We talked to a few contractors, but Mark from Roncor was the first sales person who made us feel like someone could be as excited as we were to actually do the project. From the initial phases of designing the house with Tom and Mark and seeing what it might look like with their software, to the actual building of the house itself with Kevin and Will on the main build team and all the subcontractors they used, we were nothing but pleased. We knew exactly what we were getting and what it would cost, nothing was done without our OK, and for those few problems which arose they were dealt with immediately with Roncor accepting full responsibility for any difficulties. Everyone with whom we worked was wonderful, and obviously cared about our project. We now have a new kitchen, downstairs play area work room, master bedroom, master bathroom, guest/boys bathroom, and boys bedroom. Not a single room in our house was left untouched. And we love it all! At the end of the project, we asked the guys involved to sign the wall on the inside of our front closet because that's what artists do when they complete their work - they sign it. We cannot recommend them highly enough. If you want a hassle-free construction job well done, call these guys!

We met with them in the late summer of 2022, and were debating on whether not to have this done end of 2022 or first in the spring in 2023. We ended up going with spring of 2023, and were first on their priority list. While the project took longer than expected, and we had some set backs, we were still very happy with the communication. In full disclosure, we did have to have one side of the garage re-done due to some James Harding and a portion of the roof re-done (due to rushed contracting work), we still were really happy with the overall project. Would definitely recommend them again.

My friend had them build a garage in St Paul. She wanted me to look it over because she was having…read moreissues and was concerned about Sussel not doing the work properly. My first look inside I saw the concrete floor was not finished correctly. Know how the sidewalk or walkways you see everywhere outside? That's what they did inside. troweled crack control joints and the floor was not troweled flat at all. The lighting was done incorrectly and not according to plan. Not a single light was installed over the workbench but off to the other wall instead. the sheetrock wasn't hung in any timely matter at all. missing vapor barriers. She told me that they charged her $1500 for electric service connection which she later found out that $300 was what Excel charged Sussel. The subs Sussel uses must be getting shorted on pay for them to do such shoddy and incomplete work. Can't think of any other reason for them to not care about getting it done correctly. She said she has not been successful in getting them to fix anything and they sued her when she tried withholding the last payment. I really feel sorry for her getting taken by a company that really does shoddy work. I've read other reviews about Sussel and it really seems to be about which subs they use. My advice? Hire your own subs. Make sure everyone sticks to the blueprint.

The reason for putting 4 star review is because my estimate included job site clean up and I ended up disposing the gazebo packaging materials myself. There were some areas which required innovative ideas to resolve and he offered several creative solutions which worked out very well. I asked him to do some additional work such as hanging a curtain and suspending a picture from the ceiling and painting several additional rooms and he, without any hesitation, agreed to do the work. He is very careful and a perfectionist in his work and at the same time worked very fast. He always cleaned up any mess after a day's work so that the area was very clean. My neighbor has been working with Northrup on a project, and the experience has been entirely…read morenegative for the neighborhood. They have taken months to complete a small project. One contractor shows up every few days, parks illegally (well over a foot from the curb) then sets up a table saw across from his truck. Only one car can pass at a time, and he sets up like this every time he is here (which is nowhere near every day). I can't speak to the price or the quality of the work, but professionalism and speed are clearly not priorities for this company.
