Dr. Massachi is very attentive and should be for what you have to pay him out of pocket, but they are sadly lacking in everything else they should provide to their patients. It really does feel like a patient/ money factory that they're putting you through. Yes, they will do all the tests and you will pay for each of them, but they won't follow up or recommend solutions. They told my wife twice that they would call her to discuss results after 4:00, but of course he never called. Truly sad after paying thousands just to be seen and tested. You're better off seeing a nurse practitioner or ER doctor. read more

DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars to keep seeing him - you have to subscribe to see him after the first visit. Plus, their staff will bill you for every little test. I have never had to pay for a first visit preventative care before, and have a huge bill from this office that I am trying to fight. I'm sure the Dr is wonderful but I won't be finding out. I booked with doc zoc. I was not aware I would be asked for a yearly fee of $365. And $1200 for something else! You can keep your " concierge service " I'm an average hard working woman and was looking to establish primary care! The reception said I could see the Dr the first time w/o paying the fee, but make it make sense, why would I see a Dr 1x when I have ongoing health issues?? I have new insurance and a new job in Beverly Hills at a Dr's office as a PCA. I would never let my Dr's patients waste time coming into my office, having them fill out paper work and then after that telling them of the large fee, that's not usual at most Dr offices. Wasted Uber rides, took time off work! It's not a good customer care policy and I'm certain this is not the first time this has happened. Your front desk staff are not kind, or customer care oriented. They have a hauty attitude!! I did learn a lesson tho, I'll be calling the Drs office and asking more questions to better prepare myself. I was at Kaiser for 10 years and it was lovely! I never had an issue. Just want to make this clear, THE DOCTOR HIMSELF IS ABOVE 5 stars, however The front desk... I was there today and as I'm waiting for my appointment at 8.30 an older lady and gentleman that had arrived before me go in. The second they walked away from the waiting room the front desk start rolling their eyes and give nasty comments. I saw my doctor which is truly an amazing human being and doctor and as I was done I left the office and went back to the waiting room. There was lady waiting and same eye rolling and comments were made after she walks in. I had given them 3 card my credit card my insurance card and my ID. I only had a small wallet with me and went straight home. I needed my insurance info for my daughter and the card was missing so I call the office to tell them that they did not give it to me and Caroline starts going at me. ...You are abusive, I don't like your tone, you have lost your card etc. I literally just called to ask for my card or insurance info! I told her to check the cameras and have the doctor call me and she just hung up. This is so sad as I was very happy to see dr Massachi after 2 years but we all know that if the front staff are the way she behaved it only means future problems so sadly I won't be going back. Dr. Massachi was nice and one of the older ladies (Melissa?) is extremely sweet. HOWEVER my experience with the billing department is a nightmare. First they billed my insurance under a different billing number, which caused it to register as "out of network" , and my insurance claims were insane numbers. I called my insurance to sort it out, and ok fine everybody makes mistakes , whatever. Then I get a physical bill from Massachi's office for a very large amount. I was like WTF this cannot be right. Called the billing people again and yup they fucked up again, they overstated my total bill amount by like 400%. Ok fine it's covid maybe y'all are just tired. Then I look at my credit card, and they tried to bill me TWICE for the same thing. At this point it almost seems like they're intentionally overcharging me and just hoping I won't notice. There's no reason why you could fuck up on billing SO many times. Unacceptable , so much unnecessary stress and time. read more

Dr. Sasan Massachi was a referral to me about two years ago from a co-worker whom has been a patient along with her whole family for many years. I am so glad he is now my doctor because he is a professional, thorough and most importantly has a great bedside manner. My previous doctor I found out has a horrible bedside manner. I was with my previous doctor for 3 years but when he told me on a Friday before Memorial Day I had breast cancer and I asked him, what stage was I and he said you will find out on Tuesday after the Holiday and said you have to make an appt. With a cancer surgeon and also did not attempt to even give me a referral, I knew he was not going to be my doctor anymore. My previous doctor was acting as if I just had a cold. The worst weekend of me and my families life. Now since being a patient with Dr. Massachi I know he really cares about his patient health and well being and it means so much to me. The receptionist just hung up in my face because I refused to allow