It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. I'm never disappointed with fire island. A jem in anchorage.

The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.

Lots of Dutch-style art, and the bar is light, airy, and has lots of plants. I don't drink alcohol, so I can't speak to their selection. It irritates me that they aren't open at dinnertime, and feel they are missing out, my husband says he remembers a time when you could get a beer and a brat at the bar during the evening, so I don't know quite when that stopped being a thing. Anyway, I admit I stayed away for a few years, following their re-opening after the pandemic, due to the repetitive instructions given when we were seated. (Leave your mask on, except when taking a bite of food, or a sip of a drink) I know that at that time, businesses had the right to turn away non-masked patrons, but as customers who were compliant with masking instructions, to repeatedly receive this instruction whenever we came in, by the same server, got old fast. It seemed like she did not remember us from our previous visits, and I was annoyed about it. It would be a stretch to say it's 5 star food. But it's good. I usually get the curry chicken sandwich with potatoes, which are sliced thin and fried, sort of like home fries, but in slices rather than cubes. The servers are good, and attentive (it's just that I had a bit of a resentment over the post pandemic mask instruction, even though I did comply with it, it made me weary, of the repeated mask instruction, mask on, except when taking a bite or a drink, continually, whilst trying to eat a meal) I also like the Thai chicken on croissant, and the Benedict is pretty good as well. In keeping with their name, the names of sandwiches and dishes are strongly Dutch-leaning, and this is why I wish the dining room were open for dinner, so I could get to try some other Dutch foods. I don't think the menu has changed at all in the 13 years I've lived here, except for the soup du jour. Do they have a Daily Special? I'm not sure, but one wasn't mentioned when we were in last week. Anyway, we'll go back.

I've had some of the best tasting Döner here. The meat is thick and juicy. The real deal, not the premade ground and frozen stuff. Real meat!!!! The seasoning is spot on. Veggies are fresh and the blend of garlic and spicy sause has the right flavor balance and kick. The bread is made fresh onsite and you can taste the difference. I prefer them over the Döner shops in Seattle or LA. Best Döner in the Western US. Prices are definitely reasonable for the quality. Service is friendly and helpful, making each visit a joyful experience. They have tables inside but get a lot of take out traffic too. Restaurant is clean and well organized. Highly recommend to stop here when in the area.

Seasoned to perfection, tender, generous portions. The sauce(s) Tzatziki and ?thousand island like sauce were delicious. Just enough lettuce and tomato to complement the Kebab. There were a few pieces of cucumber (not a fan) and a nice addition of pepperoncinis Overall, the layered seasoning was wonderful. Did I mention they're HUGE? Got a small pepperoni pizza. Not bad, not my favorite. Pretty sure any kid would enjoy the pizza. I will say it was a generous 12" pie So....adults grab yourself a couple Kebabs and grab your kids a pie.

And I'm really glad I did. From the moment we walked in, the service was on point; friendly, prompt, and genuinely welcoming. We were greeted right away, got our drinks sorted, and placed our pizza order without any wait. We went with a classic pepperoni pizza, with extra pepperoni for good measure. The menu offers a wide range of beers on tap, with plenty of great local and regional options to choose from. Our pizza came out quickly, and it looked every bit as good as it tasted. The cheese was perfectly melted and just the right amount, rich and flavorful without being heavy. The pepperoni was spot on. Slightly crisped at the edges, which added that extra layer of flavor that makes all the difference. The crust hit the sweet spot: light and airy inside, crisp on the outside, and with a nice depth of flavor. The atmosphere is laid-back and full of local charm, with pieces of Alaskana history on the walls and plenty of natural light streaming in through the windows. It's comfortable and unpretentious--exactly the kind of place you want in your regular rotation. Locals may fly under the radar, but it shouldn't. The food is great, the service is even better, and the vibe is genuinely enjoyable. If you haven't been in a while, or ever, it's definitely worth a visit.
