She gives me anxiety but treated my HRT. I found it hard to have a cognitive disability and maintain a treatment schedule with this physician. She runs a tight ship. She's exacting. You can hear the fear in her staff voices. This doctor prioritizes her bureaucracy and punctuality above all else. Her time is valuable, priceless even, that's is undisputed--be prepared to drop nearly a grand for the office visit and any medications. She is brilliant. She's not compassionate, nor particularly kind, and never accommodating, that's not her thing. If you can manage to get an appointment in her narrow windows of availability for patients be prepared, she will spend part of your precious time on the fancy new treatment upsell. Avoid trying to get seen during summertime there is typically a month when she's on holiday. Also don't bother calling the office, use the portal and send very detailed messages (which she'll charge you to read), but check in often because the protocol changes and if you fall out of step and miss your 6 and 12 month appointments your meds get suspended until you can get one of those very rare appointments. Good luck. Pro: There is never a wait, the appointments are like clockwork, every 900 seconds In/out. You have options: Sell your first born, have lots of cash (she doesn't accept insurance), or find another endocrinologist. When I was seeing Dr. Cwynar in 2017-2018 I was seeking treatment for my hormonal issues. I've had many struggles trying to discover what was causing my symptoms and issues. Upon arrival the discussion immediately shifted to weight loss and how I would look like a super model at 170 pounds. I was young I believe 18 or 19 and my parents urged me to try what she was offering. She offered an injection 3x a day that would assure me to lose weight. Though my hormonal questions weren't addressed I believed she knew what she was doing and this would additionally help with hormones. I was wrong. Once starting this injection it was clear that my body didn't respond well to this medication. I began vomiting daily. Every single time I would eat anything I had excruciating stomach pain. I brought these issues to Dr. Cwynar and was told to stick it out for the next year or two and I would see amazing results. No mention of how sick I would constantly feel. Not to mention the blood work I would be required to get done every 3 months. Each time with a complaint about the vomiting and nausea completely dismissed. It wasn't until my therapist advised me to stop the medication that I finally did about a year and a half after starting the medication. I decided I no longer wanted to see Dr. Cwynar and thought the issues this medication was causing would be gone but I was wrong, yet again. After stopping the injection the vomiting did get much less frequent but still persisted. My stomach pain only got worst and worst. I couldn't eat more than a handful of nuts without getting extremely sick. This led to a battle with an eating disorder that caused many other health issues. I'm now in recovery but still have many issues with food and eating due to the pain it creates. I felt manipulated and gaslit by Cwynar and urge any patient to steer clear from her. read more

I called to request prior invoices, just happened to notice a $50 credit left on my account, well they took the $50 credit, I asked why and she said its charges for requesting the invoices. I like Dr Cwynar but stopped going to her because she recommends tests and treatments without notifying the patient that it's not covered by insurance. She cost me $2000 for an elective test. I've never had a doctor do this. My current doctor informs me of costs and bills for treatments in a way that I don't pay more than a co-pay and occasional lab work. But! The biggest reason I stopped going to Cwynar is her front desk/office staff. They are dealing with sick people but are rude, lazy & impatient. Perhaps, if you are made of money... and don't mind at all tossing down an exorbitant rate for every 15 minutes of "consultation"... this doctor might be for you. But ultimately, there's something depressing about this lady. She's not incompetent, but she's very, very, very focused on the hard, cold cash. If you choose to disregard this recommendation, you will find out the truth quite quickly. She charges by the 15 minutes, and thinks of a million ways to charge you that fifeen minutes. Need your prescription adjusted? need to talk to a nurse in the office? Fifteen minutes babe! The charge is not small and you will feel rushed and uneasy, whether in person, on the phone, or with a nurse. You will end up highly aware you are paying by the minute, and yet she will spend ten (or 12) of your fifteen minutes rambling about her family members and what she thinks of how they are doing (fine with a normal doctor I guess... not so fine when you're paying through the nose). "So... okay," I thought before I went. "If she's great, and I hear she'll give me ozempic, awesome... why not just pay?" Take it from me, DON'T DO IT. There are other, better, more kind doctors who can give you what you need. Ultimately, we human beings need something higher and better in a doctor. There has to be a feeling that they are there to make you well! This doctor is not there for you, let's put it that way. She is there to charge you a lot of money -- if she can help you feel better while doing so, I'm sure she does, but that is not the POINT-- and there's a misery that floats over her office, down to the intimidated person who takes your credit card. I'd also like to add that all readers should be aware that the reviews that come up on google for Dr. Cwynar have to be signed and therefore you can't post and be anonymous. I've filled out one several times and then thought ugh, I don't want this coming up everytime someone googles me. So the google reviews are not a fair representation. Dr. Cwynar's reputation is well known... I literally called a compounding pharmacy today, where the woman sighed and said, "ugh, I hear a lot about her" when the name came up. I'm in menopause and had my estrogen levels checked they were low and my OBGYN put me on replacements, which helped with my hot flashes. Anyway a few years later I wasn't feeling any different and I wanted a specialist in the area so I found Dr. Cwynar through a friend and I really like that she goes through all your levels and she makes the right dosage for your individual need. Also my OBGYN retired and the new dr and I don't really have a relationship and it's not his specialty, I feel like I'm at the right place for my needs and also like that it's a woman doctor who understands WOMEN. Dr. Cwynar put me on a lot of medications that made me sick. I found her billing to be very unfair. Not only does she charge for her office visits, but she charges hundreds of dollars on top of EACH medication and is unwilling to write a prescription which would allow you to get it filled outside of her office which allows her to control this bad situation. I was also charged a few thousand dollars for a diet program right before COVID happened. Due to COVID, I didn't start the program. After COVID, I wanted to do the diet program but was told it had expired and they wanted me to pay a couple more thousand dollars for the same program. She also put me on medicine and I wasn't properly monitored - overcharged and under served!!! All in all, I found her to be a very money hungry and unfair person. read more

