If you come early they give away free coupons for ice cream and miscellaneous things from the sponsors. Food and drinks came out quick and from where you are they'll bring you your food. The weather was gorgeous when I went and I even caught the sunset. When I come back to Sidney I'll for sure try and catch this again. Definitely worth the go if you're here at the right part of the year to catch it!

With the Sydney Harbour as the backdrop, the screen rising up out of the water, THIS is what you want in an outdoor cinema. It's electric, its majestic, its Sydney in all is glory. The film schedule is released early December and presales (for St George banking customers) commence then. You'll want at least 1 person in your crew to be a customer to get a hold of these tickets on day 1 of presales otherwise, you may miss out .. and you just don't want that disappointment in your life. When you arrive on the night, make sure you get there before 6pm to line up cause you'll want to be one of the first few hundred through the gates to reserve some good seats - do not fret though, there are 2000 seats available for everyones viewing pleasure. Reserve your seats, find a table and start the pre-show drinks and feed. The food and drink here is of exceptional quality - it seems every year it just gets a little more fancy than previous years. I still get chills when the screen starts to lift and that soundtrack comes on signalling the start of the movie !! Just get here.

I don't think they are really doing much wrong, but for me it's just not the best experience I've ever had. I've been four times, all of them cold nights with three of them REALLY cold and even rainy. I'm talking bust the winter gear out of storage cold. Last night it was slightly warmer and REALLY packed. We saw Argo (which was amazing by the way) and unfortunatley due to the popular demand, they sold out of the back rest chairs 40 minutes before the movie started. The last two times I've been I felt the sound wasn't loud enough. A friend and I were saying how we both feel we need to watch Argo again because we missed a lot of the dialouge. Also, because it was so quiet at times, the fans that blow air into the screen were actually louder than the movie, impairing our ability to hear. The food stand staff yapping right behind us didn't help matters. On the topic of food, while it is overpriced (that's a given at any cinema) I like the fact that you can order Crust pizza and overall it's not any pricier than any other cinema. I still recommend just bringing your own food. It's cheaper and more enjoyable. With all that said, they do have a good selection of movies each year and if you go on a nice evening and have a picnic, I'm sure you'll have a lovely time. Make a night of it. Don't just go for the movie (like I did the last two times) or you will surely be dissapointed. To me it's just a more expensive, less comfortable way of watching a film and the picnic is the only thing that makes is special. Just don't forget your jackets, even if you think you won't need them.

It's an outdoor venue so there's much more outside noise to deal with. This is the 2nd time I've been where I feel like I've missed dialogue because I couldn't actually hear the speakers. Other than that it's great. Some tips: bring your own food - the food for sale is overpriced and it's much more fun to bring your own, get there early or reserve a chair ahead of time & BRING WARM CLOTHES. Unless its one of the rare Sydney nights that stay ridiculously hot, you will get cold!

After seeing people driving past we attempt again. Get let in and get parked in a waiting lot. Instead of checking tickets and parking cars in groups of what movie they are going to see, it's a giant free for all. Cars driving everywhere. No traffic control. No one gives way. Eventually get in and park. Off for dinner. DISGUSTING. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. My husband and I are both extremely sick from eating the overpriced garbage they pass off as food. Before the movie started they announced ticket checks as people had snuck into the wrong movie, as it was sold out. Gate control and ticket checks earlier would fix this. All in all a huge waste of money. People left their cars on and chain smoked the entire time. Wish I could get a refund and my time back. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY PEOPLE

That being said, there is something magnificent about going back in time and experiencing things from another era. Throw that in with our amazing western Sydney community and you are in for a treat! The comfort level is up to you. As a kid I remember we used to drive here in our 1986 Mitsubishi Star Wagon, all the seats would fold down which meant we could fit in a single bed mattress. We'd bring our pillows & blankets, open the boot of the car and fit all 5 kids lying down single file across the back. I have seen people bring camping chairs, two seater sofas on the back of their utes, camping tents and cars with really really really dark tint which makes no sense cause how can they possibly watch the movie!? Anyways, you really do need to be comfortable because you will get two movies for the price of one [unless stated otherwise]. $15.50 for an adult, $12.50 students/pensioners, $12 for members & $11.50 for kids. BYO snacks & drinks is a bonus. A word of warning for those who dislike smoking. If you have your doors open and/or windows down you will get that unpleasant smell. As the only drive-in in Sydney, there is not much to compare it to however, it is a great novelty and definitely one to experience. I would highly recommend it to anyone

The small complex is great if you want to avoid the big, noisy crowds at your local Events or Hoyts. However, the usual queue on a Friday night will be sure to be there, so make sure you get in quick. Like mega cinema chains, Cronulla Cinemas offers the best movie experience; a great variety of the newest upcoming flicks to choose from, and an even greater variety of snacks and bites to get your stomach through to the end. But there is one exception that makes Cronulla Cinema different from the rest, and that's the prices. And for all those 'ezi video' lovers out there who avoid cinema's and their outrageous ticket pricing, stress no more. Their weekly Tuesday special (excluding 3D movies) are $10 movie prices for everyone. For a major plus, to all the mums that are dreading that painful "Can we go in yet?" the arcade games will be sure to keep the kids busy before the movie begins. And that isn't just for the little kids either, some 'old school' Mario Kart is sure to keep us bigger kids satisfied also. So whether you'll be cheering for Jacob or Edward at the latest Twilight showing (highly doubtful), or reliving your life as a spy through crazy, actions flicks, be sure to check out Cronulla Cinemas as your next movie destination.

Going to the cinema is so expensive these days and many of my local cinemas are just refusing to upgrade/revamp/clean- whatever you want to call it- and it is becoming one big giant rip-off! Cronulla cinemas has a wonderful art deco type foyer and is a notch above other cinemas, but it really has gone downhill.
