Spent $155 for the ultimate experience to celebrate my partners birthday. The lounges were incredible, the movie was great, the service was impeccable, the cocktails were delicious and the food was amazing .... then I went to the bathroom. The sight and smell that greeted me after lining up for ten minutes to use three cubicles was putrid. I would expect more after such extravagance. This is not McDonald's. This is not after one hour of use. I'm really disappointed actually.

Perfect drinks to keep you buzzing haha

Came To Australia in 1990 and i remember the first movie i watched here with my Dad was Hook with the talented Robin Williams :D!! I remembered thinking the cinema was like a casino with all the lights and how big the place was :)!! Still to this day i love watching movies here, whether I'm in Gold Class, V max or just the normal Screen :)!! Tuesdays are a great day to watch a movie at any cinema naturally but even if the tickets were double the price i would still watch a movie here cause of the memory :)!! All the rooms I've been in have been clean & tidy & have always been super comfortable to watch whatever movie :). I never really opt for buying anything from the candy bar though haha especially when you got the convenient store just outside or the Woolies 5 mins walk away :D!! It's also really cool to pass the time at the Game Arcade or get a bite to eat at any of the cool places close by :D All in all this is my all time favourite and easy to get to cinema in the city :D!!

Event cinema George street is the flagship of the Event cinema brand. 1,000's of people go through this cinema daily. That doesn't make it automatically good though. The cinema itself has lots of good food spots close by which is a major plus when you consider that 90% of date nights involve dinner and drinks. This is the largest of the Events I have been to and has got a whole lot of screens so very easy to find the movie you want at a time that suits you. Facilities here are kept in good condition. Never had an issues with uncleanliness, candy bar is large, they got a bar, offer a nice Gold Class lounge area when your in need of a treat. Staff are friendly. Had some problems with a screening before and the manager sorted me out with free tickets after which was great. They got two V Max screens with very comfy seats and Dolby Surround sound. A lot of the movie premiers are held here. I walked past Katy Perry once here. The lineup for tickets can be insane here sometimes during evening times so be prepared to wait because they usually don't have a lot of staff on the desks. Otherwise good spot to view some of cinemas future greats and duds in great comfort.

Godzilla, This movie reminds me an old japanese old movie when I'm growing up. Average story line, and graphic also not mind blowing

Well, it seems like the Sydney CBD now has a cinema complex so I don't have to go all the way out to Bondi Junction if I want to watch a movie when I'm over here. Okay, it's probably been around for a while, but I can still remember when I was in Sydney that there was basically nothing here and, as I've suggested, having to travel out to Bondi Junction (not that the cinemas at Bondi junction are all that bad, just time consuming to get to). The Cinemas are actually tucked away out the back, so you have to walk past numerous shops to get there. Also, most times I've been here the lines at the ticket office were pretty long, so you need to give yourself plenty of time. However, I did like the underground cinemas (not that you can tell when you're in the Cinema).

Tickets and candy bars are a bit expensive, however it's time for enjoyment. Visited on Wednesday night, not crowded. Seats are comfy and clean.

Event Cinemas is my idea of hell. LOTS of people desperate to see a movie I'll inevitably find dumb and shallow, expensive and popular with Sydney's teenagers. But then, not everyone is such a faux intellectual/snob, and it's definitely got it for some people. Every big Hollywood film is on show there, and any kind of cinematic event Sydney would have happens there - I once saw Russel Brand out the front promoting Get him to the Greek! It's a HUGE, Americanised version of going to the movies - big screens, big chairs, 3D and all the extras you would want (or not want). But be warned - it's pricey! At over $15 a pop, a student ticket doesn't come cheap. Neither does the food, or the exorbinant parking. Definitely a fun night out for some, the worst date in the world for others.

I tend to avoid Event Cinemas unless they're showing some blockbuster that I'm desperate to see, for the same reason I avoid Starbucks- I'd much rather support the smaller, independent cinemas showing quality or arthouse movies. Event megaplexes are kind of like the Aldi of cinemas but without passing on the savings that come with screening in 800 seat theatres. However, I do end up there every few months and the complex is always pretty clean and well maintained, the candy bar well stocked and I've been a lot happier there since the introduction of the Cine Bar to get a passable coffee & a glass of wine before a film. Best avoided on tight-arse Tuesdays, unless of course queuing behind 70 excited teenagers is your "thing".

The main drawback is that they are often on very early Sunday morning but the pluses outweigh that drawback. There are also free bickkies, tea, coffee, popcorn, soft drinks and water. Hmmm... ingredients for crinked neck and sore brain. Lucky I booked my ticket in advance. So, yes! Star Wars was showing and I thought it was worth seeing again on the super mega big screen on my trip to Sydney. Tickets are pretty costly and so is the food. But most cinemas are costly and yeah it is big. But, I just don't know how I feel about spending $70 for two people to go to the cinema. But, it's Star Wars... I did notice a couple of things about this cinema. Not sure who they have hired to do the cleaning? They should probably do some performance management on them; there seemed to be mountains of cups and popcorn behind the chairs. Also, floor seemed to like my shoes a lot and were pulling them from my feet. When watching this gigantic screen I notice that there was a thin line on the left hand side of the screen? I thought this was digital? Also, depending on your angle, it seems to have a little darker haze. You kind of need to be in the middle and high. Well, best thing about was the exercise climbing those stairs. I worked off the costly popcorn I consumed for sure! Look, Imax is what you would expect. It's a big screen that you watch things on when you decide there is a movie worthy enough.

Even though we had just travelled about 24 hours, we decided a movie would be a nice way to kill said time. I thought it would be a nice nap time but the movie was interesting and none of us slept. This theater is odd but interesting. You buy tickets at the concession stand. I wish I had tried the popcorn but I assumed I might not be awake so eating was out. The theaters are spread around the floor in different pockets of the area, so it's more like walking to a different shop. Even though it was a matinee, we were told it was mostly sold out and that we'd have to sit in the second row. This worried me but the person selling the tickets said it's where they prefer to sit and, again, I assumed I'd sleep so we agreed. We sat in theater 11 and lone behold, it wasn't going to be a problem because the screen is far away and there's a good amount of space between the front row and the screen. The other unique thing about this room was there was a large window. I've never seen this in a movie theater before and it was cool. Don't worry, the drapes, once closed, were nice and thick and let no light in. The seats were comfy and did manually recline. I only like to recline if there's a leg rest though so I didn't do that.
