No idea if they are still in business. Previous owners s had a flood control system installed and we have been unable to get in contact with them over the last year to have the system serviced. read more

This business is so bad and service is so bad. Appointments is hard to get and technicians who work there are not professional and will try to cut corners as possible. One time their technician was outside the appointment time and just left a note on our mailbox to reschedule. I even took time off from work. Go somewhere for this service.. read more

I had Ben come to the house to do a followup visit to replace some parts on the flood control system. He was professional and honest. He completed the job and left me feeling that the flood control system is in good working order! Thank you! read more

Eveready did a excellent job on installing the flood control system for our home. We had 3 different plumbers give us an estimate. They were the only plumber that said they could assist us with village reimbursement for cost of flood control system. Pat, the owner, called us to help us schedule this project ahead of our house closing. They took care of permits with village and followed up with inspectors. They were professional and took care of all of our questions and concerns. I would high recommend Eveready for flood control project. read more

We'd spent five years with a flood control system in our basement that amounted to a pit in the basement under the floor with a 10hp pump plugged into the wall. Since we're finishing the basement, we decided to invest in a flood control system. Thanks to the fact that our neighborhood sewer system dates back to 1896 (per the Alerdman's office), the flooding in our area is significant - we're right in between two branches of the Chicago river. Eveready came out, poked around, gave me an accurate estimate, and respected my timeline, since I was under the gun to get it done. The basement has been damp and musty for the six years we lived here. It's not damp anymore, and when everyone else on the block floods, our Eveready pump in the front yard sends all the excess water right back out. The office staff is competent and friendly, and the workmen don't waste time. Highly recommended. read more

We recently moved into a house that has an Eveready flood control system in the front yard. Had them out to check the system and they were fantastic. The owner himself (Pat) came with an apprentice and they did an amazingly thorough cleaning of the trap, full inspection and walked me through the control panel/fuse box in my garage so I know how to understand when it's working and how to test it. Gave me recommendations on some maintenance (the system is from 1973 and hasn't been checked in over 15 hours, the last time the previous owners called them) and while they stressed the importance of replacing some pieces they didn't give a ridiculous false sense of impending doom that some servicemen give. They also took the time to check my sump pump and ensure I understood how it worked, not to mention checking the drain in my garage, which happens to be broken. I'll definitely be working with his company for all my flood control needs. read more

If I could vote "0" stars for Everyready Flood Control, I would. The company is taking advantage of their customers. They took advantage of me. I wanted to have our Flood Control serviced. I spoke to a representative on the phone and she said it was $130 for our Flood Control to be serviced. I agreed and scheduled a day and time. When the service professional arrived, he spent a little over 30 minutes. During our conversation, I asked him it must be difficult to work when it the weather is so cold. He said that it helps that he can charge clients with "service charges" and that is what helps with his paychecks. After finishing the maintenance, he hands me a bill for $361. I said I was quoted $130. He said that is the amount. He also said he would have to come back to put in a new switch. I called the company the next day and the representative said that the amount of $130 was what she quoted. She put me on hold and when she returned said that the new switch would cost $125. I scheduled a new time and when the same serviceman arrived on the next appointment, he swapped out the switch and apologized. What kind of company is this? Don't fall for their "Service Charges." They are taking advantage of customers. I would not recommend them to any of my neighbors. read more

I paid these guys ten thousand dollars to install a sump pump and anti-backup system under my front lawn. Since then, I've had them return to rod out the sewer line pretty regularly. The pump only lasted a few years, then stopped working. When I called them to come and look at it, they said it was burned out and blamed me for not having maintenance done on it. (It's a pump, what kind of maintenance does it need?) They quoted me $650 to replace the pump. They cut the outlet plug off the end of the electrical line and hardwire it in so you cannot easily replace it yourself. When I inspected the unit myself I found the electrical lines all rusted and corroded. Since that, all needed to be replced anyway I installed an electrical outlet and replaced the pump myself for $350. Last summer I had one of their guys come out when we had a sewer line clog next to the house from tree roots, and we started having water from the sewer line back up in the basement during a rainstorm. He busted his snake trying to rod out to the street. So, after he fixed it he decided to try removing the clog beside the house. He unclogged the line but that caused all the water in the backyard basin to flood the well on the front lawn with three feet of water. He said this was caused by the second clog in the sewer line under the street. He was able to punch through the second clog but must have done so by jamming his equipment into the pipe through the standing water. When he left he gave me a bill for $100 more than I was quoted because of his extra time spent here, but he told me he checked the entire backup system and everything looked and was working fine. Yesterday I had them back out to do the normal sewer line maintenance for tree roots. The same guy from last year showed up. When he opened up the well and the sewer line he told me the entire backup system was no good & now had broken and missing parts. He even tried to innocently ask me, "Who's been in here?" I told him he was the last person that had touched it when he was here last summer. He sluffed it off and told me it would now cost me $650 to fix it. ($650 seems to be the only number these clowns know.) I told him to just rod out the line and leave. I have now filed a case with the BBB. These clowns pushed me too far this time. read more

