omg! I 1000% recommend this place! it's so good portions are so generous for the price staff is amazing and funny especially our seve! the ambiance is very homie and safe feeling so amazing and come here! but be warned the tortillas are bright orange in the kids cheese enchilada

Parrillada Paiso.... This enormous serving was for 2, though it could easily feed a small family!

It's a hidden gem, located in a shopping plaza across HEB (Louetta Glen & Holzwarth). Clean & cozy, the atmosphere is homey and comfortable. Food tastes fresh (not greasy), is flavorful & cooked well, and portions are generous. Our first time here, we shared the Parrillada Paiso for 2. It was an extravagant mountain of grilled meat (served with rice, beans, guacamole, pico de gallo, and tortillas) that could have easily fed a small family! The short ribs and carne asada fajitas were marinated well & tender... A definite bang for your buck. My only critique is that I wasn't a fan of the salsas. The red salsa was too chunky for my liking. The big pieces of vegetables were a little too much for each bite and weighed too heavy on the chips.... The green salsa is a verde-tomatillo sauce that was a little too tart for me. Enjoyed the ambiance very much. We will likely come back to try other menu items.

Sorry. Was like velveta cheese, we had to leave. We ended up at Julio's. *********************************************

On a search for better salsa we attempted Eva's... When we walked in we were kinda told to just sit anywhere. I say kinda bc it was more a quick "you can go" over the shoulders of the girl at the front. We sat with no menus for a few minutes. We got menus after chips and salsa deliver and drink order. I got a Chicken Fajita Taco Salad and hubs a Chalupa plate. NOTHING HAD FLAVOR! The red sauce was pretty much tomato paste and cumin, green was a slimy smashed tomatillo salsa. This place could benefit greatly from some lemon/lime, garlic, cilantro, salt! Really anything. The waiter was okay. The atmosphere was old and outdated. Very dirty. Blinds were down next to us and had grease splashed and finger prints all over them. The windowsill had little dead bugs all down it with pealing paint. I guess our search continues.

My colleague had said good things about Eva's, so I had been meaning to pay them a visit. I finally visited for lunch on a weekend lunch and saw they have happy hour 6 days a week. It was very slow and no employees were up front except for a lady going around filling waters. I guess I came during their slow period of the day. I was finally seated after about 5 minutes. Even after the initial wait, I was still able to get in and out pretty quickly for a sit-down type restaurant....so that was great. Chips and salsa are a good measure on how the food will taste. If I don't like them, I probably won't like the food. I didn't really like either of their salsas. The red one was warm and a little spicy, while the green one was more refreshing. I ordered the tacos al carbon since I wasn't hungry enough for the fajitas, which are about $3 more. With the tacos, they give you 2 tortillas like most places and fill them up with quite a bit of meat. The fajita meat was nicely marinated/seasoned. Worth the extra price you pay to come here versus taco cabana for instance. May come back and try their happy hour. They have 2 locations which was a surprise to me.

My wife said that the chicken enchiladas are the best she has ever had! It is right across from the 2920 HEB near I-45. We found a new spot and will be back.

The food is phenomenal! The service is superb! Every time we eat here it is exceptional. It has quickly become me and my family's favorite restaurant to eat at. Their enchiladas are delicious and the food tastes so fresh. The happy hour margaritas are the icing on the cake! And it's very affordable too. 10/10 my new favorite restaurant.

There is great QC, AND management, here. Julio's wife, Elena, stopped by the table and checked in the food. She also told us of a wrestling event that was coming up on May 1. She was SO pleasant. Our server, Freddy, got the order in perfectly, even though there were 7 of us. The prices were reasonable. The food again was spot on. We WILL return! BTW, the watermelon margarita was wonderful! TLDR: Thar food, those ritas. This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!

From Ashley seating us to Victoria being our waitress extraordinaire it was great. I didn't really open up the menu, because I saw lamb chops on the cover. First, I was like lamb chops and black beans together?? but they pair well together! The presentation of the lamb chops was cool, as they come out hanging on a rack. They were so tender and seasoned well! The squash, carrots, and zucchini was fresh and crunchy. The beans were delicious and I added shredded cheese. I also had the Texas Redfish on a half shell and it was delicious, and the Shrimp were juicy. The food was light and didn't feel Like it was overpowering my belly! We especially love the creamy poblano corn empanadas. We fought over one last time, but this time we each got our own. The waitstaff we have had both times is very sweet, but does not speak or understand English very well and was unable to really help us decide this second time, so we just took her recommendation. One of the items she recommended, the Huarachon, was not my favorite, but the other items were very good. We would have especially enjoyed some interaction with the chef-owner or the gentleman who seems to be her husband, since it did not seem very busy at the time, but they simply said "hello". Hopefully next time! And there will be a next time!
