The mechanic insisted that the ignition coils were fine, but that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. That didn't sound right, as I had recently replaced the spark plugs last year. But in good faith, I trusted the mechanic and had the work done. Literallt as soon as I got back in my car, I heard the same rumbling sound that brought me there in the first place. Before leaving, I went back in and told them my engine still sounded funny, to which they said I just needed to let the car settle in. Two days later, the engine sputtering persists and the engine light returns. I go to another mechanic to get a second opinion, and they say it's the ignition coils - which is the work I requested in the first place!! I call pep boys to see about disputing the work or even getting partial reimbursement, but I'm told that they don't even know why I would've agreed to that work in the first place - when THEY were the ones who pressured me into doing the spark plugs instead!! And the spark plugs were a more expensive repair than the ignition coils, if that gives any clue. Never trusting my car with them again!!!

He hardly worked on it, he had a lame excuse anytime I'd get him on the phone (which was rare). Instead he was "attempting" to do the repair, likely spent an hour or two at most and did so, here and there, the repair was not done and he broke parts and hardly did anything he was asked to do, he was supplied every single prt and tool by me, he did do what he was hired to do and what he did was minimal and broken and incomplete. He brought it back as an incomplete, ruined repair and took him weeks to do anything to it, as he did hardly much that was needed. Really, this was a very bad experience working with him y regrets are high. How dos he sleep at night? The money he ripped my friend off is also being handled in an separate matter, he's not keeping that money, no one gets paid for ruining people's things and breaking things and where we had to bring this repair elsewhere, to an actual professional to fix this guy's crap he broke and we have to pay more to have it all fixed now?? She cares and has a calming and upbeat personality if that makes sense. I'd hire her in a second. And she def is the one that keeps the customers coming back. At least this one.
