During my Google search I discover My Story Cafe through an article about the owners journey. Being a Caribbean girl myself, I had to go support this Trinidadian, Black, Woman owned business. So I decided I'd use my morning walk which ended up being about 3/4 of a mile to walk to My Story from my hotel. Thankfully it was a nice walk as it wasn't too hot while I was there. My first two days I ordered the an iced French toast latte. The third day I ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee as Ms Jacqueline's recommendation. I was skeptical as I've previously had Vietnamese iced coffees that were overly sweet but hers was velvety, smooth, and balanced. I understood the hype but I info recommend the French toast latte as well! Ms Jacqueline and I connected over those three days, we shared laughs, talked community and our beloved islands as well as all things food! I got to see first hand her connection with locals, the way she builds community and works hard as just one person running the show. We're family now, and anytime I'm Back in Charlotte my first stop will be to go visit my new auntie! Be patient, she gets busy. But the coffee and conversation is worth it. We went through the exhibit and got to see some really incredible displays. We marveled at the displays, wondering how long they took to complete, how many people worked on the display etc. It's just so amazing to see that all the displays were made out of Lego pieces. There were some interactive displays which was nice for the kids since they were unable to touch most of the displays in the exhibit. There's a section where the kids can be master builders and time themselves on how quickly they can complete a miniature display, they ranged from easy, medium and difficult. At the end of the experience there was an entire city made of Legos, with loose lego pieces for the kids to be creative and make their own lego creations. It was a great finish to the experience. This exhibit is every lego master builders dream. It brought me back to my childhood!

I was visiting Charlotte for a concert with my best friend and I found this place on the bus ride…read moreto my Airbnb. We decided to come back for lunch and tried La Caseta. My best friend ended up getting us the sampler platter from La Caseta and we really enjoyed it! It was such a huge space but was a bit difficult to figure out where what was so we just ended up walking around on one side. We ended up going to Good Postage and I really loved the store! They had a little doggy walking around which was super cute and I ended up buying a sticker for my memories. I would definitely come back here if I was visiting Charlotte again!
