A lovely porch to relax on, beautiful countryside & we enjoyed a sushi dinner in New Castle at a newer restaurant called Le Resto! Fabulous & a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful interior . Service was outstanding!! Beds are very comfortable & the house is nicely decorated & very clean!! This beautiful B & B also has a massage therapist available for an extra fee. Tours & lots of things to do & see in the area. Stopped at the Apple Castle for apples, peaches, honey, snacks & jam! Located in delightful Amish Country! We were 9 people which occupied most of the accommodations and we were treated like we were in our own home. The rooms and the house is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. We were treated to home cooked breakfast, and freshly made Amish donuts. The house is right in the middle of The Amish with horse and buggy's, fields of corn and cows and horses. We would highly recommend staying at this establishment and would definitely stay again in the future. This is definitely a find!

All of the rooms are comfortable with lots of space. Each of the bedrooms has its own bathroom. We were a group of eight adults with two children. The owner said "most of his guests are coming to Mercer for weddings or family reunions". The decor is early 1900's, but with modern amenities. The kitchen is modern and loaded with everything and anything you would ever need for meal prep. After having been partially destroyed by fire, vacated by a vagrant, and after sitting unloved and overgrown, the house has taken new life after being restored by the Winner family in the past 29 or so years. It really is magical inside and outside. I can see why people choose this as a wedding venue. I would love to come back and stay there and experience the spa. In the early morning hours and sometimes even during the day - the surrounding hills cover with fog and you feel like you're standing on an island in the middle of the ocean. It's utterly breathtaking. (I highly recommend staying in the upstairs bedroom! Super comfy beds, an awesome bathroom/shower, and a perfect view of the rolling hills!) A large group of wedding vendors and I photographed a styled wedding on the property and we couldn't have been happier with the end result. There are acres and acres of beautiful trails to walk, a large pond full of fish, an awesome bonfire and outdoor bar, as well as a beautiful barn on the land. The space is utterly perfect for country or outdoor weddings! I cannot wait to visit again - both for professional reasons and for personal! (Also, the owners, Sandy and Lou are two of the sweetest people I've ever met! If you love stories about history - ask them questions! They have so many great tales to tell!)

There are a variety of rooms available for reasonable rates. The Sturgis House has a place in history and now deserves a spot on my list of my favorite Bed and Breakfasts.