her to continuously mispronounce my name after I politely corrected her each time on the phone as to how it should be spoken. Let's go back a little bit. I have been quite ill lately which has caused me to go to my pcp more than my normal yearly visits. I have left messages for the doctor in the past to make appointments, but the receptionist or whoever answers the phone never returned my calls. I let that go because offices were busy during the early days of COVID-19. Eventually, I did get an appointment so situation resolved. Whenever I go to the office as of late, there is a weird energy in the office. The doctor seems more standoffish than pre Covid and at one point I had to ask for clarification of something he said that felt like he was making a stereotypical judgment about me based on my race. It was explained, but in the same appointment, the receptionist had me sign an agreement to pay $300 if my insurance did not cover my visit, something I never had to do in the past and it seemed really odd since most doctors just send a bill for anything not covered. I let that go because maybe there were different policies now. However, I just went this week and she didn't request I sign a document to pay. By the way, I have amazing insurance. I'm very lucky and yes, they have that on file. Today, I called because I could not find receipts that I need to send to my insurance and the receptionist kept mispronouncing my name on the phone. Each time she said it, I corrected her, politely. She pretended not to hear me and kept saying my name wrong on purpose. I finally told her that I do not like the name she is calling me and that is not how you pronounce my name. She went on to tell me that my name is spelled the way she is pronouncing it and that she will keep saying it that way because that's how it is spelled. I told her that is not true, my name is spelled correctly and pronounced correctly, that I'm not from here, I'm from the South and my mom knows how to spell the name. It's what I was given. She started yelling that it was not correct and I tried to tell her we are different cultures and people pronounce things differently and she can call me LT, but as she was still yelling trying to tell me how my name should be spelled, she probably didn't hear most of that and she replied, "I'll call you LaTanya," finally saying my name correctly (hard "a" like tan, not LaTonya) and hung up in my face. My first thought was to call the doctor to let him know how unprofessional his office employee was and is, but then he probably already knows. There is no way if I was white or whatever ethnicity she was, would she try to tell me how to pronounce and spell my name. It is so disrespectful and insulting, especially since I try my best to pronounce and spell everyone's name correctly no matter how difficult to my American tongue. I am home recovering from illness that has taken my strength and health and I have to have a crazy receptionist yelling at me on how to spell and pronounce my name and then hang up in my face at my own doctor's office. Let's keep in mind this is supposedly a prestigious doctor in Beverly Hills who was referred to me by another prestigious doctor in the same building. It doesn't matter how great the doctor, if you have bad, incompetent, rude, and racist staff in your office, then your office is in trouble. I used to recommend this office to my friends because it's difficult for African-American women to find an office where we are treated with the same respect as anyone else and not pre-judged or treated less than by medical staff. It is so disheartening to discover that people you choose to pay to help you (and please understand that my insurance payments go to paying staff in the office) who go into a profession to assist others and work with those who assist others harbor prejudicial, bias, stereotypical, and/or racist views. The receptionist should be released, but she probably won't be. She will still be there delving out her hatred and insecurities against African-Americans and probably other minorities. I don't know her full name, but I'm pretty sure it's not Beth Ann Smith. I know she has a difficult last name to pronounce. Either way, I would never ever tell someone, especially a client/patient, how their name should be pronounced or spelled when that person has corrected my pronunciation and asked me to say their name correctly. I would try my best to say it as requested and respectfully. I'm still shocked that this receptionist actually tried to tell me my name was misspelled by my mother and only she, the receptionist, knew how to properly say my name. This is so ridiculous, so offensive, so disrespectful to me and my family. And people wonder why #blm came into existence, it starts with things like this and continues to the worse. So, obviously, I'm now looking for an office that is culturally sensitive. read more