Dr. Eva is an absolute godsend. I am hypothyroid, and have suffered from severe hormonal imbalance. I've been to many endocrinologists who haven't been able to help me, and I've suffered tremendously. Irregular periods, infertility, severe PMS, fibrocystic breast disease, chronic constipation, depression, weight gain, hair loss, brain fog, etc. Previous doctors only offered to manage my symptoms, or dismiss my complaints altogether because they couldn't understand them. Dr. Eva discovered the root cause to all of my troubles, and I am doing so much better because of it. She has given me my life back, and I feel like a new person! Both my husband and I are so grateful to her. Dr. Eva's philosophy is different. Most endocrinologists evaluate you based upon very broad reference ranges, and if you fall into that reference range then you are considered "normal" even if you are still suffering from symptoms. They simply shrug their shoulders, and don't know how to further help you. Sadly, they really aren't good at what they do, and their understanding of endocrinology is very limited. Dr. Eva knows her stuff inside and out. She really seeks to fine tune your hormones to get them to optimal levels, so that you can feel and look your best. She knows her stuff better than any endocrinologist I've ever come across. She took one look at my lab values and immediately explained to me that my prolactin levels were not optimal (even though other doctors considered me to be within the "normal" range), caused by my elevated TSH (the indicator of hypothyroidism), which is what was causing my severe fibrocystic breast lumps. She prescribed the right medications, at the correct dosages and my fibrocystic breast lumps are gone! My PMS has improved, my thyroid is getting back to normal, and all of my symptoms have improved. Dr. Eva also takes a good look at your nutritional status, and identifies any vitamin and nutritional deficiencies that may be contributing to your symptoms. This is a test that I highly recommend, you can ask her for it. So many diseases are caused from long term nutritional deficiencies, and you really need to know where you stand. She discovered that I suffered from low iodine, a b12 deficiency, and folate deficiency. Once I was able to work at correcting these my life has improved dramatically. The severe depression and fatigue that had been plaguing me, vanished once I got my b12 levels up. I had no idea that something physically was going on with me to cause the depression! If you suffer from hormonal issues of any kind, then I highly recommend making an appointment with her. Do not waste your time and money with other endocrinologists like I did. They will only seek to get you within a standard "normal" range, not your optimal range, and dismiss your complaints when they don't understand them. I had first gone to see Dr. Cwynar in my 30s to help with losing weight. I lost weight and kept off for years. Forward 14 years later, Menopause, could not get a handle on weight, emotional etc. that comes along with this stage. I have been seeing Dr. Cwynar again now for over 6 months. We have tried a couple of different weight loss programs. I've lost a little but most important is the HRT Pellets. Did not hurt to insert; they have changed my life. I'm almost back to myself. I agree with all the one star reviews. I was charged 2000 for the initial 30 minute consult and one half-hour follow up and NONE of my issues were addressed! When I had a potentially life threatening side effect to a medication Dr Cwynar prescribed she could not be bothered to reply and tell me to go to the ER or what to do. Her office answers all the portal questions (is that even legal) and told me she needs $405.00 to answer ONE question in the portal JUST LIKE A LAWYER! Yes, I am quoting verbatim!! A doctor is not a lawyer and should not charge like one. It is clear that all she cares about is money and not patients who are paychecks not people. I agree that the positive reviews are quite new and quite suspicious. All she deals with is weight and hormones and we all know women will spend anything for both. Avoid like the plaque. Dr. Cwynar charges a lot for an appointment, and with every visit, I was seen at the most for only 10 minutes. She does not let you ask questions, I usually come in with a list of questions written out, but if she's writing in your chart and you try to squeeze in a question, she shushes you. And as soon as she's done, she ushers you out of her office! Rude! Like some other yelpers have said, the solution to some of your problems are in her own line of supplements, which also cost a lot. One time I called to find out my test results and her staff told me I needed to make an appointment to come in so the doctor can "discuss" my test results with me, and of course charge me another $275. I said I just wanted to know my results and whether I can speak with her over the phone. Her staff then said if I wanted to speak with her on the phone, there would be a phone consultation charge of $175. Classy! Found another endocrinologist and I'm never looking back. read more

Dr.Cwynar asked me if she could answer her cellphone to talk to her daughter because she "just moved to NYC for college and they never get to talk" while I was crying over test results. I will not specify when I came in to the office, but during that time I was suffering from my hypothyroidism. I don't think anything was truly wrong with me come to think of it. She prescribed me her personal line of vitamins to take and weight loss pills, as well as these weird tablets that suppress your appetite. All this cost about $300-400 every time I had to reup, which was about every 2 months or so. This woman is a fraud and if you are able to make an appointment, I would consider cancelling & finding another endocrinologist. She doesn't care about all of her patients, probably just the ones she deems worthy. read more
