was completed. When he got money before the job was completed. And I'm still not happy. I tried to be patient with him. Knowing that things do come up things do happen, but he took advantage of my kindness. He left electrical wires exposed in the rain and told me that it would be okay, really. The amount of money that I paid him. I should have been satisfied. I think not.

Wertz & Co. Since 1926 - White flashing was installed that didn't match my neighbor's stuck out like a sore thumb.

Worst experience with a contractor/roofer. Three roof areas were done…read more Roofer tarped my landscape and smashed all of my plants. Roofer didn't magnet rake my yard. I went around with my own magnet see pictures. Cigarette butts everywhere. Initially, the flashing that touches my neighbors' house was white while my theirs were black. I assumed since they asked about the tile color being the same that they would do the same about the flashing. They did not. Also, they thought having a channel diverting water from my roof on to my neighbors rooves on the bottom of the flashing would be a good idea. The worst thing is the roofer screwed my skylight shut with flashing and screws. It took five tries for the supervisor to fix the flashing and the skylight problems. The skylight needed to be properly flashed and aligned so that it would close properly. Adding flashing around the skylight it wouldn't close properly. Took two visits to get it aligned right to close all the way. I was concerned the skylight was going to leak. The supervisor Tom assured me it wouldn't leak after the repairs from the first roofer. He also offered to replace the skylight if it was leaking no charge for labor. I appreciate the offer after all that has happened. I would have rather not had the aggravation though. One star off for the work the first roofer did. One star off for having to complain about the work for 5 times after. I like the front porch for the most part. The flat roof seems to be in good shape. Thank you. EDIT A COUPLE WEEKS LATER- So I found water and brown stains on my basement floor. Something was leaking. First thing I look at was under the sink. I find that one of the rubber couplings that hold the vinyl pipe to the vent going to the roof had slipped off and it was jammed back over the rubber piece not seated correctly as to cause the leak going to my basement. The only people who were close to that pipe were the roofers. The supervisor said he "doesn't see how we could have done that." If you pull hard enough on the vent from the top, things will happen. We've already established that the roofer was an idiot for screwing my skylight shut and leaving without cleaning up and the flashing. It's safe to say that this roofer popped the vent off the rubber and pushed it back in thinking nothing of it. I was sweating my ass off getting the rubber piece back in place properly. and now I have to redo the wall paint and trim in my basement. It's worth mentioning that Wertz was way cheaper than the other contractors I got quotes from, but is it really worth the aggravation? One star off for the water damage in my basement. EDIT: 12/06/2023 Installers for my bathroom remodel explained to me that the roofers (Wertz and Co.) Didn't install the exhaust vent properly. There is nothing to attach the flexible vent to on the roof. There was supposed to be some kind of extension into the house from that vent installed on the roof. I would give zero stars if I could. There is no way I trust them to even do any repairs for the warranty. I'm just waiting for this shit to leak. Now there's a brand new girl answering the phone from just a few months ago. I'm wondering if it's chaos over there.

Was told the glass seal was busted, needed new glass, & before we knew it we're waiting for 4 weeks and paying $800 dollars and still not so great fire. Wertz said the fireplace was a cheap builder grade and if we wanted better we'd have to spend $5K for a new fireplace. I was like no thank you and I adjusted my expectations - maybe the fire wasn't that bad after all. It's OK, the fire comes on with the flick of a switch and after about 45min it does look a little better. At least we have new glass. But Dad said never settle. Trust Dad. Also, trust Mike of CCI Fireplace LTD and don't call WERTZ & Co. Because though we got new glass I think we got taken for an expensive ride by the Wertz guys. Womp womp. The picture is what it looked like after the new glass and not much fire -- the AFTER was after spending only $165 more with CCI Fireplace LTD. He said it was all messed up. That it was an easy fix and the gas logs were covering up important gas vents & holes and it was messy inside. I'm guessing this is something Wertz (or anyone experienced) should have seen right away. More about that on his review! TLDR: Wertz isn't the worst but they're certainly not the best. And they're expensive and I think a little incompetent. Get estimates & call Mike at CCI. Trust Dad. Never settle.
