This was an amazingly wonderful stay. Upon arrival we did see the access road but it only took a…read moremoment to a moment to navigate it in the dark. The parking lot was a good size and had plenty of space available. The front desk clerk was tremendously personable and was very sweet. The room was clean and spacious enough for all our needs. We appreciate the quiet hallway and the insulation that made the room easy to sleep in. The bed was very comfortable and allowed for a restful night sleep. There are plenty of outlets in the room. The only thing I will recomed for travelers is to carry a nightlight to put in the bathroom. It makes a difference to keep the room darker but also allow you to see and not get blinded by the bathroom light at night. This also limits how much you disturb others in the room. We carry 2 nightlight with us I just in case.

My first impression as I went to turn on my bright lights is why am I driving into some dark scary driveway? Marriott needs to invest in some lights and a sign at the start of the road entrance so you don't second guess your GPS. Anyway, once I finally got to the end of the dark windy driveway I saw the beautifully lit hotel. The lobby was recently redone and was very nice and modern. I had high hopes for my king suite. However, the room layout is very odd. Right when you walk in you see a couch & chair with a TV and then you have to walk through a doorway and there is the bed with a 32 inch TV. Seriously...the TV is tiny...who picked such a small TV? Anyway after my TV shock I noticed the curtains are really nice they look like they could belong in a castle. The pantings were rustic and even though they put in new carpet I couldn't get over the odd room size/decor and tiny TV. It felt like 2 different designs couldn't agree to the overall design and the modern designer lost out to the old school design. Modern Designer: Bed frame and lamps Carpet Desk Chair Old School: Yellow curtains 32 Inch TV Rustic Paintings Odd layout Closet Door They have a nice breakfast selection with the usual gym and pool with a nice whirlpool hot tub. However, the snack bar in the lobby could use a revamp as options are very limited. Will I be back? Yes, but only due to awesome service ...and of course I would want to know have the TVs been upgraded?! P.S.- The scary dark driveway has a curb on the right side that is black as in it blends in the road. Hotel should paint it bright yellow and have lights so you don't hit it late at night light we did. Seriously, there is a fire hydrant at the end of the road which you could potentially hit at night.

I was working in the area and stayed here, since it's the only Marriott close to Mercer. Check in…read morewas decent, but all the other employees I bumped into while there were really friendly; they either waved and said "hi" or made conversation. The property is nicely kept up and everything is in good working conditions. The bed and room were comfy, though a light bulb was blown out in my bedroom's bathroom. TV seemed to work well. Breakfast was set up and ready ahead of their 0630 time, which is nice, as 0630 is actually too late for many doing business travel; 0600 or even 0530 would be a much more appropriate time. The gym was in decent working order and clean as well. I'm happy things seemed well on this trip, as it seems I'll be back... a bunch.

The hotel was nice, but after a long day of travel we were not received well. The first thing…read morethey did was not honor a government rate and frustrated my wife who was on work travel. We are elite rewards members and have stayed at multiple Marriott hotels over the years and this one was by far the worst reception ever. My wife went down to the front desk a couple of times to try to handle the rate issue and the lady was watching tv on her phone each time. The next morning my wife was talking to the morning shift front desk worker over internet issues and she was nice. My wife told her about our rate issues and she acted like she cared which was better; however, the guy dressed up in the nearby office didn't bother to come out and try to assist with my couple of complaints. He threw his hands up when the front desk worker asked him about the wifi. Not sure what he said but the front desk worker took my number for follow up once getting their wifi fixed. Room was clean other than mold in the bathroom. Gym was decent. No working wi-fi at the hotel.

This campground is the type of place I always wanted to visit as a kid. It is huge with so many…read moreactivities that you could literally spend your entire vacation here and never leave the grounds. I recently visited with my partner and our two kids. Let's just say, we aren't totally the dedicated campers where we need to pitch tents, bring all the accessories and sleep on the ground. That's why this place especially stood out as they had luxury cabins for rent. Or as my partner said, I'm good as long as I have air conditioning and running water! The cabin came with a screened-in porch, an outdoor fire pit for evening s'mores, a loft where the kids slept, a full living room and kitchen with refrigerator another room with bunkbeds, a bathroom and then the master bedroom at the back of the cabin complete with dressers to put away your clothes. I'm one of those people that always unpacks and must have things organized, so it was a lifesaver. You can rent golf carts, highly recommended as the grounds are spacious and some of the cabins are located far away from the activities. There are also communal laundry facilities, which were great to have since we had to use them day 1 of our trip! The common area offers free activities like playgrounds, mini golf, character meet n' greets and wagon rides along with firetruck rides. Other activities cost extra like ceramic making, tie die shirt making, glitter tattoos and several others. Some nights they offer free movie screenings and other programs. Overall, this was like camping without the pain! That's my kind of camping. Cabin rentals are a little pricey, but with all that space, it could accommodate a large family or even combine it with others to help split the cost. Finally, the biggest hit was the water park. This is a can't miss. We got a poolside cabana and spent most of our days here. The kids didn't want to leave!

It looks to be more for smaller kids rather than teens but nonetheless it's nice. All the staff were really nice. They took the kids for a ride on the fire truck which all thought that was cool. My complaint if you want to call it that is the price. It's a bit expensive. Camping is suppose to be a cheaper alternative to going to a hotel. Not the case here. Depending on what you get it could be just as much if not more than going to a hotel and I don't mean any hotel local to here. It's comparable (at least when we stayed) to hotels in Myrtle Beach. I won't say I would never go back but it would not be my first pick however if you want to stay local to this area and when I say this area I mean within an hour or two, this is not bad.