This was my second time visiting Dr. Massachi (both visits were for annual check ups). One of his assistants first ran routine tests (e.g., body temperature, weight/height, blood pressure) and then took a blood sample and asked for a urine sample. Next, I met with Dr. Massachi who carefully asked a series of questions and inquired into my health for the last year. This is what sets Dr. Massachi apart. You can see him actively listening and issue spotting for potential health risks, probing further as needed. He had done this last year for my initial visit but appears to do this on a regular basis. That's exemplary service. He then went through a physical check and I was out the door within 40 minutes of my arrival time. On time, prompt and he cares--and continues to care--about his patients' health. Excellent service and a standard bearer for preventative healthcare in Los Angeles. I was reffered to Dr Massachi from a friend of mine who only had great things to say about him. So i decided to give him a try when i was sick. Dr Massachi first off is the most caring doctor I have ever seen. He's very polite and knowledged which makes me feel very comfortable. Some doctors want to get you in and quickly rush you out. Dr Massachi is the total opposite he tells me what symptoms I may get and how long it will take for me to fully heal. The doctor ran me through a few tests and didn't waste anytime he immediatley knew what was wrong with me. (he seemed to be very experienced) His office staff is very polite and professional they sat me immediately when I checked in. I love how they are always on time and confirm all appointments with you. They also accept most insurance which was very flexible for me when I was searching for different insurance companys. My wife and I love Dr. Massachi. He is the first doctor that either of us had, who is younger than us. (gulp). But we have so much respect for him and how comfortable and taken care of, he makes both of us feel. He has been a calm, reasonable sounding board for a number of issues in our family and we really value his opinion and measured but safe approach. After returning from several months in South Africa, I was convinced that I had brought back some crazy virus that was periodically leaving me dizzy and exhausted. He correctly diagnosed me as chronically dehydrated from recently taking up yoga. I drank a ton of gatorade and felt much better. It obviously sounds very silly but it was actually very troubling and I was so grateful that he was able to zero in on what was wrong. My husband has used Dr Massachi as his primary caregiver for the past 3 years, but had only seen him 3 times for his annual check up. He has chronic problems from a previous illness that he must see 2 other specialists monthly which for us has not been cheap. This year my husband had to change to blue cross of which Dr. massachi office receptionist said they take. Unfortunately, after his recent visit we were notified that he is not in the network. We called about this and the receptionist transferred us to the biller who said he would join the anthem network and he would call us back with some answers. We've called every week for 4 weeks, but the biller has not gotten back to us. Dr Masachi seems nice with bedside manner and such, but if he makes charges that his staff assures patients are covered and then we learn they're not, they're all accountable. He's young, smart, and caring. He has multiple awards for patient care and really takes a lot of time for each patient. After asking about my family history, he even went out of his way to make sure my parents were getting properly screened for certain cancers (they live out of the area) that they were due for. In addition, I could easily get an appointment (and you can book online yourself through ZocDoc which is convenient), and they were running on time for my appointment which was refreshing. The support staff was very so-so (the x ray tech made me feel dumb for not knowing which way to put on the vest and pose and the nurse was complaining about being there the whole time), but the doctor himself was awesome and comfortable. I'll be going back! Additional information: A few months into being a client here, I called the receptionist to see if I could come in the day-of when I was feeling sick, but there weren't any appointments available that day. Funny enough, I just received all my lab reports last week and they stated that I'm normal and healthy. Then, I had my first bladder infection on Monday and had no idea what to do. I panicked and thought the worst. Luckily, I was able to schedule a same-day appointment with Dr. Massachi without any issues. Dr. Massachi examined me, interpreted my urine sample results, and prescribed Cipro and Azo for my bladder infection. My treatment regimen ended today and I feel excellent. read more

