2023: new year, new me, right? Well, in trying to put this mantra into motion, I saw the pile of new work pants that have been in my closet waiting for me to get off my lazy butt to finally get them hemmed so I could actually wear them, so I looked up local tailors and found European Tailors. It's been ages since I last had alterations done (pre-pandemic at least!) so I didn't even know what the going rate was to hem women's work pants. After reading the positive reviews about their excellent skills and reasonable prices I took 4 pairs to them. This is a small shop inside an older shopping center in Artesia that also houses the Nilly's Neighborhood Burger joint and a PCB Bank. It's run by a husband and wife (I think the gentleman mentioned they're from Turkey). I tried each pair on so he could pin them to mark how much needed to be hemmed. I asked if they would use the original stitching as some alteration places in the past just used a machine to stitch a straight line across which didn't match the original hem. They said they could. Usually the turnaround time is a few days, but since they were so busy he asked if I could come back in one week. I didn't need the pants back soon so that was fine. I was charged $12 per pair which I felt was extremely fair. As I drove away I realized that I actually did need one of the pants back a day earlier than agreed upon. I called and asked if it was possible to expedite that one pair and the rest could be finished later. The kind tailor said no problem. To my surprise when I stopped by to just pick up the one pair I needed sooner, he had completed all 4 pairs. He did a wonderful job - my pants were beautifully hemmed. Excellent tailoring skills, friendly husband/wife duo, and good pricing. I will definitely be bringing all my alteration business here from now on. read more

I was in the area and needed some alterations for a suit jacket. Looked up their hours online, and it says they were open on Fridays at 9:30am. I came by at 10:05am, and they were closed. I tried calling their phone number, but there was no answer. Came back 30 minutes later at 10:35am, and they were still closed. read more

Came here to drop off some clothes to dry clean but the lady informed me they don't have that service. I don't understand because it clearly is apart of the title of their shop? She seemed a bit short and annoyed when I asked her. Perhaps they should rename their shop and reevaluate their services. Came in on a Monday to have two pairs of dress pants and two suit jackets hemmed. I needed them by Thursday evening and the tailor, Yil, told me it will be ready by Thursday afternoon. Come Thursday, I knew I was going to be short with time so I am hoping that Yil had my stuff ready. Not only were they ready, but they were pressed and looked sharp! I needed to dress up at the store with the lack of time I had available before my event and Yil even help me decide on whether I should wear black or brown shoes. HOWEVER, maaan did I make the mistake on trying to carry a conversation with Yil. We were talking about from how the whole plaza, where the tailor is located at, used to mostly be tailor shops thanks in demand by businesses like McDonnell Douglas back in the '90s to there being way too many Subways and Starbucks now. I would have liked to stay and chat some more but my whole reason for being there would have been for nothing had I not mentioned the time. Regardless of it all, I enjoy supporting small businesses and to find it provides friendly service and great quality is all the reason to return again. Oh, and yeah, I was still able to make it to my event. TLDR: Got my suits hemmed for a good price. Was almost late to my event because the tailor likes making conversation. I like this place. I'm new when it comes to clothes alterations. This guy took the time to explain things to me, gave me suggestions on what he thought looks good, but never pushed me to make a move or upsell me on anything. He worked on two jeans, tapering and hemming and it turned out perfect. Like literally perfect. I will definitely be back for some suit work in the near future. I was referred to this place by a specialty store; this just might be my new go to tailor. It has an old school feel, what I'm looking for if I'm going to trust my suits to be altered. They are very fair priced and very professional. They also sell suits, and while not 3 day suit broker, they have a selection that really appealed to me. So far, the lowest priced place to get my pants hemmed. Considering it takes about 3 minutes to cut and hem pants, I appreciate that they don't gouge you on the price. My next visit will be this week, maybe even today. I'm going to see what kind of custom work they do and how affordable it will be. This is a little hole in the wall shop, but there service blew me out the water. Husband and wife are so nice and friendly. I came during my lunch break to get my dressed altered and the wife was so nice to help me get in and out of there in just a few mins. Not to mention I was even able to try on my dress to show her how I would like it too look. They were so fast, she had it ready for pick up the very next day during my lunch break. $6 - pants hemmed with new stitching $20 - pants hemmed with original stitching $12 - pants waist taken in with new stitching Per a friend's recommendation, I took three pairs of jeans to be hemmed for $6 each. There was plenty of parking space. I found the place to be well lit and inviting. The tailor was a very nice man with an accent. I