This is really a nice park. Small store, ice cream shop, club house, pool, catch & release lake. Sites are a little narrow and uneven but acceptable. People are really nice. We full time RV and are here visiting relatives. We will come back to this park.

I think Cooper's Lake imports extra fireflies just for us (we don't have them in CA) and this year's fireflies didn't disappoint! I wish it had been easier to get our trailer storage contract started by phone though. I had been trying to call to begin a contract a year ago (yeah, COVID) and even several months ago was still unable to get someone to give details or make a commitment while I was trying to communicate by both phone and email. I hate leaving such important plans to last minute, hoping it could happen when I got to site, but that's what we ultimately had to do. Perhaps having a little more info for what to expect in this process be available on the website would help the uber-planners like myself. All in all, thanks for being my favorite annual vacation! There is a lot of planning to provide good infrastructure and Cooper's Lake Campground does it right.

This was the first season the campground, and the 11 full hookup sites were well equipped with a gravel pad, fire ring, and a large wooden picnic table. A large play-set for children and a lake to fish in are ready to use. There is a lot of room between sites, and tall trees provide partial shade. The setting is close to a quiet rural road where Amish buggies frequently go by. A farm with donkeys and a horse is at the back of the sites. There is one private full bathroom with a shower, and one private toilet. Lake Lucy is only 15 minutes drive to the hiking trails of Cook Forrest State Park. There are several rail trails for biking nearby, and the Drake Oil Well State Historic Park in Titusville. Drake's well was the first commercially successful oil well in the world! Our hosts were amazing and open to communication. Firewood is available to buy at the campground. Nearby trails are the Route 66, Oil City, Samuel Justus, and Allegheny National Forest Trails.

Following the passing of the founder the park underwent significant changes with the removal of amusements, trains, and the zoo. In 2017, the Steinman family took the reins, embarking on an extensive revitalization journey. They meticulously renovated the pavilion and installed crucial water and sewer lines, resurrecting the campground and pavilion for their own enjoyment and that of the Mealy and Steinman families and friends. Now, after years of cherished private use, we are thrilled to open our gates once more to the public! Our campers can indulge in a myriad of activities, including fishing, biking, and swimming in the serene waters. Both ponds offer an angler's paradise, boasting bass, crappie, perch, bluegill, and carp. The top pond, in particular, has yielded impressive bass catches. Conveniently located just a few miles away from a dollar store for any needed supplies, with a nearby gas station at the end of the road, our site provides easy access to essential amenities. Moreover, we are a short drive from Cook Forest and the Tionesta Reservoir, ensuring a wealth of recreational opportunities for our guests. On-site facilities include water access for campers and a well-appointed bathhouse, featuring a full bathroom with a shower and an additional half bath.

Visited this state park for the first time earlier this month and had a blast!…read more I parked at what I think is the main lot, up above the mill itself. I didn't take a tour of the mill (which the park volunteers and staff do offer throughout the day) but I did walk through it and read the information in it about the history of the mill. Definitely enjoyed exploring and learning. That said, I was really there for the trails, so I spent most of my day hiking. I took a loop trail down from the mill and back (with a detour up a short trail to some falls) and it was great! I love being outside and I love a good challenge; these trails were not paved or even at all and I had a great workout navigating them. During hydration breaks I'd find a nice rock to sit on by the water, which was wonderful. It was noisy as heck by the mill because of the families, but the further out I got the more peaceful it got. Definitely met my goal of unplugging for a day during my trek on the trails. I want to come back in the future and begin to try to walk the Slippery Gorge Trail, as it sounds like the gorge is another beautiful part of the park. But that is definitely a long term goal, because that trail is not a short one! I loved visiting this park and I'd be back for sure. To everyone else, PLEASE remember water and wear the proper footwear - while I enjoyed my walk in the park, these trails are definitely not a walk in the park!