Should be 0 stars!!! DO NOT use this company! Had a claim against them with bbb years ago. They will steal your money. I used Xpert flood control and they were great and they still do maintenance every year. read more

After a recommendation from a friend, I hired Eveready to put a flood control system on my property last month. Pat (the owner) explained the entire process to me from the estimate to what to expect from city inspectors and countless other things. Whenever there was a change in schedule, Pat kept me informed and communicated with professionalism. I appreciate his patience, attention to detail and the quality of the work performed by him and his employee Ben. Great job. read more

The owner of this company Pat Regan is nothing more than a con artist. He and his so called company were contracted in May 2017 to replace a water main for a water retention area in Elgin, IL. This job which should have had a 3 to 4 week completion time, it drug on for over 2 years due to the inept and shoddy work when they actually did work of this company and as of august 2019 was not completed. Even after filing a complaint with the Illinois states attorney. Left with no other recourse we started to bring a lawsuit against this company, our attorney informed us that Mr. Regan had shutdown the company as of june19th 2019. The attorney also stipulated he had done this before to apparently avoid being sued. This is the last company you would ever want to use to do any work for you. This company should not even get one star, if I could give negative stars it would be minus ten.You have to rate it to submit a review. read more

I am thrilled to say that my basement hasnt flooded since we have installed an Eveready Flood Control system over a year ago! We have had multiple plumbers and companies that have claimed to be able to keep our basement dry however they all misrepresented their abilities and overcharged for zero results! Finally, I was referred to Eveready and it was a great experience! Besides being professional, honest and prompt, their service surpassed all of the rest!! The technicians were knowledgeable to the many products that Eveready manufactures and installs. As far as with their work, we were given a written estimate and written warranty of all work performed. They also filed permits with our city and scheduled all necessary inspections. Overall, I would like to give Eveready an A+ excellent rating for a solid company! Highly recommended! You wont be disappointed! read more

Our building had a flood control system installed due to flooding of the garden unit whenever there was a significant amount of rain and the sewers on the streets couldn't take it away fast enough. Eveready was great about coming out for an estimate, installation (once we got a date) went smooth and all was great until it came time to restore our front yard. Replacing the dirt and plants would not happen until Spring, we had our install during the Winter. This is what Eveready refers to as 'restoration'. After making several calls over the last 4 months, we still have not received a phone call or a restoration done to our front yard. Instead of leaving a big sink hole in front of our building, we purchased dirt and filled it back in ourselves. Something that we already paid for as part of our installation. I called Eveready today and spoke to a woman. She was very kind and apologized for what has happened. However, that was all. If you plan to use this company for a flood control system, better make sure that you get a restoration date in writing. Or at least plan on doing it yourself. Extremely poor customer service is how I am basing my review. They take your full payment, but do not give you full service. Based on my experience with something as small as my restoration, I'm afraid what it's going to be like if it ever needs service. read more

DO NOT USE THEM!!! Had my flood control installed in December 2013. They left a muddy mess and I had to ask them to hose down the sidewalks before they left. Mind you, the city was supposed to inspect the final job for it to be considered complete. Eveready met with the city inspector for the final walk thru in April 2015! At this time, Eveready discovered my pump was broken and replaced it. When it still didnt work, they found out two wires had been crossed in the electric box they installed, which made the pump run continuously, which is why it blew out. So basically I had no flood control for over a year! My lawn is a big mess - they were supposed to come back to restore the hole as it was built up too high, and also to re-seed as it didnt take. I have called 3 times to leave a message for Pat, the owner, to call me. I want my 3 year warranty to start from the date of the final inspection and not the install date, since it was not operating anyway. Not one call received back since 4/10/15. Today, the number goes right into a busy signal. BTW - My next door neighbor used Parks Flood Control - they come out in uniforms using their own logo"d truck and replace the hole with sod - not seed. Can't even tell they were there. And - Eveready basically closes for the winter so good luck getting in touch with them if there is a problem. The owner supposedly returns calls but I am guessing that is why the city inspector told me he finally had to put the request in writing in come out and inspect my flood control system. No one returned his calls either. I was told by Kathy in the office, there were two of us who slipped thru the cracks on the inspection. Two too many for me!! Run away!!! I will try and post a picture too. read more

