Very clean, well organized facility. There were 4 large restrooms for guests. Lots of nice tables and chairs with linens available. The owner wasn't around much, but seemed nice and accommodating when he was. The Cons: The venue manager seemed grumpy, never smiled, and was quick to say no to every request. She just seemed unhappy to be there. When asked if the flower girl could throw bird seed, she wouldn't allow it because "the next wedding party wouldn't appreciate having bird seed on the ground for their wedding." There were flower petals on the ground from a previous event that we didn't request, but no one considered that for our wedding. She must have been required to stay there the whole time, much of which was spent on her phone. There were a couple of times we had to wait quite a while to ask her a question. Certainly we understood every request may not be able to be met, but there are ways of telling people no that don't have to be rude or unfriendly. It seemed their venue manager may need more training in how to work with people, especially people who are there to enjoy a special life event and have chosen your venue to do so. She definitely needs to learn to smile when greeting people. That would go a long way. We asked to set up two hours earlier than normal and were charged $300 for the privilege, which we paid, but thought that was a steep price. The paid bartenders refused to serve non alcoholic drinks i.e. sodas, water unless it was in a mixed drink. When it was suggested to the manager that putting a tip jar out was inappropriate because we didn't want our guest to feel the need to pay for anything and just be able to enjoy the evening, she just shrugged her shoulders. The tip jar remained. Last call for the bar was made one hour before closing when it was supposed to be 30 minutes prior. Another concern was that we were told if anyone drove and felt they needed to uber home due to overindulging in alcohol, they wouldn't be allowed to leave a car there overnight. I really raised an eyebrow to this one. Being forced to drive when you needed to call for an uber is a lawsuit waiting to happen. So to sum it up, fabulous venue, with a manager in need of some people skills.

They make each drink order, one at a time, on the counter. And it is the perfect balance of creamy, sweet, chocolate deliciousness with whipped cream on top! My friend was quite happy with his plain hot cocoa too. We felt cozy drinkin our hot cocoa on the velvet couch. This was the right stop for this dreary day.

Other than that, the room was nice, had big windows with a beautiful view, the landscaping was so cute, and there was a Keurig in the hallway for guests to make a cup of complimentary coffee. We understand if weather messes up the expectation of a wedding, but what we will never understand is how unprepared the venue was when it came to backup power. Lookout valley is notorious for having power outages, and to tell a wedding party you have no action plan when the power goes out, no backup generator, and that it may be the NEXT DAY until power is returned is 100% avoidable and not to mention extremely unprofessional for an EVENT VENUE. We were told by the owner of the venue that the power outage was "an act of God". This statement was so unprofessional, as the power outage was 100% avoidable if you have a backup generator. The owner did not take any responsibility for their lack of action plan for this scenario. Also, it did not even storm at the venue. If it weren't for my father leaving and going to buy a generator to be able to have our reception, it wouldn't have happened. Your staff was hiding from me and my wedding party - at one point we found the main venue staff woman crying in a closet to escape us...how rude to treat us that way. We also paid you to rent all 5 villa rooms. When we were told the power could be out until tomorrow, your staff did not offer any assistance for those of us staying in the villa. Thank god the power returned around 8:30pm that evening or else we would've had to rent a hotel. The venue villa rooms also did not have any hot water so all of our showers were cold all weekend. The staff was of absolutely no help when shit hit the fan, and I am just in shock at what I saw. At one point, we were going to have to move the reception inside not due to rain, but due to not having lighting outside, and your staff told me they "wouldn't charge me a flip fee" for it. I could not believe they were acting like they were doing me a favor by not charging me a flip fee. If I am being honest, we should've gotten a partial refund. We almost didn't have dinner due to no power in the kitchen. My amazing caterer drove back to her kitchen to cook our food and return. THAT is the type of above and beyond service I expected from our vendors. DO NOT BOOK VENUE.

But really, it was Matt Barrett that we fell in love with too. From day one he was warm, and kind and responsive. He was there throughout the entire process, literally from day one through the wedding day, just checking in, answering a million questions (and I'm not even kidding), and making sure things were getting done. I was planning the wedding long distance, and he and Amanda made it a breeze. That's saying a lot from someone who's a semi-OCD control-freak :D I truly could not have hoped for a better wedding. Amanda literally took the dreams in my head and made them come to life in our round arch, our table arrangements, and everything in between. The flowers were just to-die for, and they truly set the scene. I've heard over and over again from guests how beautiful everything was, and I know they meant it, because it was! Amanda has an incredible talent, and I'm so glad she used it on my wedding. Jasa and her team knocked it out of the park with the food. I heard from so many guests how delicious everything was, even from our more picky guests. The serving process was smooth, and everyone enjoyed their meal - that's a huge win in my book! Not only did they put up with a high strung bride that's a project manager by trade and answer all of my zillions of questions, they gave us a day that we'll never forget.
