I had never heard of Drewia Hill but on the first visit, I was hooked. The owner Kris met with us and we hit it off immediately. It helps that her husband is in the same business that I'm in so we had some common interests and knew some of the same people. Kris is also a huge patriot and lover of America and with me being in the Navy it gave us even more in common. The Barn is beautiful and is set on several acres of land. There is plenty of room to have the ceremony inside if the weather turns bad but there is also a lovely area outside to have the ceremony and the barn makes for a beautiful reception area. Kris also did the catering for our wedding and the food was wonderful and reasonably priced. While the venue is beautiful, no amount of beauty can take the place of the great customer service we received. Kris became a friend and wasn't just the owner of a place we rented. She took control on our wedding day and allowed us to relax and enjoy our day. Now, the bad. Whoever does the lights and the pre-show music needs some serious training. The music before and during the shows sounded like a combination of Peruvian flutes, windchimes, discordant jazz, and whales mating. It was wretched. We were there to see two bluegrass bands, and this was not an appropriate warm-up. But it was the show lights that nearly did me in. I don't have epilepsy, but if I did, I certainly would've had a seizure by the constantly roving, circling, glaring lights that shined directly in my eyes during nearly every song. This was not The Who at Wembley Stadium. This is a very small, intimate venue that doesn't need such distractions. Unless it's a band or musician I absolutely must see, I doubt I'll be back.