My wife & I had tent camped here a few times & stayed in a cabin once well over a decade ago, and it lived up to and surpassed the fond memories! Everyone we encountered form the owners/staff to the other campers was really friendly. The cabin was spacious, clean, And incredibly cozy. We had a really nice warm welcoming basket with some treats & a note. I absolutely loved the view out of this cabin. All the amenities! The dog park was fantastic to let our girl run around. We all had fun in the game room, especially with the air hockey table and the ring game on the wall. The kids loved the pool, the Gaga Ball pit, & the hot tub. My son & I played the giant chess game. It was great to buy firewood right on site, the store is stocked up on everything you might forget, and the ice cream hit the spot! We did a lot of cooking over the campfire, but breakfast was great with the oven/stovetop and provided pots/pans/etc. We hope to be back soon & often! Came here to review & found my OLD one from March 24, 2013! (Full text below.) We've been to this campground a few times for tent camping over the summer, and we just stayed in a cabin for the first time this past weekend. We stayed in the Allegheny cabin, and it was awesome. Gambling that the first weekend in Spring would be good weather, we lost. The ground was snow-covered, but it certainly didn't put a damper on the weekend. The cabin was beautiful, cozy, warm, and incredibly clean. The kitchen area was well stocked with an assortment of cookware and utensils, and there was a great grill & fire ring outside. We made great use of the fire ring to make s'mores even though it was quite cold! The owners are extremely welcoming and friendly, and be on the lookout for one of the camp cats, Oliver, if you'd like to make a new furry friend!

We used the hot tub every day. Small oven, stove, fridge. Heater, gas fireplace, air conditioner and fire pit. We cooked at home and hiked or biked during the day. Jon the manager was super nice and replaced a chair we broke same day. He also apologized for not returning my call for 15 minutes and gave us some free firewood to make up for the minor inconvenience. I liked having a shower and bathroom in our cabin, but we did use the key to get into the shower house, which was clean and stocked. Nice place!

It is huge with so many…read moreactivities that you could literally spend your entire vacation here and never leave the grounds. I recently visited with my partner and our two kids. Let's just say, we aren't totally the dedicated campers where we need to pitch tents, bring all the accessories and sleep on the ground. That's why this place especially stood out as they had luxury cabins for rent. Or as my partner said, I'm good as long as I have air conditioning and running water! The cabin came with a screened-in porch, an outdoor fire pit for evening s'mores, a loft where the kids slept, a full living room and kitchen with refrigerator another room with bunkbeds, a bathroom and then the master bedroom at the back of the cabin complete with dressers to put away your clothes. I'm one of those people that always unpacks and must have things organized, so it was a lifesaver. You can rent golf carts, highly recommended as the grounds are spacious and some of the cabins are located far away from the activities. There are also communal laundry facilities, which were great to have since we had to use them day 1 of our trip! The common area offers free activities like playgrounds, mini golf, character meet n' greets and wagon rides along with firetruck rides. Other activities cost extra like ceramic making, tie die shirt making, glitter tattoos and several others. Some nights they offer free movie screenings and other programs. Overall, this was like camping without the pain! That's my kind of camping. Cabin rentals are a little pricey, but with all that space, it could accommodate a large family or even combine it with others to help split the cost. Finally, the biggest hit was the water park. This is a can't miss. We got a poolside cabana and spent most of our days here. The kids didn't want to leave!

It looks to be more for smaller kids rather than teens but nonetheless it's nice. All the staff were really nice. They took the kids for a ride on the fire truck which all thought that was cool. My complaint if you want to call it that is the price. It's a bit expensive. Camping is suppose to be a cheaper alternative to going to a hotel. Not the case here. Depending on what you get it could be just as much if not more than going to a hotel and I don't mean any hotel local to here. It's comparable (at least when we stayed) to hotels in Myrtle Beach. I won't say I would never go back but it would not be my first pick however if you want to stay local to this area and when I say this area I mean within an hour or two, this is not bad.