Really don't know how to rate this; but this is what happened to me. I got a flood control unit that has been serviced about 10 years by Eveready; however at the beginning of August my wife reminded me to give them a call because it should be serviced and for the sewer line to be rodded, just in case. Long Story short; one of their plumbers showed up to get the sewer line rodded and the Flood Control Unit serviced. First thing he said was, "I will not be able to do the sewer line today because my line broke off on my last call, but I can service the flood control unit for you today (?)...so you would have to call the office and set up an appointment to clean the sewer line"... so I agreed. The Plumber replaced (the main valve assembly $245.00/checked valve $125.00) and he recommended the sewer line to be rodded. Date 8/11/16 $98.50 Service Charge + $370.00 (other charges)...total $468.50. So I called back to set up an appointment to get my sewer line roses...a trainer and a trainee showed up...THE TRAINEE says to me that my Flood Control Unit is burnt and that to replace it the prize would be $586.00; so I told him to just rod the sewer line and I would call them back after I talk it over with my wife (mind you, the trainee unplugged my Unit and told me not to use it because is burnt) Date 9/16/16 $225.99 for ridding the sewer line...I was very suspicious about this situation ...so I called the office to question why was my Unit fine and then 4 weeks later Supposedly is burnt(???)...the lady that answered the phone was all over the place with her explanation...she stated"you know when I saw your paperwork I questioned it myself so don't worry about it...it should be fine" I asked if it was safe to plug it and turn it on again, because is been unplugged all weekend; and she stated..."oh yes by all means please do; protect your home"...really? They were all very polite and nice to me, but it was so obvious they were trying to get an approximate amount of $1200.00. I don't see them servicing my Unit again just because it was all iffy to me!!! Can't trust them anymore:( read more

This is going to be long because I've got a lot to say about this business. I absolutely love them! Have you ever heard a business say they'll treat you like family? Well that's not Eveready Flood Control's motto; however, it definitely should be! I was really distraught when my basement began flooding in an old house I purchased. On the top of my flood control box I found a considerably aged leaflet. I recognized the name from what I thought were advertisements coming to the house. This was the original system that was put in the house some 45 to 50 years ago. They were STILL sending check up and maintenance reminders! Imagine that after all those years?! When I called, they were some of the nicest people you could do business with; the person I spoke to was even consoling when I explained the amount of damage that had occurred. She made me feel as though everything would be taken care of and I wouldn't have a thing to worry about again. They came out for a consultation, explained very thoroughly what had gone wrong, what needed to happen and got started right away. Although they had to dig a very huge hole in my front yard, you wouldn't even know it if you saw my lawn today. In fact that part looks better that the rest of my lawn! This is an excellent business with top notch service and a very warm staff! Give them a try and fall in love! I know what this may sound like, but I'm a real customer. I swear it!!! read more

Check out the better business bureau before hiring this company! They have an F rating - we wish we had known that before hiring them. They took our deposit and we never got the flood control system. Terrible! Ended up hiring XPert Flood control and have been very happy. XPert has A+ rating at BBB. Wish we'd done our homework - it was a very costly mistake! read more

I will say that their mitigation services are top notch. We had water damage and they came right out to dry everything out. That's the good part. It took them over two months to do the repairs to get the place back in order. Find someone else to get your place back in order or expect a very long wait. I have talked to neighbors that also had water damages to their house and they are all back in order weeks before me. read more

STEER CLEAR- BBB "F" Rating and LISA MADIGAN FILED SUIT against them for DEFRAUDING HOMEOWNERS... We didn't find this out until after giving them $1000 deposit. They claim they sent a refund check but it never came. We sent them a letter and it came back "undeliverable". Then they stopped returning calls. Then they went to the police department and claimed we were harrassing and threatening them. WHAT????? These people scammed others as per the BBB/Goverment Action, and they think 4 or 5 unreturned phone calls a day is too many calls to get our money back??? Steer clear. No reason to risk your hard earned money when there are many more reputable flood control companies out there (and less expensive too). Very unprofessional also. If Pat Regan comes to your door... Slam it Shut. READ THE BBB Reviews!!!!! I wonder if they wrote the positive Yelp reviews themselves because after reading BBB, I find it hard to believe there are happy customers out there. read more

Horrible experience for me. The contract with Eveready was signed and check deposited in October 2015. Work finally started in January 2016 and was never completed. While digging the hole, Eveready crushed the water line. They had to stop the project and patch the damage. I was told it would cost an additional $4000 to replace the water line. Eveready tried to force my warranty company to fix the problem he caused. The Village, Warranty Company and the third party flood control company all agreed Pat Regan was at fault and should pay for the damage he caused. He refused leaving a huge hole in my yard for 5 months. The Village told me Pat Regan called them and admitted he crushed the water line. After going back and forth with Pat Regan for 5 months with no success, I had no choice but to hire another company. At this point I had already paid Eveready $4500 which they refused to give back. The new company, Aqua Flow, worked with my budget. Upon the bad experience and the advice of many, I decided I wasn't going to use Eveready to implement the Flood Control System even after repairing the water line. Aqua Flow was very nice and gave me a discount for fixing the problems Pat Regan caused and implementing a flood control system. Aqua Flow discovered that Eveready crushed the sewer line too. Yet Eveready charged me $4500 for digging a hole and crushing the water and sewer lines. Eveready left my yard and home exposed during the Winter months. Neighbors were complaining about the big hole in my yard. Children or animals could have easily fallen into it. Eveready made a million excuses and placed blame on everybody but themselves. They were proven wrong and incorrect. They tried to justify keeping my $4500 by adding and inflating charges. Very disappointed with performance of Eveready Flood Control & Patrick Regan. This was the worse business decision I have ever made. read more