later ask him if he is from Europe, but he tells me he is from Istanbul. (I was hoping he'd tell me he was Italian, because it'd be balla to tell people, "My tailor is Italian.") The whole process was a breeze. I asked if he could take in the waist on one of the jeans. (I bet I'm the first American to ask him to do that.) But he seemed to suggest the new stitching would make the seat look rather odd, so I decided against it. He wasn't pressuring me into it at all, even though it would've netted him more money, and I appreciate that. I didn't get the vibe of "I'm getting ripped off right now, aren't I" like I have from certain other tailors. You can either pay upfront or when you pick up the items. I told him I didn't need the pants right away and can pick them up whenever was convenient for him, which, in this case, was one week. However, I felt like I could've been more demanding with the schedule if I wanted. My friend tells me he could do the work in one day, if need be. I picked them up when the day came, confirming they were ready beforehand with a phone call. Everything was good. I paid the man, and I was off, riding into the sunset. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!!!! Here is my experience today. I send my cloths to there yesterday, and today, I went to picked them up this afternoon. Let me tell you, this place is just HORRIBLE! Quality: I will give them zero star if I could. My sweater is made by delicate cashmere with 6 different kind big buttons in the front. When I get my cashmere sweater back today, there missing one button, and the top button is full of scratches on it ! And everyone who has cashmere should know that there shouldn't have wool balls on it. But my cashmere sweater is just FULL OF WOOL BALLS. So I highly doubt if THEY JUST PUT MY SWEATER INTO WASHING MACHINE. Attitude: I have never seen such ridiculous people in my whole life! After I found they ruined my sweater, there is no apology,NO APOLOGY! what they told me is "WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DESTROY, YOU GUYS CAN"T BLAME US. YOU GUYS ARE TOO PICKY! " They said us PICKY! That's just ridiculous! After all the damaged, they came back and blame us. And they asked us to "GO, GO OUT OF THE STORE! GO! GO OUT OF HERE! NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!" And that's not the first time they say we are picky. The first time is when they gave us the clothes, I said I want to check, and the old man who said himself coming from european told my husband that I am very picky. I drop off few pieces of clothing for dry cleaning. 1 complete suit, 1 dress shirt, 1 cashmare overcoat. The owner told me to pick up in 1 day. So i brought my wife there to fetch the pieces. She does the normal routine to check for any missing buttons. As she checking through the 5 pieces of the garments, the owner shifted he's attitude from nice to impatient. He eventually said why are you guys so PICKY. I kind ignored him for the whole time because i didn't want to make a big deal of it. Turns out, they damage my wife's "KATE SPADE" 100% cashmere overcoat. To be specific, one the button were missing and other 4 were heavily damaged due to washing it through regular machines. So we inform the owner regarding to this issue, but he totally ignore the fact its he's fault. keep saying we lost it before brought to him for cleaning. we eventually got into a argument. He finally said "I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS AS YOU SHOULD KNOW" but it was never on the agreement or invoice. At that point, he told us to get out of he's store and don't ever come back. So i told him, "i will inform this to anyone i knew and they can decide what kind of business you are running." My conclusions are, NEVER EVER GO THERE FOR ANYTHING. It is every so often one comes across a master tailor. Due to the availability and productivity of ready-to-wear garments, the art of tailoring has diminished over the years. But surely enough, this tailor still has it. He doesn't make bespoke suits as he once did before, but sure definetly knows how to make your made-to-measure suit look bespoke. I could see why hedy y. and chen F. were flustered about the attitude, but there is obviously a culture barrier they do not understand. Despite that, his work is just phenomenal and the price is more than reasonable. If you want your maxi dress or anything else tailored DON'T come here!!! I specifically asked that my dress reach but not drag on the floor. When I picked up my dress it was 2 1/2" inches too short! I wasted $80 ($20 to tailor this simple dress) total on a dress that I really loved and now I don't really care much for because it does not look like a maxi dress. It looks like the length is out of place. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED! Now I have to spend another $60 to buy this same exact dress and another $20 to get it tailored properly. Next time I will just have to drive all the way to Sunrise Tailors in Rancho Cucamonga to get it done right! I also received horrible customer service when I first came in with the dress. I asked if I can pay with a credit card and the man asked for "...the green..." so my boyfriend had to pay in cash for me because I did not have enough cash since I was expecting to pay with a credit card. I thought this business accepts credit cards. Not only that, the man asked that I pay up front when I dropped off the dress. Usually these types of businesses ask that you pay when you are to pick up your article of clothing. read more