We just moved to this neighborhood and he came highly recommended. The greatest deficit of this office is the administrative staff. The completely disengaged phone etiquette from the admins almost entirely deterred me from proceeding with my appt. She did not know if Dr Massachi could conduct a "biometric screening" aka a standard physical. He got on the phone himself and warmly answered all my basic questions and instructed his staff to squeeze me in the next day. He himself has one of the kindest bed side manners of any physician practicing in the LA area. However, the staff... At Check-In, chatting loudly about personal domestic issues amongst themselves for the entire waiting room to hear. They did not even ask for my ID, even after I offered it since I was a new patient. The nurse administering the blood draw proceeded to give me unsolicited personal advice & opinions as a new mother which I think was somewhat "forward"... or at least, presumptuous. She also complained about the temperature in my exam room and asked me to leave my purse & belongings so we could switch to a warmer room... Again, little weird. It was such a contrast to Dr Massachi who was very kind and even offered me a snack knowing I was fasting all day for the blood drawer and it was almost 5pm. After such a personable exchange with him, it was just bizarre that he would suffer the crassness of less professional staff. The next day my husband came for his first visit. Again as a new patient it the exact same insurance as myself, was not asked for ID but was asked for a credit card at the end of his exam to pay directly for his vaccination shot. He's not one to question billing but was certain with our coverage, it was squirrelly. He immediately called our insurance and who conferenced Dr Massachi's on the line & told the admin we are 100% covered & its standard practice to least CALL or attempt to file a claim for the service. We asked that our Credit Card be refunded. She refused. She sd she would file the claim that day and told me after a month, to call in, confirm it was paid, then request the refund. It's been 2wks, I called both my insurance and Massachi's office. They never filed the claim and said it would be today... I recommend Dr Massachi. But I recommend you arrive with patience and caution when dealing with his staff. Or just go elsewhere for respectable patient service. read more

Upon my arrival into the beautiful private office I was greeted by the warm receptionist. I filled out my paperwork and waited about 10 mins to be seen. Dr. Massachi is warm, kind and above all, extremely knowledgable! He quickly was able to diagnose my problem and even took the time to look at another issue I was having. While my experience with Dr. Massachi and his staff has been nothing but positive, I thought it was a little odd that they are now (in the light of the COVID pandemic) requiring all visitors to the office to wear gloves in addition to masks. The patients in the office had donned gloves prior to arriving (or were asked to by front desk staff immediately upon arrival); they touched the doorknob to the waiting room, touched the pen at the front desk to sign their receipts after making their copay, touched the waiting room chairs, and proceeded to touch their phones and their faces while wearing the same gloves. This defeats the entire purpose of wearing gloves. A physician and a staff of medical professionals should know that wearing gloves is effective protection in the medical setting when performing procedures, drawing medications, obtaining lab work, etc., but the medical professional changes gloves in between these contaminating tasks, and certainly does not wear the same pair of gloves for the duration of his or her shift. Having people wear gloves for the duration of their physician office visit is not only less effective than just using hand sanitizer in between doing things like touching the doorknob or touching a pen at the front desk, is actually increases the risk of spreading contaminant around the office. I expected better from a medical establishment. read more

He has a nice demeanor; however, his description is far from his skills and that of his pretentious office staff. If you aren't Beverly Hills material you aren't worth their attention. I have finally found the time to find a good primary physician that takes my Anthem Blue Cross PPO insurance. Dr. Massachi description says "Dr. Massachi assists patients with identifying healthy practices and behaviors to incorporate into their daily lives that can stave off common illnesses". 3 weeks after my pre-op test for kidney stones and 1 week after removal procedure (where the hospital had to have them fax results 3 times before they would proceed as I was prep and ready) I received a call telling me I should "diet and exercise". My cholesterol was high. That was the extent of instructions. I had to pull from him what kind of "diet" and "exercise". He said just cut down on red meat and he'll test me again in 3 months then maybe prescribe medication. I finally asked for copies of my labs and noticed my cholesterol had been over 200 for at least a year. His parking is expensive and he is not nearby. I found a doctor who took the time to explain what was going on with me and talked me through diet. In 2 months I brought it down from 272 to 198 and proper tests (ultrasound) to check kidney & liver after an ER ct scan showed abnormalities was also seen to. I had tried the past year to reach his office to have results and also send them to specialists or had a question for doctor. Hard to reach and never get an answer from machine that says a return call will happen. I did finally email him and got an answer but labs had never been sent without tremendous follow through on my part. I had to make copies and get them to other doctors. Never did I get any assistance "with identifying healthy practices and behaviors to incorporate into their daily lives that can stave off common illnesses." Dr. Stewart Reed has been a welcome find. read more
