New tires ready to go on!
    Peter M.

After squeezing 28,000 miles out of tires I should've replaced at 25K, I finally had to bite the bullet and get four new shoes. Due to my paranoia of damage to rims and car by tire shops, I had this place scouted out and selected over three years ago. Yes, I'm insane but hey, we all have our faults. I can normally cheap out with the best of them, but not when it comes to things like this. Their price for tires and mounting won't match that of tire rack and the corner tire shop. Here is what I'm paying for. 1. A spotless and roomy shop. Did I say roomy? Look at my photos. Room to work means no dents doors or tools falling on the car. The tech can walk around the car without dragging tools and belt buckles across the car panels. And yes, I've see this happen many times when scouting shops. 2. They deal with high end cars all the time. Makes my car look like a Kia. I wanted a tech who is used to seeing low cars like this day it and day out. 3. Experience and reputation. Great word of mouth amongst the owners in the area. Dealing with 19" and larger rims requires experience and patience. There are damage risk when mounting and unmounting tires. At over $1000 per rim, you don't want to deal with repair or replacement from a low end shop. The tire tech took his time to carefully, unmount, balance and remount everything. I think it took close to 1-hr. They used a real torque wrench to make sure the bolts were tightened to spec, no air tools here.

The original estimate was approximately $2900 and the final bill was higher($3070). I missed two days for work due to wrong parts, them not being able to get a bolt off. When I finally got my car back the engine light came on and my transmission was shot. The car never had prior transmission problems at all. When I sent them the info that using heat by the transmission can cause damage they dismissed it. I had to junk the car for $500. The worst car repair experience I ever had. I never took a car to get a major repair like this and had the car run much worse. I will never go back. Buyer beware with these guys.

This used to be Euro Tire which I used previously for various things with no issues. Unfortunately, what began as a simple service resulted in over $1,000 in damages and a complete lack of accountability. After picking up my car, I discovered the wheel bolts had been severely over-torqued. I returned within 30 min, and a technician confirmed they were stuck, stating he was "uncomfortable" proceeding at closing time. I took the car home and dropped it off the following morning as they said they will take care of it. The next day, multiple lug nuts were stuck which required drilling of the studs to remove them. The shop broke at least 4 lug nuts in half trying to remove them and the 2 wheels were stuck on the car. During the extraction process, the shop drilled through the wheel itself rather than just the studs. Put the wheel back on and said it was all done. I once again checked when I got home and discovered the wheel was drilled into and 2 of 5 lug nuts on one wheel were not holding. This rendered the wheel structurally compromised and unsafe for road use. Despite previously admitting the bolts were over-torqued, the management changed their story once they realized the extent of the damage. When I confronted them about the ruined wheel, they blamed me for the over-torquing--despite the fact that they were the last ones to touch the vehicle. While they refunded the initial labor cost, I am now out approximately $1,000 for a replacement wheel and hardware.

In this rare case, the guys Jahqui & Mario from Pep boys deserves the honorable mention. Ran through a huge nail which destroyed my tire at 6:45pm. After making several calls to nearby shops, i decided to go to Pep boys to see if they could repair or replace the tire. Keep in mind it was few minutes before their closing time. I went into the shop, clearly distressed and explained what has happened and have them analyze the possible solutions. Those that have been in my similar position know the feeling of helplessness and desperation. Jahqui, probably the most down to earth person evaluated the dire situation and presented the unfortunate news. The nail was huge and placement of the nail annihilated my tire and could not be easily patched. They also didn't have the tire in stock and were unable to find other vendors with my tire size. However, Jahqui's assuring demeanor analyzed all possible solutions - most which required a tire delivery the next day which was unacceptable for my circumstances. Eventually, as the last resort, Mario (the tire guy) worked his magic and temporarily patched my awful tire just enough to get me home 30 miles away. All of this occurred far past their closing time and they didnt ask for a single cent. I had to offer them a tip for their hard work on OVERTIME. They could've easily shot me away, stating they're closing and unable to help. Without Jahqui and Mario, i would've probably had to call a tow truck or be left stranded. Their dedication to their service and customers are unmatched. They've just won a lifelong customer and would recommend everyone to them. If you're serviced by Jahqui or Mario, you're in good hands. I hope they both get a promotion or raise because they deserve it.
