The cedar shake roof needed some repairs so I called a few contractors for estimates and met them at the house when I was home visiting my parents. Harry came over and we discussed what needed to be done for repairs and maintenance and he outbid the other contractors by a long shot. He showed me what they can do to repair the cedar shakes to make everything look newer and ready for the sale of the house. They gave it a good cleaning and put a coating of treatment on the roof to seal it which is a great selling point to new homebuyers - a roof is expensive so most homebuyers always inspect the roof and see how much time they have until a new one is needed. Harry and his crew did a great job. My parents were very happy when their house was sold within a month. We had a slight hiccup when we had left a car in the garage during the work, and after the crew left they didn't take the dumpster with them, which was blocking our garage door. Since we were needing to get the car out quickly, Tim and Jacob worked together to get someone back to get the dumpster in under an hour, which was super responsive for us. Before contacting Tradition, I received an estimate from one of "those" kind of roofing companies - You know the type, the ones that come by and leave a business card if your door and when you ask them to check out your roof they, of course, say you need and entirely new roof. When Scott Landa (who, in the interest of full disclosure, is the husband of a former coworker) came out to take a look at my roof he had an entirely different, and thankfully less expensive, opinion. After a quick repair, Scott was able to fix the area of my roof that I was concerned about. As he was leaving, I asked if I needed a new roof. Scott's answer was no. I not only appreciated Scott's professionalism, but also his honesty. I'm sure he would have loved to put an entirely new roof on my home, but it wasn't needed and he was able to accurately assess the situation and didn't rip me off.
